As you continue your journey the distant roll of thunder can be heard as a wind picks up. Night comes early beneath swirling clouds, flashes of lightening and booms of thunder with no buildings in sight.
Lucius pulls his cloak tighter around himself and starts scanning for some cover from the wind. "There must be some trees or a cave or something close by", he mutters. "We should split up into pairs, and if somebody finds cover just message the others using the ring" he calls loudly, cutting through the wind.
"I will look for somewhere along the coast side to the North, who fancies joining me?", he asks the group.
(OOC: He will wait for someone to volunteer to join him and then head off North looking for cover, or if no-one joins him he will go by himself)
"I will go with you. We need shelter from this wretched storm," Muktak calls into the wind. He fastens his pack a little tighter, and sets off with Lucius. He will also roll perception, 18

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone, there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

"Looks like it is, keeping the little uns together already I see." Ragnik responds with a cheery smile on his face as he raises his hood and draws his cloak in closer to his chest.
You are on an open plain with a cliff to your right (as you are traveling north) which drops into the sea. While you unable to find good shelter, you are able to find an overhang along the cliff, where you can spend an uncomfortable night out of the worst of the wind and driving rains.
The night passes without other incident, though the road is water logged and the drainage ditch is full, slowing your progress a bit. Otherwise, the air is clear, though the day continues to be breezy and overcast.
Lucius trudges on down the road, purposeful but still damp. "Not exactly the most glamorous start to life in the Marshal service", he says to no-one in particular. He travels as usual with hood up, keeping an eye out for any other travellers on the road, or any threats off the road.
He will also keep an eye out for any game that comes close to the road, feeling the need for hot fresh meat come the end of the day, hoping for a dryer night and a fire.
"Tell me, how did you all get caught up in the Marshal service anyway?", he asks those around him.

Ragnar, who walks with his hood down so he can hear the woods around him responds. "I have always been a ranger, scouting and looking out for the villages in the high country and deep woods. I was keeping the peace in a sort of way, so when they came looking for new recruits for the Marshals, I thought it couldn't be much different. So here I am, keeping our world safe and sound."
Lucius nods under his hood. Ragnar didn't seem to be like the courtly Half Elves, guarded and secretive. It was a refreshing change.
"Which lands did you keep safe?", he asks, knowing the answer should tell him Ragnar's House without asking directly. He realises he is still being the guarded courtly Half Elf himself, but in his world knowledge was power and it was still hard to give away that power.
As you chat amiably, the miles seem to go by quickly, though the weather doesn't improve noticeably. It remains overcast, slightly windy, though the day warms considerable. In the distance, you can see occasional showers (which is typical of late spring in Erias). The area also remains deserted, as it has never really been colonized. As the afternoon wears on, you you start to see trees, and by evening are in a forested area.
Before sundown, the road splits with the north by northeasterly fork continuing to follow the see, and the north by northwesterly fork heading slightly deeper inland. There is shelter here, in the form of a partially burned and abandoned Inn. The cause of the fire is lost to time, as the fire happened several years ago, and judging by the traffic you have encountered along the road (none), you can guess the proprietors probably decided not to rebuild.

Lucius nods to Nadaar, happy to have some cover for the night. However after the incident with the bees, he is more cautious. "We should be careful until we have checked this place out and made sure there are no other occupants", he says, keeping his eyes and ears peeled for signs of inhabitation.

Lucius cleans and sheathes his blade and straps his shield back on his back, happy that the threat is now gone.
”Well this party may be a bit of a random assortment of folk, but at least we can come together when needed”, he says as he resumes the journey.
