To Lucius, "Divination is something of an art, and it does give insights into the future. Unfortunately there is a paradox to it, the greater and more specific the answer you seek, the less specific and more general the answer. And so, I sought only for help in our troubles many times, and received two answers. One, a great oak tree, the symbol of Druids. From this I deduce that the local Circle may be of help. The second, a town meeting and footsteps leading on a journey. The two together, with research leads me to strongly suspect I am right. Now, if you were to ask me what dangers are along the way, I would only be able to provide vague answers, and that only after many attempts."
Delon sighs and pulls you in closer to whisper, "But our little troubles are only grains of sand in something worse, I feel. When I sought what evil would befall the region, I received other hints more dire. A crowning in Erias; a blonde woman with blood dripping from her mouth; a black horse with eyes like fire, and a pair of horned wings such as those of a bat. Dire things of the future."
Delon sits up, as Milos returns with flagons of a wheat ale. There is a pleasing aroma (and slight taste) of sweet apples to his ale. In moments more he returns with a huge and heavy tray with trenchers of pork sausages with a spicy horseradish mustard and bowls of dumplings filled with a mix of potatoes, and mushrooms in a white sauce spiced with dill, and a platter of cooked spiced apples and cherries from last fall, and loaves of dark rye bread with apple butter. "Eat up, eat up, you'll not find the like down south," Milos informs you.
"Once you've eaten we'll go back to my house and you can stay there. I think I have enough couches for everyone. And I have an old map that may be of use to you, if I can find it," Delon concludes.

Lucius quietly tucks into the food, a bit lost in thought under his hood. The talk of the evil that will befall the region sitting heavier on him than a traveller curse. If this was true, the Ardent Soul would be called upon, and Chernoglav knew they would be ready.
He remembers his manners and calls across to Milo, "This food is very good, my thanks". He then takes a drink of the ale, it was ok but he preferred wine.

Ragnik sits quietly at the side listening to the discussion with the old wizard taking a portion of the food and ale while he does. "Do the hints of the evils mean anything to you? Would they all be linked to one event or each their own thing?" He asks to Delon.
"Well, it is usually they are related, and that one is, is, hmmmm... a marker, a signpost you might say," Delon explains, getting up as you finish your meal. The old man is slow walking, as as he progresses up the street he develops a noticeable limp.
Outside, it is full dark now and the stars and moon shine brightly. Candles and lanterns burn in the window providing enough light for the old man to see. Eventually he leads you to his house (#4). Unerringly he makes his way to the center of the room an stretches his staff to touch the ceiling and mutters under his breath. Curiously, the top of a large barrel affixed to the ceiling begins to glow, lighting up the whole room.
The room has been turned into a library, with books and scrolls covering one wall, three couches and a couple of cushy chairs are scattered about the room. He motions you to sit as he makes his way over to a shelf of scrolls. "Make yourselves comfortable. Kitchen is through there, and you'll find blankets in the closet."
Lucius wanders over to the window and looks out into the dark, his dark vision allowing him to see a few details out there.
"How long is this journey you spoke of, to where the druids used to meet?", he asks over his shoulder, keeping his eyes fixed on the night beyond the window.
"Oh, four days, maybe less, maybe more," he replies absentmindedly. "Your a healthy bunch, probably less. Ahh, here it is... not much of a map, now that I see it again. Unfortunately you'll not find a modern map with the old roads on them. The neither the King nor Count maintain 'em, though they are still in use a little. And this is so old, you don't even see the new road or the Downs. But you can still find the road a bit north of here, not hard to spot at all, the village boys say."
The mountains are known as the "Dragon's Spine" and are a branch of the much larger range to the north. This was most probably either named for a Dragonborn explorer whose name is forgotten or for the mythical creature which inhabited the old world, since none have been seen on this one since the Migration.

"Well, I shall ask in the morning, though I think it unlikely. The only one who can be spared right now from planting would be small children."
Lucius still looks out the window, not wanting to face the light and hampering his vision.
"An early start seems appropriate if we face that many more days of travel. Are you able to supply us with rations?", he asks Delon.
"I would feel better if we kept a watch, regardless of how safe we feel right now. I am happy to be first", he says to the others, and reaches out with his Divine Sense.

Lucius follows Delon to the corner table. "I take it your gifts were how you knew we were coming?", he says plainly.
"What else do they tell you?", he asks curiously, trying to figure out if this wizard had more information to share.
He listens carefully to any response, trying to determine if the wizard was being truthful and indeed telling the whole truth.
