Randy suddenly stops smiling and gets a puzzled frown on his face. "Er. Hello?" He waves his hand in front of the suddenly frozen figure in front of him, getting no immediate reaction. He abruptly becomes aware that there is no sound other than his voice and breathing and NOTHING is moving. He jerks his head around with a panicked expression on his face. "Oh, fork...."
Randy waits a bit, wanting to see if there is going to be some kind of divine visitation, but nothing seems to be happening...literally. He frowns and scratches his head a minute, then shrugs. He takes a stick and writes in dwarvish on the ground where Dornikal can see it. He drives a post in the ground next to it with an arrow tied to it pointing at it. It reads "I appear to be trapped between seconds. Heading back to the tower to find Kreldoran and see if he can help." He then grins and takes a cloth and wraps it around Dornikals eyes and heads back towards the tower.
Randy and Ulmwin have slipped sideways through time, the rest of their companions and the newly met monster hunters frozen in place, even the drifting smoke hanging still and lazy in the air. Ulwmin seems to be having an existential crisis, rocking back and forth.
Randy looks on with concern before he leaves a note for Dornikal in case he unfreezes, and begins heading back towards Kreldoran's tower.
The ranger makes it a few hundred yards when he is brought up short by a chirping of a bird that flits down to a branch. It seems the world has resumed its pace.
Returning to the clearing, however, it becomes apparent the others are still frozen, except for the rocking and moaning gnome. It seems that Dornikal and Coljin have moved a bit more than the hunters? It's perhaps not unusual for Ulmwin to be stuck outside of time, given his teleporting... issues, but Randy furrows his brow trying to understand why he would be an exception.
((I'd take a History check from Randy?))

Besides the times that the party has reported some weird time issues when teleporting with you, the other time you recall a strange time stoppage bubble was when you defeated the strange sea creatures in the old sewers under Galistri, and Holger's magic interacted with the portal the creatures had ventured into this world through. Holger is back at the tower, but perhaps the other half of that equation is somehow in play here? And for some reason you and Randy seem unaffected, perhaps for whatever reason you allegedly have gotten hung up in teleports? Maybe Randy's connection to his new goddess/being? Beyond waiting it out, you aren't sure how to shake the others out of the prolonged pause....

Ulmwin thinks it over for a moment, eyes widening with some potential realization, as he quickly steps over toward Randy. Thinking about it, he could use this moment to talk about something else just as well, but, perhaps priority should come to the theory about what's going on.
"Randy, remember what happened back in Galistri? When time went all weird there with the portal? Holger was partially to blame then apparently, but I've a feeling we might be dealing with something similar here? As for why we seem fine, it might be because," he starts, trails off, and then realizes he inadvertently walked into an admission. This time around though, rather than working up an obvious excuse, he takes a quick glance around, makes sure everyone is frozen, and then lowers his voice a bit so only Randy should be able to hear him proper.
"I was meaning to tell you at least personally because you're too smart for your own good and would have me exposed sooner or later. But you could tell my 'teleportation allergy' story was horseshit, right?" he asks, and continues, already knowing the answer even if Randy had humored him before.
"Truth is back when it happened first time, my teleportation got intercepted by an entity that took an interest in me and my stories, and so we made a deal. They're not bad, obviously," he says as if it is self-evident Ulmwin would take nothing less, "But they do want to keep themselves out of the public eye. Hence I was asked to keep their existence a secret if I can, or as much as possible. But in truth, I can only keep it so hidden from our group."
"...I'll tell you more if you want or need to know another time. But for now- Maybe our unique connections gives us a bit of protection as to whatever is happening here right now..?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

A perplexed Randy looks a bit relieved to see Ulmwin moving around. " I'm not sure what happened, but the area of affect seems limited. Animal activity is normal just a short ways a way. Maybe a time elemental playing games? I think I know why I might be immune, but why are you, Ulmwin?"
Listening to Ulmwin, Randy's face becomes grave. "We'll talk more later. I think the effect may be wearing off and we're about to have some confused company."
A short while later, Randy's prediction is met, as whatever time bubble you've been existing in pops and sound and movement returns to the clearing. Dornikal and Coljin look around in a bit of confusion, having a strong sense of something being off, but your monster hunting associates carry on prepping their quarries as if nothing happened, beyond a few puzzled glances at the sky. It seems the sudden shift of the sun's position gets written off to a passing cloud blocking it momentarily as they get back to work.

Ulmwin offers a quick wry smile, recognizing Randy's worry, while hopefully affirming that all was fine. At least all was fine unless he wants to be a hypocrite, maybe- He spares a quick few words before resuming the group at large.
"Just, if there's another portal here or something... You're the expert on that field, yeah?"
Randy centers himself and extends his extrasensory presence... and feels what comes across as almost a sucking whirlpool drawing him towards the far edge of the clearing, where it slopes down into a boggy fen. There is indeed a portal of some sort in that direction, maybe half a mile.

"There's definitely a portal of some type near here. About half a mile that way." He points towards the suspected portal. "Feels strong. Almost pulls you."
He gestures to Dornikal and Coljin. "Gents, we've got a problem.... "

Ulmwin is, obviously, rocking in place, as the world is falling apart around them.
Presumably, he'll eventually snap out of it and everything resumes as normal then, though.

Ulmwin eventually snaps (ever so slightly) out of his mental state as he sees Randy walking about. Slowly collecting himself, sitting upward...
"...This isn't my fault."
"I think."

Coljin’s eyes move a very little bit. He looks around apparently, but overall stays very still and unmoving.

Dornikal looks mildly confused and offers a,
"Huh? What do ye mean lad? Aye don't feel anything pulling meh?"
(Right?)
He looks back towards the tower and then in the direction Randy indicated,
"Isn't a portal something for Kreldoran? Aye'm not much use against those. If somethings coming out of it, aye. Otherwise."
He shrugs.
"If you smack a portal with enough magic that'd ought to work, right?" Ulmwin helpfully offers.
(I could probably roll but this is funnier.)
"We need to check it out to make sure nothing is coming through. We don't want a repeat of last time."
