wildred frantically looks around to see if there is anything anyone to help what seemed to be a rather exciting act spiraling out of control.
(All of this Assuming im correct that wildred is seated behind or infront of Balliol,Wildred would like to check to see if he can read the intentions of Resmae as to whether help means attack the spider (INSIGHT) at the same time looking around to see if there is any rope or device or anything that could help resmae restrain the Giant spider.(PERCEPTION).
Wildred, the Harengon doesn't look like she is attacking the spider, instead it appears she is trying to wrangle it. You can see all manner of rope, ladders, crates and other props over by the back of the stage tent next to stand G about 20 feet to your left.
Wildred would like to go for the rope he sees and attempt to help wrangle the spider in making sure its clear that this is what Resmae wants before doing so but grabbing the rope anyway.
The spider pulls hard on the rope Resmae is holding and she flies up closer to Wildred and Bugs. Looking at the little rabbit, you'd think she was having a good time, not fighting a monster ten times her size. She sees Wildred grab some rope and look like he's trying to find a way to help.
"Oy! Good sir, thank you!"she gives him a nod and yells, "Use that other ropeyou got to tie up her legs, she's pretty mad, so maybe we can just bring her down to the center towards the stage tent? Be happy it isn't Frieda over there, now she's a beast! I'll bet Bessy's upset because Uzsany usually rides her. Oh! I gotta help Uzsany!!" She hands the rope she is holding with the spider connected to it over to the half-elf (assuming he takes it)
And Resmae hops down the stairs to Uzsany yelling, "Sammy!! Where did you run off to? Always hiding when I actually need you!"

Wildred drops the rope he was holding and takes the ropes handed to him with a look of dread on his face.oh no it was happening again..after only a moment of clarity and calm, kicking back and having a laugh again here he is again!!Cast into the Madness that is the wild misters fair...it was racing Giant snails and now it was restraining Giant spiders..he admitted to himself I think I'd rather the Snails!!!turning around to look at balliol and motioning to the other rope...
"Tie the legs!!!"as he holds the restraints
He shouts at the top of his voice....
"Anybody!!"as he spots stalker in the far distance.
Not recognising his own voice accompanied by the shrieks of the crowd he couldn't tell if it was him doing the screaming. His voice was certainly quivering.
Halei approaches the clown but she is distracted, looking back at the mayhem behind her, and conflicted on whether she should stop what she's doing and help. Her mind is elsewhere, and thus her performance is greatly hindered. She's too busy looking back at the spider and bumps straight into the clown at the entrance. She's knocked to the ground with an "-OOF," and looks up in surprise at the clown in front of her. She laughs awkwardly and fiddles with her hair nervously as she replies, "H-hey! Just another clown just....trying to...get into there to..." She trails off and her eyes dart to the side while she thinks of an excuse, she really should have thought of this earlier. "...to go to the bathroom!"
Halei, just as you bump into the portly clown, the commotion caused by the spiders begins. The clown, along with everyone else in the tent focuses on the two out of control spiders in the centre ring and the clown is now distracted by what is going on.
Rasmae, you manage to grab the attention of a half-elf, dressed in wizards attire. A long red wizards robe, inconspicuous hat, large, groovy, psychedelic round glasses. He looks to you as if he will come to help and dashes off toward the stage tent. Your hands are pretty full with a wrangled spider rearing back and the distraction causes you to loose concentration and the spider pulls you forward and you land face first in the dusty ground and loose grip of your rope. Which is now tethered to a frightened and angry giant spider trying to escape.
Wildred, You see the piles of ropes, and do your best to get there. It is 20' away and there is alot of crowd going against you. But eventually you make it to the back of the stage tent. You reach down to grab one of the ropes and a purple stocking in a black boot, steps on your hand, quite hard. You recall your hand and look up to see a portly clown. "Can I help you, Lad?" the clown asks.
Stalker, moving against the retreating crowd is not easy but you have managed to make it to the bottom of Stand D and the centre ring is before you.
The other witchlight hands are struggling with the other spider in the ring. It is obvious that the carnival hands trying to subdue the spiders are not trying to hurt them.
OOC: A few assumptions here, so I have set the scene. We will run the spider encounter as combat from here. I have updated the map on the campaign page with your current positions.
Balliol watched the fight in the ring - but only sort of. He was trying to focus his attention everywhere else in case something interesting happened in the shadows. But it was a circus and thus interesting things kept happening in the ring! Eventually that included a satyr performer falling to a pair of nasty looking spiders. With much of the crowd Balliol stood up, glad for his height that allowed him to see what was going on.
Thankfully a stage hand quickly appeared to lasso and contain one of the beasts. The stage hand was . . . a harengon! She expertly lassoed the arachnid and was trying hard to keep it from pulling away. Bugs was impressed with her actions, but she was not a particularly big rabbit. Balliol was already moving as she called for help. “Sir? Giant rabbit sir? Could you please? I - I need some HELP!!”
He grinned his typical grin as he moved. "Giant rabbit?" He was elegantly tall, he knew, but a giant? That sounded . . . like something he shouldn't be focusing on right now. As he got there he found Wildred already there. He speaks to the harengon, "You direct, I'll follow." He proceeds to do whatever he can to help out in the situation.
Halei breathes a sigh of relief when the clown's eyes leave her at the sudden chaos happening behind her. She takes advantage of the distraction and slides, on her knees, around the legs of the clown and into the small tent. She scans the room for a possible place to hide for a bit if the clown came after her.
Halei, The recent distraction makes slipping into the stage tent an easy task.
Once inside you notice carnival workers running around like headless chickens. Some running past with ropes and all manner of restraint devices, you assume on their way to subdue the giant spiders. Everyone is too panicked and busy to take any notice of you.
The tent is full of props and costumes, ladders and some cages of smaller birds and mysterious little critters. There is another door at the back of the tent (also the back of the Big Top) leading to an outer area. You can see wagons and tents.
OOC: I have added an updatable link to the map with character positions above the Big Top map on the campaign page. I missed the spiders, but they are added now.
Rasmae, you are on the ground face down. You have lost the rope, and the spider is rearing back.
Wildred, your Mage Armor protected your fingers from being broken by the portly clown. A voice calls out from the centre ring, "Thaco! We need some help here!" frustrated, the clown looks at you and looks over at the ring. He steps away, forgoing the rope to you.
Balliol, you see the clown step on Wildred's hand and rush over as fast as you can, but by the time you get to him, the clown has gone.
Wildred & Balliol, the little herangon lass is face down about 30' from you. It looks like she is about to become the victim of the same fate as the faun gladiator before her.
Stalker, you saw Halei slip into the stage tent during the commotion and decide it looks like an excellent opportunity to do the same. The only problem is the giant spider thrashing on the ground between you and the stage tent, with some carnival hands trying to capture it. Just as you contemplate the best route to the stage tent, the spider frees two of its legs from the restraints and flicks a goblin high into the air (about 20'). It lands with a thud, right on the edge of the centre ring directly before you.
Clearly, these spiders are part of the carnival, and the hands are trying to subdue, not kill them.
OOC: I will run this as round to round combat. You can choose between battle or capture. If you choose to subdue the spiders, roll an Animal Handling check instead of your attack roll. Wildred, Balliol, your recent schooling in Snail wrangling gives you advantage on Animal Handling checks. Rasmea, being the Witchlight Carnival's resident animal handler, also gives you advantage.
Halei briefly eyes the little animals in the room, she'd always loved animals, and hopes to maybe get a closer look if she gets a moment. She reluctantly moves away from them and continues further into the tent and towards the door.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Resmae scrambles to get up, keeping an eye on Bessy as she does - not wanting the same fate as Uzsany. She runs to grab the rope that she dropped and try to subdue the creature. "Sammy, if you don't get your flea-bitten hide out here right now, no treats for you tonight!"
Balliol leaps to the aid of the other harengon. She was now on the ground in front of the giant spider and that just wasn't going to work out. He was tempted to ram a weapon into the thing, but based on the little ones actions that didn't seem to be the goal, even if they were giant venomous spiders! Instead he attempted to grab a rope or ropes and distract the creature and gain some hold on it. Subduing giant spiders. Sure, why not. But there was a little rabbit-lady down on the ground so the thing had better not get too feisty!
(Animal Handling - two 19s with advantage, so they become 22s.)
