Eraleigh feels a bit more at home in a town, even a one going through rough times. He marches in with confidence and a deep smell of the air to explore the town a bit.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Lucius watches Eraleigh march off, and decides to follow and see how he handles the situation.
"I guess we are following Eraleigh", he says to the others and wanders towards the town a little way behind. He keeps a watchful eye from under his hood, looking for any other signs of blight or ill fortune, or even simply townsfolk.
(I’m sorry, I somehow missed Lucius and Nadaar’s posts entirely when I wrote eraleigh goes exploring).
“I think a quick walk about town is all I intend. We should try to be discreet, yeah? At least til we know which way the wind is blowin’. If you trust the moment is right, then say whatever you have to say.”
“Agreed. Let’s look for an or some place to hold up for the night.”
Ragnar nods in agreement, "I'll go and wander around the west of the town, see what I can find." He turns and in a gentle stride, starts to walk and look around.
Lucius nods to Eraleigh and Ragnar and walks towards the town, but stops as he gets to what appears to be the main street, keeping a close eye out as his companions look around.
Exiting off the main road and onto the village's main road, you are struck by how empty the village feels. Though night not has not fallen, no one seems to be out and about. Lights can be seen in the houses you pass, and village dogs come out to see who passes, but they seem too tired, too despondent to even bark. Spring flowers are puny, and have not yet begun to bloom, and the kitchen gardens you pass have little green to show.
In the center of town, there is finally signs of life coming from the tavern as you hear the sound of many loud voices. The sign above shows a smiling man behind a plow, and the letter proudly proclaim the "Happy Farmer". Across the street, you see the smithy's cold forge through the open door.
Nadaar says "That looks like a tavern. Maybe we can find a place to rest up for the night from them." Nadaar. if not seeing any objections, moves towards the tavern.
Muktak will follow Nadaar to the tavern. It has been an tough journey, and he wants rest.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone, there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
”I could use some hot food and wine, and maybe a spot by a fire”, Lucius says, and follows Nadaar and Muktak towards the tavern, still keeping his hood up.
He wasn’t sure what the villagers would make of the group of companions, but it was time to find out.
"Perhaps seeing your true self won't be as jarring to them as your disguise suddenly dropping? I doubt with the town in such disrepair they will be likely to turn away anyone with coin." Ragnik says rather absentmindely to Nadaar while looking towards the unlit forge. While waiting for the others to appear he wanders over to the smithy to inspect the forge. (not looking for anything in particular just being nosey)
Ragnar will continue his walk around the west side, before heading into the center of town. Perception: 22
OoC: Not sure what you are looking for here..
From inside farms and houses, you can hear the sounds of children or various ages, but curiously few adult voices.
Each of the Farms consists of a main house with wings of sheds, barns, storage and work areas, with small kitchen gardens (to provide herbs and vegetables for immediate use). The gardens contain stunted and sickly looking plants. The houses (with the exception of House 4) also have their little gardens, but lack the other structures which would make it a farm. The communal orchards lie on both sides of the town. In general, the houses are well kept, with the exception of House 4.
The Herbalists house and workshop is well kept, if not well stocked with bundles of leaves dying in the open air sheds.
The Blacksmith's forge is cold, and hasn't seen use in a couple of days or longer. The place is neatly kept with farm implements (new and repaired) hanging on the walls. Except for being cold, it is nothing you would not expect in a small farming village.

While Ragnar thinks this is odd, the plants in the gardens are an indicator to him that something may not be right. Same with a cold forge in a farming village, a blacksmith is always working on something. The lack of adults also seems to be out of place. He will head into the center of the town, and find the rest of the group.
Seeing Eraleigh and Ragnar return, Lucius steps up to the door of the tavern, briefly turning to his companions and nodding to signal readiness.
"Here we go".
He pushes the door open and takes a step through the door then moves aside to let the others through as well. He looks about the common room from under his hood, taking in the layout and reactions of the local people.
