Viktor getting a gut feeling, heads deeper into the temple to take a closer look at something that has caught his attention.

Viktor: There's some sort of symbol written on the temple wall in blood!!

(OOC: if the symbol is from a language and is not a code, then when touching the surface it is written on, Viktor would know its meaning through Comprehend Languages)

Viktor walks up to the where the symbol is dripping and reaches out and touches the wall to the side of the symbol.

"My friends......you may want to come and see this..."

Viktor a spark of recognition fills your mind.

Soren and Baltus join Viktor at the wall looking at the symbol curiously as well as the language that just looks like gibberish to them. They look at Viktor curiously awaiting his explanation.

OOC: Arcana checks can be rolled by magic users.

"This is written in Abyssal, I think. I can read the words, but I don't know what they are..."

Viktor points to a series of smaller symbols around the outside of the overall larger circler design.

"I suspect I cant understand them, because they may be names, let me think..."

History check to recognise the Abyssal: 14 (with disadvantage)

Arcana check to possible recognise the overall circler symbol: 10 (with disadvantage)

Pyra follows the others to the bloodstained wall. She frowns at seeing the symbol.

"My word. How disrespectful, desecrating the temple like this. Hmm." She says, moving closer too it to get a better look.

"Yes Viktor you are right. I too recognize this script but I don't understand what it is saying."

Arcana check for the large symbol:15

Krayne surveys the temple, was a passing interest in religions other than his own beliefs he doesn't really know what to expect to but examines the things other people are commenting on. 

Viktor and Pyra: It's a teleportation symbol with the name of a city which Viktor then realizes it's a city name in the Western Heartlands near your home! The symbols you both understand can be used in a desperate situation for a quick escape but has a high risk of failure which the user could be trapped between planes of existence!

Kryane are you investigating as well or just listening to you party members? 

Baltus then looks around for something to remove the symbol as Soren walks up to it and throws a waterskin on it, the blood sizzles as it drains down the wall. Soren then takes a cloth from her bag and scrubs the wall clean as best she can.

"Someone in this village is going to pay for the state of this temple," the barbarian growls taking the cloth out with her as she stomps out of the temple with Baltus hot on her heels!

OOC Aerlian is busy elsewhere ;) but Krayne is not actively investigating, just trying to learn from the others. 

OOC: I KNEW it was going to happen sooner or later LOLz

Viktor cries out as Soren destroys the symbol with water and elbow grease

"NOOOOOO! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?!? You bunch of BACK WATER SIMPLETONS!! How can anyone expect to learn anything in this place!"

Viktor storms off in a furry, before he says anything else he may regret.

Viktor finds a quiet corner and takes out his black book, that he keeps his notes in, and starts to draw the symbol in it, to the best of his ability, while his memory is still fresh.

(OOC: this has been building for a while, first the evasiveness of the Gunnulfs in regard to the full details of what's going on, then the destruction of evidence from the first battle, and now this. there is only so much Viktor can take.)

OOC Viktor has been awarded all my awesome points for the evening, sorry none left for anyone else :)

Krayne looks stunned at the outburst from the tiefling who had been so calm until now. Muttering under his breath "always the quiet ones" he goes off to do some investigating of his own while he waits for Viktor to copy things down.

Investigation 8

"We're going for the elders," Baltus explains to the party after Viktor's outburst. 

He and Soren do not apologize however for removing which was basically graffiti to them on their God's temple. Soren holds her anger too for someone who actually deserves it.

Kryane you don't find anything but can weigh your opinions on what others have found.

OOC: Are we splitting the party? I am assuming Viktor's 'cooling off' away from Soren and Baltus who are leaving to find the elders in the Boatwright's Guild Hall, area 10 on the map from area 2 where the temple is located.

Ooc: I never recommend splitting but now might be a good time for that drink and to listen to some rumors at the tavern.

(OOC: Sorry! I would have posted more last night but I passed out after taking some medicine. fell into a twelve hour sleep and only woke up after someone checked on me. Good news is that I feel a lot better now though.)

Pyra lets out a heavy sigh as Soren muscles her way to the symbol and doesn't really react as Soren destroys it, its not the first time her study has been interrupted. What shocks her though is Viktor's outburst. She flinches and stares wide-eyed as he stalks off. She looks between Viktor, the other two from his group, and then to the retreating forms of Soren and Baltus. Her hands twists the cloth of her robes as she decides what to do. Giving one last look at where the symbol used to be, she walks slowly after Viktor. As she gets closer to him she hunches her shoulders, curling in on herself and allows her tail to rest limply between her legs, trying to give herself the appearance of submissive, nonthreatening animal.

"Viktor?" She calls out quietly to the other tiefling. "Are you well? I know I have not know you long enough to truly say this, but that outburst seems..out of character for you." She eyes him, nervously in case it seems like he'll repeat his earlier actions.

"I do apologize for Soren's actions. She can be a little forceful and narrow-minded, but she has a good heart. Sometimes she just can't see the forest for the trees. If you know what I mean."

OOC Let's split up!

Krayne turns to Ursal "If they are going to go with the locals to the Guildhall we could go and investigate further in the town, I liked your idea about going to the tavern. Let's do it."
