The dark elf woman merely sneers at Garrin's attempt to manipulate her with fear.  At the same time, the old bugbear's face contorts in horror at the terrifying fey halfling.

Round Two:

Seeing the bugbear succumb to the fear spell, the dark elf snarls, "Pathetic, Grol.  It seems your willpower is as weak as your security."  She flicks her wrist three times and utters something that sounds like a curse.  Three rays of fire erupt from her finger tips, targeting Garrin.

Scorching Ray Attack: 20 Fire Damage: 7

Scorching Ray Attack: 13 Fire Damage: 6

If Garrin goes down, she takes a step around the table and toward the door, apparently looking to flee, only to retreat when she sees Keashirryl and T'laren still outside.  She then moves closer to Grol, keeping the table between her and Droknin.  If Garren doesn't go down, she retreats directly toward Grol [So either way, she winds up closer to the bugbear king].

T'laren curses softly at the burst of fire that impacts Garrin, sending another arrow at the elf from Neral't's position.

Attack: 12 Damage: 9

[It certainly looks like Garrin is down, with all three motes of fire impacting the halfling warlock.]

The dark elf once again conjures a magical shield in reaction to the attack, and Neral't's arrow once again pierces the magic anyway, wounding the mage.

Keashirryl rushes forward and kneels beside the gravely injured and unconscious Garrin.  She clutches her holy symbol and lays a hand on his gasping and singed chest.  "Life remains, life endures... your time is not yet come, Garrin."

[Using her Channel Divinity feature, Keashirryl restores 15 hp to Garrin, who awakens prone on the ground outside the King's chamber.]

Droknin and Garrin are up.

Realizing that the "King" is not a threat at the moment, he concentrates on taking care of the female Dark Elf. (Droknin moves clockwise, and he ends up ease of Dark Elf) "You should not have done that madam. I cannot allow this to pass."

Talon Attack: 7 Damage: 14

(Oh boy, that's going to hurt...)

Raising Talon high, Droknin brings it down on the Dark Elf.  The blade shimmers at it cleaves through her shield, cutting down through her collar and nearly splitting her in two.  She dies without uttering another word.  

Droknin barely notices that she is no longer a Dark Elf, before he feels that the snarling wolf behind him had taken an attack of opportunity as he passed by.

Bite Attack: 21 Piercing Damage: 4

Garrin rises to his feet, brushing his singed cloak and muttering the appropriate words of appreciation for Keashirryl's assistance.  Then he pounds his staff against the ground and fires off a spray of butterflys and carnations at old King Grol.

eldritch blast Attack: 12 Damage: 9

Then he takes a step back from the doorway, leaving room for Keashirryl or T'laren to enter the room if they wish.

The wolf snarls again and worries at Droknin's heel, trying to protect its friend and master.

Bite Attack: 21 Damage: 7.  On a hit, Droknin must succeed on a DC 11 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.

Finally, King Grol pushes himself away from the table and stands.  Even as old and stooped as he is, he is an imposing figure when risen to his true height.  He raises an old, ill-fated black morningstar over his head and bellows "Where are my GUARDS!?" as he brings the spiked weapon down on Droknin.

T'laren and Neral't briefly flicker and an arrow leaps from the bow towards the king.

Back in his position in the hallway, T'laren keeps an elven ear cocked towards the curtains.

((It showed briefly as 19 to hit for 10 damage, but seems gone again.))

T'laren sticks another arrow in their foe.

Keashirryl advances into the room, calling down a sacred flame on the head of King Grol.  

DEX save 17 against DC 12 or he takes 8 radiant damage.

Droknin alerted by the snarl, flickers his tail to avoid bite attack. (Reaction. Add 7 to his AC)

(Droknin takes 2+4 damage due to his Rage.)

Seen that the whatever that the Dark Elf was is no longer a threat, he concentrates on the King now.

Talon Attack: 8 Damage: 16

Tail. You grow a lashing, spiny tail, which deals 1d8 piercing damage on a hit and has the reach property. If a creature you can see within 10 feet of you hits you with an attack roll, you can use your reaction to swipe your tail and roll a d8, applying a bonus to your AC equal to the number rolled, potentially causing the attack to miss you.

(Droknin is able to avoid the bite from the wolf)

King Grol now bears two nasty sword wounds from Droknin, but he doesn't look like he is slowing down yet.

T'laren hears a commotion from the other side of the southern curtain.  Then the curtain is torn down to the floor.  A neatly ordered bunk room is revealed on the other side, as two hobgoblins appear and charge into the hallway.  They are clad in chain and have drawn their longswords.  They look first into the room where their King is locked in battle, but turn instead toward T'laren and Garrin, looking to eliminate the threat at their backs before pushing into the King's chamber.

Hobgoblin 1 Longsword Attack on Garrin: 5 Slashing Damage: 4  + Marital advantage 2 damage.

Hobgoblin 2 Longsword Attack on T'laren: 20 Slashing Damage: 5  + Marital advantage 10 damage.

The halfling warlock disengages from the Hobgoblins and weaves through their feet, relying on his small size and nimbleness to pass through their defenses, then past Keashirryl as well, ending up in the corner of the room with King Grol.

The old wolf makes another attack on Droknin...

Bite Attack: 22 Piercing Damage: 9.  If the attack hits, Droknin must succeed on a DC 11 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.

King Grol raises his dark morningstar for another attack on Droknin.  "Destroy these invaders!  Kill them all," he bellows in rage.

T'laren isn't sure that getting boxed into the room with a castle full of reinforcements on their way is his idea of a good time, but it sounds a darn sight better than that happening while he's alone in the hallway.

He flickers and becomes hazy as he swaps places with Neral't, and dropping his bow, pulls free a scimitar as his echo follows his actions both of them striking at the guard between them.

T'laren Attack: 18 Damage: 5
Neral't Unleash Incarnation Attack: 14 Damage: 5

With the entrance of the Hobgoblins. "Ahhh. Finally the party is about to start. It was a little bit boring I must say." Droknin continues to attack the king.

Talon Attack: 15 Damage: 7

T'laren and his echo both slash at the Hobgoblin guard between them.  Unable to guard against both, he fails to avoid either, collapsing from the extent of his injuries.  

Keashirryl looks about to cast a spell, but seeing one of the Hobgoblins go down, she instead raises her mace and attacks the other.

Mace Attack: 15 Damage: 4

The remaining Hobgoblin parries Keashirryl's mace easily.  He bellows in Ghukliak (Goblin):

 Then he raises his longsword and strikes back at Neral't in the hall.

Longsword Attack: 16 Damage: 8

Meanwhile, Droknin's magic sword fails to find purchase, for once, glancing off the King's hide armor.
