Randy has been lurking behind Tinker and Dornikal by about 10 ft.

As the rest of the party moved deeper into the library, Coljin, having heard the panicked breathing too, discovered a hiding librarian, and after checking them over for injury, sent them to go raise the alarm.

((Coljin delayed in entering initiative, but spot in the order will be: 5 ))

Randy's attention is drawn to what he perceives as someone moving to his right. But when he looks, there is nothing visible.

Randy stares at the spot for a moment. Not seeing anything now, he turns back to main issue, but keeps the area in the corner of his eye.  He stays ready to spin towards any movement from that area.  ((Since being unseen is one of his favorite tactics, he's naturally suspicious)).

Randy moves forward to within 30 ft of the target and fires. ((Making the assumption the creature knows Randy is there and that Dornikal is still further than 5 ft out)).

Dragon Bow attack 2: Attack: 22 Damage: 18  Acid: 7

Randy's first shot slams home with a tremendous thud:  Total of 13 force damage.

As the target staggers from the hit, the second shot whistles by and burns a hole in the wall beyond.

Ulmwin is coming in from the back, and joins in the assault with a guiding bolt!

((Been a busy spring for me at school, but on spring break now, so hoping to get a better pace of things.))

Randy whallops an arrow into the robed fiend, Ulmwin adding both insult and injury by lighting them up with a bolt of radiant magics.

The creature snarls and spins around, hovering slightly above the ground as it tears a page from its tome with each hand, the book floating on a swirl of reddish purple mist or smoke. It flings the two pages outward, where they stop between the creature and the party, burning into ash, but leaving behind a glowing rune in the air that turns the stomach to look at. It snarls a command, and there is a pulse of magic, a shimmering sphere expanding outward from the runes, both spheres overlapping with the creature inside both. It turns its back on the party and resumes its search through the tomes, scanning titles.

Dornikal's charge that was begun now find arcane spheres between him and his quarry.

((Think a Venn diagram with it in the middle. I can work on a map if needed.))
