Aoi notes the figures apparent state of disarray and considers approaching them, but decides to wait and see what the rest of the party would like to do. Upon seeing Hamish crouch behind a large plant, Aoi moves behind a tree trunk and starts looking at the surroundings to see if there is anyone, or anything, else in the area.
Ida keeps trying to determine the best action, but simply can't due to the surroundings. She looks to the rest and shrugs a bit, trying to convey dilemma. She is glad Hamish is hidden, and Aoi appears to be doing the same. She gestures to Darwin to remain next to her and for Aoi to stay back with Hamish. She trudges forward and offers a smile and begins with "Are you hurt? Do you need help?" as she gets closer.
The Elf is startled when you address them. They look up and you can see their skin beneath the dirt and muk is a shade of tree bark but paled, as if the color had leaked out. Androgynous features look up at you in mild confusion.
'Dragons. Walk the shadows like men.' they say, or at least that's what Ida and Agnarr think he said while Darwin is left a little lost, eyes clearly unfocused as they don't look directly at either of you.
'Is that Elvish?' Agnarr asks, thinking he might have mistranslated in his head based on what was said. 'They're bleeding, heavy.' Agnarr says suddenly.
Hamish turns and whispers to Aoi, "I don't meant to be presumptive, but does that mean anything to you? 'Dragons. Walk the shadows like men.' That an elven thing?"
Aoi glances at Hamish while continuing to keep an eye on the surroundings.
"If it is an elven saying, it's not one I'm familiar with. This is just speculation, but it sounds to me like he's saying there are dragon-like creatures sneaking in this area. They could be well camouflaged, or possibly stalking and ambushing anything they come across."
Aoi gestures to the figure while continuing, "Something messed him up pretty badly after all, maybe he's trying to warn us."
Hamish's eyes widen at Aoi's interpretation. He whispers in his rough voice, "Maybe we should stay together, then. Don't want something to ambush us while we're separated." He steps out of cover slowly and approaches at a gentle walk, staying aware of the jungle around them as he joins Ida and Darwin, but still a little spooked to focus.
Aoi follows right behind Hamish, drawing his longbow and an arrow while he moves. He notches the arrow, but keeps the bowstring relaxed while peering into the jungle.
Upon hearing what the figure mutters, he says just loud enough for everyone to hear, "Metal rain might mean we're about to face some arrows."
Aoi can see that there's no signs of any imminent threats. There is one set of trails, approximately six distinct humanoids, coming from the south west, heading north then another singular track coming back from the north leading to the Injured Elf that is marked with blood. The party approached from the south east.
Aoi's honed elven senses, when focussed appropriately, can hear the faint sounds of mostly still water being disturbed slightly by wild life coming from the north.
The rustle of trees as made by small wildlife can be heard all around.
Aoi identifies that the Elf is a female Wood Elf, likely of the tribes that live in the woodlands up and down the eastern mountain range of the continent, and also in these swamps. Her breathing is shallow and rapid and her skin is paled confirming the massive blood loss and shock the elf is in.
"On second thought...," Aoi mumbles and puts away his bow and arrow. He relays to the others the lack of immediate danger and the information he's gleaned from his observations of the surroundings.
"We should treat the Wood Elf first, she might be able to tell us more once she can speak coherently."
Ida steps in to treat the figure, as best she can. "Please stay still, I'm going to try to help you heal." she says in elven and moves to put her hand on their shoulder.
The elf seems to relax when you tell her that you haven't seen the dragons.
'There's a ship, about half a click north, it looks like it ran ashore a long time ago. My squad and I investigated but were ambushed by Dragons. They looked like dragons, but they were much smaller and walked on two legs and they had no wings. They killed all the others, I managed to escape but, well, you found the state I was in.'

Darwin sullenly trudges through the swamp until they reach the elf, throwing a smile at Hamish every time he helps firm up the ground beneath him.
As he sees the elf for the first time he simply says, “He looks how I feel”.
He looks to Ida assuming she is going to want to help him.
Caper checks the area from the sky whilst invisible.

The tree coverage is significant and there is a dense undergrowth, so Caper can't get a super clear image of the surrounding area.

Darwin moves forward with Ida, using the opportunity to try and clean himself up a bit as he goes.
"I really hope this is not some elaborate ambush", he says idly, loud enough for the Elf to hear.

Darwin looks at the Elf and Agnarr a little perplexed.
"Ok, not sure I understand what you are talking about. You feeling ok?", he says to Agnarr.
He looks about to see if there is any explanation for the strange behaviour. Maybe some hallucinogenic plants or the like.
He calls Caper back to him, to sit on his shoulders.

There doesn't appear to be anything hidden or untoward. It is apparent that the red that is streaking the figure is blood.
Aoi glances at Hamish while continuing to keep an eye on the surroundings.

Hamish doesn't see anything else of note.
The figure coughs and those close enough see a fine mist of blood.
'Dragons...metal rain...' the figure mutters, consciousness clearly slipping.

“An excellent suggestion”, Darwin says in approval of Aoi.
”I could use a breather anyway”.
He asks Caper to do a bit of scouting in a circle around them, keeping invisible and as high up as possible, just to check.
Ida steps in to treat the figure, as best she can. "Please stay still, I'm going to try to help you heal." she says in elven and moves to put her hand on their shoulder.

The Elf draws a sudden sharp intake of breath and you can see their pupils expand rapidly. They blink at the party blankly for a moment.
'Thank you.' She breathes. 'Did you see the Dragons?' She asks, looking around worried.
"We saw no Dragon's, Miss", Darwin replies.
"What exactly did you see? What did this to you?", he asks.
The elf seems to relax when you tell her that you haven't seen the dragons.
