'The town of Buchenholz is about 5 and a half days walk and marks the western edge of the Lousumpf. If we charter a ship we could put in at Porto di Baio. It's on the eastern edge of the Lousumpf but is the closest sea port from here. It'd probably take a day, maybe two, to make the journey depending on the conditions.' he answers the first question put to him.
He scratches his chin thoughtfully, 'It was probably a hundred, maybe two hundred years ago?' he answers Ida, aware it's probably not helping his case. His mouth becomes a thin line and you get the impression he's not overly eager to share this next piece of information.
'Its real. I know where it is, more or less.' he announces, an edge of frustration in his voice. '**** it.' he curses as he makes his decision.
'I never asked you to come with me, so if you all decide to change your mind I can't gripe about it. I am not the first person to go looking for it, over the years many have tried. Some have been successful in finding the wreckage but none have been able to claim it's treasures and it's common that there's only a survivor or two.' he explains.
'We haven't been able to get a clear answer from any of them, fear of whatever they saw there has scrambled their minds by the time they've made it home. All we know is that something very very dangerous guards the wreckage. Or maybe caused it and has never left.'
'I understand if you don't want to help me but I can't express how thankful I would be for it. When I set out, I had a crew of battle hardened warriors, loyal to my father, at my back and now I'm alone if not for you.' he shakes his head.
'You barely know me, and I've come here knowing and accepting that it might be my death in order to save my father. I cannot ask you to do the same.'
"We are with you. This is about quite a bit more than we imagined when we first agreed to accompany Antonius, and I don't think any of us could walk away now, knowing what we know.
If it's a ship we need, or even a ride on someone else's, I'd suggest we sneak around and speak with the DockMaster. He'll be able to point us in the right direction."
Aldheim looks pensive, 'I think I've got a ship putting out tonight heading that way.' he answers. 'Is everything alright?' he asks, a tone of genuine concern in his voice.
Hamish, his usual quiet self, perks up at Aldheim's concern. "We're just off to find a treasure that may or may not lead us to our death. Granted, we already met a fae lord and may have uncovered a plot to destabilize Haukberg and the empire via stolen technology. Keep it on the down low, if you don't mind." He smiles without showing his teeth and throws an awkward thumbs up.
"Whatever passage costs, I'll cover. We just need to make sure no one will be telling any tales of our little group sailing with them. Can we make that work on the Ravensmast, Aldheim?" Ida smiles at him good naturedly shoves Darwin's shoulder just a bit and shakes her head at him while chuckling at his honesty and how ridiculous it sounds.
(Sorry for the slow reply, I'm once again in a limited signal situation)
Aldheim stops his getaway a few places from you and turns back. 'I can't say for sure but they're no a Confederate ship so I can't see them going round town talking about it. Hell they probably won't put back in here for a few months.'
As Hamish walks along, he suddenly looks surprised and then says out loud, "I've never been on a ship before." A tinge of nerves rises in his whispery voice as he then says, "How bad is being seasick?"
"We will do everything we can to keep you feeling okay, you may not even notice it Hamish."
Ida smiles as they get closer and starts the conversation with "Hello Sir. We'd like to talk to you about securing passage on this ship if you're headed in the direction we are. Do you have room for four passengers?"

"How many years ago was this?" Ida suddenly realized they could be trying to find something from legend, something that may not exist at this point.
'The town of Buchenholz is about 5 and a half days walk and marks the western edge of the Lousumpf. If we charter a ship we could put in at Porto di Baio. It's on the eastern edge of the Lousumpf but is the closest sea port from here. 'You barely know me, and I've come here knowing and accepting that it might be my death in order to save my father. I cannot ask you to do the same.'
“You never asked, and now you’re stuck with us”, Darwin says with a chuckle.
”In truth, I can only speak for myself, but I am with you. Family is important, I know what it is like to lose them, albeit in a different sense”.
”And anyway, I quite fancy a trip on a ship, and a ship wreck sounds intriguing”.
What he doesn’t say, is that any distraction from the fact he cannot get home will do.
To the docks?
Darwin shrugs, “So back into the city then. We really should have discussed this before”.
Not into the city, let skirt around the edge carefully. We really don't want any attention on us right now.
You arrive back at the docks and see a familiar large Dragonborn barking orders as people scurry to unload a newly docked ship.
"Like bad copper pieces, we have returned, Aldheim", Darwin says jovailly.
"This time, we have actually come to the dock looking for passage on a ship!", he adds with mock surprise.
He wanders closer and whispers, "A bit on the down low, secret like. We want to get to Porto di Baio. Can you help, discreetly?", he asks.
If Aldheim the Dragonborn had eyebrows they'd be doing some interesting things as Hamish talks.
After a pause with his mouth slightly open 'Well alrighty then...' he says, clearing his throat.
'The ship you want is the Ravensmast. Third slip down from here if my memory serves. Got a big raven painted on its sails, can't be missed.'
He then scratches his head and strolls away, entirely undecided on if he believes a word you just said.
“Much obliged, Aldheim”, Darwin says with a chuckle at the head scratching.
“I assume you will want to discuss passage with the Captain of the Ravensmast”, he says looking at Ida. “Shall we all come?”.

Perfect. Let's make a deal, Aldheim.
“I think we need to talk to the Ravensmast’s Captain for that, Ida”, Darwin whispers to her.
”Come on, it’s only three slips down he said”, he adds, moving off on the direction Aldheim had motioned.
You find the ship as advertised.
There is an elf with a high knot standing at the base of the gangplank directing people who seems to be important.
As you approach he eyes you cautiously, 'Hail, strangers.' he says with a foreign accent as you enter reasonable speaking range
