ooc: The hands didn't start glowing until after he was already touching the wolf, at which wouldn't the healing have already happened? I realized that may not have been clear but that was his intent, given the animal's aversion to light, that's why he waited until he was sure they would let him touch them. The healing is supposed to be instantaneous.
((Ah, okay, you're right. With the 9 then it wouldn't have even gotten to the glowing bit then, I had just latched on to that as a reason for them to not go along with it. Instead you just can't convince them to come close enough.))

"Why does everyone want to pet the dangerous, and sick-looking, wolfs?" Nolla asks as she steps to put her back to a wall, nervously watching the wolves.
Thavriol looks at her, understanding she was scarred by their last mission but wishing she would come back to herself. “Because they need our help, Nola.” He said gently and softly.
The half-elf sat down, pulled out some food, selected a hunk of dried meat, bit off a chunk, then tossed the other gently to the ground nearby but clearly out of his reach. He repeated this 3 more times, tossing the meat closer to himself each time, the last piece ending up within easy reach. He then leaned back against the wall of the cave and closed his eyes, content to wait and let the wolves become adjusted to their presence.
Samael manages to get one to cautiously approach, but when he doesn't seem to have anything for it, it backs off. Thavriol gives another try, and it does seem that they are being tolerated, and eventually, one does come up and snatch up a bit of dried meat. The wolf who had been leading them is sitting, panting, watching them and waiting, occasionally looking down the tunnel that continues on.

"I think I'm going to go and scout that tunnel the big wolf there keeps looking at." Nolla suggests. She lights a torch for herself, and, staying pressed against a wall, skirts past any wolves and heads down the tunnel. "Be right back..." She calls back over her shoulder.
The den is a cacophony of wet snarling as soon as Nolla strikes her tinder to light the torch, patches of translucent goo sizzling into ash in spots on the floor and on the pelts of the nearest wolves, who all scamper back and now ring the party, growling and snarling...
If someone stops her she would not light the torch. "I'll just sit over here then..." Nolla says, sliding down to the floor and pulling her knees up to her chest.
((I should have refreshed before posting! It takes enough to get out a torch and tinder that I'm good with Thravriol giving the warning before things kicked off.))

Thavriol breaths a sigh of relief as Nolla stops what she's doing and sits down. He decides to try again. "Please," he says softly to the nearest sick wolf. "Let me help you. I just want to heal you if I can."
((Thavriol, let's have another Animal Handling, with advantage this time from your sharing of rations. The one who was partaking has remained within 10 ft of you, watching warily in case you were to share more.))

The wolf approaches, sniffing, as clear, viscous fluid drips from its nose. It holds still as you reach and place your hands on it, but it is still giving off a low, burbling growl.

Taking a deep breath, Thavriol says "I'm going to try healing now. Be ready for a little light when I do." Even as says this, the paladin channels the power of Tyr into healing, a soft white glow shining from his hand. He's ready for the wolf to bolt away or try to bite him. If the former, he vows to maintain contact for the instant needed. If the latter, he vows to take the bite rather than lose touch.
ooc: 5 points of healing to cure disease or poison.

"I don't think they want you to touch them." Nolla speaks up, as she glances to the wolfs all around. "Nice doggies..."
