Hamish nods at the Chancellor's words. He reaches up to his unruly hair and plucks a lock from it while saying, "Okay. I'll do it. I want to know. Maybe, in a strange way, my family was right. I'm not what I thought I was."
The chancellor smiles softly, 'Thank you.' He says as he takes the sample and sets it aside. 'Now, when you return in a few days about the items you've recovered, I should have answers to this conundrum as well.' He says with a nod.
Darwin shrugs, “Nothing from me, I guess I will head back to the rangers if no-one has any jobs going”.
He turns to Antonius, “Keep in touch, would be good to get that payment after all we’ve been through”, he says then adds under his breath, “Not that I remember the worst of it mind”.
He mentally calls Caper back, who had been exploring the room under cover of invisibility. He flutters back up the short distance and wraps himself around Darwin’s neck.
If you're satisfied with the information we've brought you, then I'm satisfied. Hamish? Agnarr? Darwin? Would you like to accompany me through town to possibly give Antonius time to speak with the Chancellor regarding his work?
"Sure thing Ida, like I said, I am all done here for now", Darwin says with a smile, patting an empty seeming space above his shoulder as he leaves the room.
Hamish watches the Chancellor as he explains, then Hamish nods at Ida's suggestion. As he starts to walk towards the exit, he gently places a hand on Agnarr's arm and says quietly, "I know I haven't seen all you have, but I understand the unease. I still don't feel like I belong among these people and places." He then heads for the door, wondering when he'll get a chance to see the Chancellor through the lock of hair he provided.
I need to go home, and tell my family that I've returned as well as check on a few things. I also desperately need a change of clothes, as we all do. We have extras of everything, if you 3 would like to accompany me. Afterwards, my thought was to visit the docks to see if anyone matching Agnarr's brother's description had come into town and when. Just a thought, but I'm not sure where else to go for information.
"I don't want to intrude, but in all truth I have nothing to do really. So if you don't mind some company, I will come with. I am not sure you will have extras of clothes my size, so might need to go shopping on the way mind", he says with a happy chuckle.
"I'd like to come along and get some new clothes, if that's all right. And I've honestly been curious as to what a home for a noble looks like on the inside."
You are more than welcome, but allow me to introduce you so there isn't any confusion about who you may be.
Ida turns and leads the way to her home. Her parents have always been people of means, but they've never lived in the largest or most elegantly decorated homes of the nobles. She does enjoy their manor, as she's lived within the grounds all of her life and she knows many of it's secrets. The main home is made of a beautiful cream stone and stretches 3-stories high. The family has extensive gardens which line pathways and the front of house which created a welcoming feeling. Ida rarely went to the main house now, only ever to see her parents or if she was expected to attend something. Her rebellious nature had led her parents to graciously allow her to live elsewhere on the grounds, hidden from the view of anyone visiting the family. Her cottage was her own, but it was built to look like an outbuilding so no one would be the wiser that she didn't live with the family. If one were to look at it, it looked like it was possibly where horses were kept and shoed since there was a small stable on the far end. But Ida had done that so she could always have a horse nearby if needed. The cottage itself was immaculate inside, and neatly decorated with a small foyer, a formal sitting area that her mother insisted on for when she came to visit, a small kitchen for quick meals, a large storage space similar to massive built+in closet and over half of the entire area of the cottage was dedicated to her bedroom and bath.
“You have a lovely home Ida”, Darwin compliments her. “You are very fortunate to have somewhere so nice where you belong. If I have to be stuck somewhere, I could do far worse than this city of yours”, he says with a smile.
As she gives the tour, his mind drifts to thoughts of the issues at hand.
”You think your brother might really be in Haukberg as Ida suggests, Agnarr? You must have so many questions for him. Whatever he is up to, we’ll find out”.
Hamish takes in even the cottage with eyes full of wonder. He can barely imagine having a place to call his own, but especially one as nice as this. He finds a spot to sit after the tour and listens to what Darwin says, then looks at Agnarr. "And why would your brother be working with Volen to capture Antonius and create weapons? Is there a reason he would seek to attack Haukberg or another city?"
Agnarr furrows his brows. 'I don't know.' he answers the first question put to him.
He purses his lips in thought...and then shrugs.
'My brother wants the throne of the Suðureyjar...the southern isles.' he explains, 'That is what he's been driving for for years now. Perhaps he thinks returning to our ancient habit of Viking will win him favor in the votes? Haukberg would be a fine gem for any raider to claim, but not such an easy nut to crack, no?' he smirks, 'i've seen enough of this city to know that, so perhaps he hopes to weaken the city by distracting it with Volen.'
Darwin paces back and forth, too restless to sit still. As he does so, Caper takes to the air and perches atop the cottage, still invisible but if he were visible he would be looking bored.
"I think Ida's idea of checking of the docks is a good one. We can see if someone has come in on a ship matching your brother's description and also see if any sailors have seen ships close to shore with the markings of these Southern Isles of yours", he says confidently.
"What about your task Agnarr, you were here for a reason right?".
Agnarr nods, his jaw set, 'yes. My father fell I'll and it is said that there is a powerful being that possesses the cure living in the Lousumpf. I plan to travel there and acquire the cure for him.'
'I doubt you'll find a ship bearing our markings. Because of our history of our ships being a sign of violence off the coast, our vessels that intend to dock on the mainland tend to travel incognito.'
A large black dog with an impressive beard and fluffy legs comes bounding up to the party. It body checks Ida in the knees.
Hamish listens and racks his mind trying to remember if he's ever heard of Lousumpf and what might be there. But his recollection is thrown off by the sudden appearance of the dog, initially frightening him, but then filling him with glee at the big, fluffy canine.

Darwin listens to The Chancellor closely, now a little worried about so many people knowing his name, and possibly having parts of him.
He stays quiet though and simply watches as Hamish agrees to find out more about himself.
The chancellor smiles softly, 'Thank you.' He says as he takes the sample and sets it aside. 'Now, when you return in a few days about the items you've recovered, I should have answers to this conundrum as well.' He says with a nod.

You get the impression he is somewhat uncomfortable in this setting.

The party heads back into the town and heads east, crossing the bridge between the upper ward and artisans ward

Ida, would you care describe your home?
