Agnarr ensures that the pay and repairs are arranged for. He also uses this time to purchase a map of the surrounding areas for his quest. He musters with the party to begin exploration.
'Legend has it that the ship is wrecked somewhere around here.' he tells them circling an area on the map. 'But it may not be easy to find.'
Can I get Survival checks from everyone as the party heads into the swamps of the Lousumpf
The party begin their perilous journey into the swamp, with it's thick foliage and oppressive humidity. Agnarr is dripping sweat from his beard half an hour in.
Then, quite suddenly, Agnarr, Ida and Darwin all drop suddenly. Agnarr and Ida drop chest deep in murky muddy waters.
Darwin, I'm going to need a dexterity saving throw to try and grab something before you go beneath the water line.
Darwin hits the water and scrabbles for the dry land he just left but can't find any purchase and disappears beneath the murky water.
The water has a deep and cloying layer of mud at it's base.
'I'm stuck!' Agnarr exclaims. He thrusts his hand down looking for Darwin. He finds the back of his armor and tries to heave him up but the sucking power of the mud is too much. 'Ida, help me get him up.' he says.
Ida reaches to where Agnarr is and pulls tries to wrestle with whatever has him held. She feels him break free and pulls his head above the water. "Are you okay?? Can you breathe?!?! Say something!" Ida asks frantically.
Agnarr pulls himself up onto the shore and consults the map, compass and other tools. 'I think we may have made a miss calculation and need to readjust our course.'
As Agnarr is talking, Aoi spots a ripples moving across the water heading for the party, and it's moving quickly.
"There's something coming toward us, and it's moving fast. Get to your feet." Aoi shouts to the party while pointing in the direction he sees the ripple.
"Get higher on the shore! Darwin, get behind me! Hamish, be ready! Aoi, weapons ready!" Ida yells as she tries to scramble and make sure everyone is facing the possible threat head on.
Hamish is still lost in his thoughts as most everyone else plunges into the muck. As they scramble back to solid ground, he chides himself, Get out of your own head. There's friends to help here. When Aoi points out the ripple in the water, Hamish lets the magic flare around his hands into a shimmering mass of energy.
Hamish lets the power well up in his palms and form a bolt of chaotic energy that lances out to strike the beast, but goes wide as his footing slips into the mud.
Ida steps closer, her battle-axe in both hands. She tries to steady herself and swing down on the neck to separate the head from the body. She severs something an it stops moving as the axe breaks through cleanly.
Agnarr kicks the deceased Crocodile back into the water and grunts. 'We need to be careful in these swamps. Something tells me that our scaly friend here is probably the least threatening thing here.'
Aoi sheathes his shortswords, chiding himself for taking so long to pull them free. He had been the first to spot the threat, yet the last to be ready for battle. At Agnarrs call, he refocuses his attention on the surroundings, while keeping one hand on his weapon.
Hamish is too distracted by the humidity, muck, and the corpse of the beast before them to be much help. He looks up and rasps, "These are common here?"
Agnarr glances at Hamish, 'It would appear so.' then turns to Darwin, 'No roads in the swamps, and I guess we could take a boat but the water is deceptive and we'd be about as likely to run aground as to be run down by one of those.' he gestures at the remains of the crocodile that is slowly dyeing the water around it a pale red.
Ida and Aoi help Agnarr plot a course and then the party takes off hiking through the clingy air.
After several more hours of rucking, they come across a figure sitting against the base of a tree.
They're covered in grime and dirt and their pants are streaked in red. Their elven long ears are clearly visible outside their cap. They cough and shudder as you first see them, but they have no seen you.
Hamish's eyes widen at Agnarr's confirmation, but he says nothing in response. As they travel, Hamish uses his magic to try to make the ground a bit more solid where they are walking ((casting Mold Earth as they travel to try to make things just a smidge easier, especially for Darwin)). At the sound of the cough, Hamish drops into a crouch behind a large plant and peers through the leaves at the figure ahead of them.

Darwin surfaces coughing and spluttering and gasping for breath.
He looks for all the world like a drowned rat.
When he regains his composure, he simply says, “Thanks”. He then slumps down on some firm ground looking dejected and wet.
"Well, we knew we'd end up getting wet eventually. Is everyone okay? Agnarr this doesn't happen to be the way we need to go is it?"
Agnarr pulls himself up onto the shore and consults the map, compass and other tools. 'I think we may have made a miss calculation and need to readjust our course.'
As Agnarr is talking, Aoi spots a ripples moving across the water heading for the party, and it's moving quickly.

Darwin scrambles to his feet and scans the water for whatever it is Aoi is speaking of.
"Stay alert Caper", he telepathically sends to the Faerie Dragon, who is flying above and keeping an eye on proceedings.

A Crocodile bursts from the water, leaping onto the land, jaws snapping at Darwin but coming no where near.
Agnarr pulls his hammer and swings his hammer down two handed at it's head bludgeoning it.
Hamish is up next.
Hamish lets the power well up in his palms and form a bolt of chaotic energy that lances out to strike the beast, but goes wide as his footing slips into the mud.

((Survival 5))
Darwin barely concentrates on where they are going, more focussed on wringing the swamp water out of his sleeves and hair.
"Ok, this is not what I signed up for, is there not a better way to get where we are going? Maybe a road, or take a rowboat?".
"What do you see from the air?", he telepthically asks Caper, who flies up and reports.
