"Ah,it ran off- Sorry, I got confusing messages for a moment. That creature from earlier was trying to communicate again," he says at first, then turns back toward the treeline, interest in the deer evidently lost. But not this creature.
"Won't you come out? It's just me and my friend, now!"
You get a sense of startled concern as Dornikal begins walking forward, and the image snaps to clarity of what must be a current image of the deer in the underbrush watching Dornikal approach. The sending cuts off with a sense of confident mischief.
As Dornikal walks forward toward where they hear the disruption, there is a snort and rustle as a many pointed buck bounds away, quickly vanishing from sight.
Ulmwin:
The presence is back in your mind, a smug satisfaction emanating from them as they share a scene with you, the perspective focusing in on the deer, then projecting a horrific version of Dornikal, patchy beard smoking and dripping with ichor, gnarled claws clutching his sword, as fangs protrude from his face, a terrifyingly bestial version of your friend. The perspective shifts back to overhead, the deer bounding away.
You take it that the image it just shared of your dwarven companion was shared with the deer below to startle them off.
When you ask if it will come out, you get a sense of wariness, and an image shared of you of Dornikal's response to their presence in the trees the previous evening. You get the sense they want assurances that the dwarf will behave.

Ulmwin quickly reaches out hands to gesture Dornikal to calm down.
"Easy Dornikal! You're scaring it! It seems friendly, I was focusing on the deer because that's what it was trying to warn me of! But it wasn't that much of a threat, evidently," he admitted, before continuing.
"I'm not quite sure what it wants yet, but if it really had ill intent it'd be attacking us rather than trying to send messages, no? Please stay calm, or it's just gonna be scared off again."
At one point when Cojlin sees Kreldoran walking around, he will ask him what he knows about Torfelna and if he has any connections there with anyone who could help with buying and trading of magic items. While asking that question, the thought finally crashes in his head, "Do you have any interest in trading any magic with us? We as a group have several items we have acquired (That we never use or have outgrown) that you might be interested in."
"The... administration there isn't all that fond of me, but I've a few names where being an associate of mine might help you. A number of your items came from me, assuming you're not looking to trade them back, I'd be interested in what you're looking to trade."

Coljin chuckles when he states a lot of items were from him. "Yes, I don't mean those. We have some we procured a few months ago. Some from the old ruin and other's from a battlefield. Let me check with the others what they aren't particularly using, and see if you have any interest in them."
Ulmwin let's out a chuckle, and a shrug, merely stating "I know that Dornikal, but others don't," before seeming... Satisfied enough with Dornikal's presence of "calm". Which was actually less calm for a trained enough eye, but could fool most people from a distance. For his own part, Ulmwin tries to relay the thought that while the dwarf might be a bit rough around the edges, he's never the type to strike first.
There is some faint scrabbling that reaches your ears, while Ulmwin gets a sense of wary doubt, and then a flutter of mischievousness.
An acorn drops next to Dornikal from the beech he's standing next to.
Ulmwin:
Regardless of Dornikal's response, you get a sense of satisfaction from the creature, and a image that conveys that it wishes to follow you through the woods and keep an eye out for the squirrel eating buck, but that it isn't quite ready to reveal itself to Dornikal.
"It won't cause trouble. It seems maybe a bit mischievous... But more helpful than not, I'm sure."
"Anyway, if we see the deer again on the way back, we'll grab it then. Don't really want to haul it all the way over to the other group and then back again if it can be helped."
Ulmwin feels a smug sense of agreement, and the two of you proceed through the forest, emerging on the clearing, where the remains of the bulettes and the hydra have been largely handled, and are in the process of final packing on the carts. Brucho, the jovial spokesman for the group, spots the two of you and waves. "If you ever wanted to try bulette, there's a fair bit of hash left! Can't say I could recommend it other than for bragging rights though!"
Randy, it seems Kreldoran caught wind of your new venture, as his owl familiar, Fiona, lands near where you sequestered yourself to work on picking practice. She has a slender cylindrical case clutched in a talon, to which the dwarven wizard has attached a note.
I lost the key to this blasted thing, and keep forgetting to prepare the knock spell so I can open it. Somewhere I've got a wand that has the spell in it, but I don't remember where I put that either... maybe I loaned it out to someone? Anyway, I don't remember what's even in this, but if you're up for it, could you be a good lad and pop this for me? I've thought of smashing it more than once, but the craftsmanship is too good, would seem a waste.

"I don't mind either which way. You think the others would appreciate some fresh meat for the camp later?"
Ulmwin:
You get a fuzzy sense image of the deer fleeing, with some kind of questioning feeling attached to it.

((Dornikal thinks he can take ANY deer, sight unseen.))
Dornikal shrugs.
"Probably, but aye'm happy to let it run if ye are. Why'd ye even point it out if ye didn't want to get it?"
Dornikal side eyes the little gnome before moving on.

Dornikal pauses as the deer bounds away before half turning and scowling at Ulmwin,
"The invisible thing is back? The one up the tree? Why did ye lead with pig iron deer then?"
His one hand is on the hilt of his sword and his other is moving to slide into the straps on his shield.
He takes a deep breath through his nose as he scans the trees (Divine Sense), the faint green glow in his eyes flaring momentarily.
"What does it want?"
Dornikal detects no celestials, fiends or undead in his vicinity.
Ulmwin:
You get a strong sense of caution and feel that the presence is on the verge of fleeing.

Randy is currently in the library again, studying his finds and practicing with a set of picks that he found somewhere.
Dornikal gives Ulwmin a blank look and says slowly,
"Ulwmin. This is meh calm. Ye've seen meh when aye'm not calm."
Dornikal lets go of the hilt of his sword and grumbles,
"Fine, fine. Let an ambush of invisible creatures distract us with deer while they sneak up. Dumathoin's might is with meh, aye'm not worried."
He goes to a nearby tree and tries to look like he is relaxing casually (without actually relaxing casually).

"Don't be startled by that vicious assault there now, Dornikal," Ulmwin grins, before his smile softens.
"It seems a bit too shy still to come out, but will follow us, and keep an eye out for anything else in the forest. Not a problem?"
Dornikal's eyes move to the acorn and then up the tree before settling on Ulmwin again. He tries to keep the annoyance from his voice,
"Is this really something we want to encourage? If it isn't a threat aye'm happy to let on its way, but if it is going to cause trouble..."
Straightening from the tree he turns and walks towards their destination,
"Fine. But aye don't think we need its help in spotting dangerous deer."
"It won't cause trouble. It seems maybe a bit mischievous... But more helpful than not, I'm sure."
