Dornikal would be glad to scout, he is happy to be out of the desert.
"Aye can go and take a look around today. Seems a bit later than when we left? Sun is lower than it should be. Maybe the transport wasn't so fast after all...?"
"Hmmm.... I'll take some readings, and see if I can get an estimate of how long we were frozen... speaking of which, it's likely a bit colder than you're acclimated to after the desert."

Coljin is all about seeing something other than sand and nods enthusiastically to Dornikal. He steps outside in his armor and what he was wearing to see how his armor does with keeping him warm, or if he is going to want to layer something else with it for warmth.
(In before the wizard says we've been frozen in time for three thousand years...)
Ulmwin seems quite happy to go explore the outside too. The cold will be refreshing after all the sweltering heat, although it'll certainly be a sudden adjustment...
As you follow the now familiar procedure to exit the tower, you are met with a cool, thin air. Not cold, it is still late summer, but your elevation is much higher than in the desert. A scattering of clouds dots the blue sky, and you breath deeply of the pine scent coming from the scattered conifers dotting the slopes here. Kreldoran's tower is fused with a sturdy outcropping of rock nestled into the side of the mountain, with the pine forest getting thicker down-slope, and even sparser higher up. The slope his tower is on is bald on top, but untouched by snow. To the north are larger mountains, the tops of which are festooned in white. It's hard to judge how far away they might be from here, it might be days, or it might be weeks.
To the east, you can see rolling plains, a number of which are dotted in patches of differently colored vegetation that may indicate agriculture, and in the distance, a glint of light in the afternoon sun that may be Torfelna itself.
As you're taking in your new surroundings, Zokk moves over to hum to a tree, patting its bark.

Coljin is overwhelmed by the sound of wind rustling through needles, an abrupt shift in the sounds of nature compared to the desert.
Randy, a bit more on alert, hears a somewhat distant roar and snarl, from somewhat up the mountain. After a moment, Coljin is able to pick it out as well.

It seems possible that such a water feature might be located through the forest in the general direction of the sounds, though you don't see anything from where you are, and without a snowcap, any such body of water wouldn't be melt fed.

Randy points in the general direction of the noise. "We may have company." He listens intently with one ear cocked towards the sound, trying to identify the type of creature based on the roaring/snarling.
Randy's not able to identify the creatures making the sounds, but from what he can tell, there might be a half dozen or more, and there are at least two distinctly different roars.

You recall being accosted by wyverns in one of the more mountainous regions of the Wastes, it's possible that the might live here too, but you haven't seen any tell-tale signs to indicate it's for sure wyverns, but Coljin is correct in that they do fly.

Randy agrees it would be a nice change to see something other than sand. He equips his elven cloak and accompanies the group out.

Coljin looks for any nearby creek or river. Or anything else that could be an area where people or critters would congregate.

"Huh?"
Dornikal is so engrossed in the view he isn't paying much attention.
"Ye know, this is pretty close to how meh home looks. Beautiful place! What's that about company?"

Randy looks vaguely annoyed at not being able to clarify this any better. "A moment please."
He expends a spell slot on Primeval Awareness.
((He's got the ability. Might as well use it. He's a ranger after all.))
