Stor turns and follows the others as they begin walking down the red carpet. “I wager this representative can be found at the end of this hall. Perhaps she can tell us more about what exactly they are trying to find.”
Opening the door you find an oldish gnome, whose looks somewhat resemble those of a dwarf, who looks up from a table set to one side of the small room. The red carpet continues through the room, and to a door on the far side. Through a window, next to that door, an Ironhand soldier can be seen standing at attention, his back to the window.
"Welcome." the gnome says in an old and high-pitched male voice. "I am Armur Jasperin, representative for the people. Please have a seat and we can get the interview started."
“Tamera’s blessings upon you”Stor nods a greeting to the gnome. He was expecting the representative from House Lisprolis, not the people. Interesting. Stor takes another glance around the room, his eyes taking in the door at the other end of the room and the Ironhand guard, and takes a seat next to Corgretor. “I am Stor Hornraven. How may we serve? And exactly how does this interview process work?”
He walks over to a chair, but does not sit just yet. "Perhaps someone thought it would be amusing to change the signs at the other end of the hall. Your sign was on the green carpet. This door corresponds to the red one."
The gnome nods to those who take seats, waiting for all to be seated before answering questions. He glances to Tel'ure though... He looks confused and says, "I guess destiny decided you should come to me. I don’t think I appreciate knowing you wanted someone else.”
The madwalker scientist shakes his head, taking a seat at last. “I merely pointed out that the signs are wrong. Someone intending to find your group might end up at the door of the Ironhand Group, for example.”
He smiles. “But regardless. Destiny, as you put it, Mr. Jasperin. Do continue.”
(Want to give a bit longer for any further responses to the representative's last statement. If you are good with things as they are, then let me know and I'll move forward either tomorrow or when I get responses from the rest of you.)
Corgretor hesitates for a moment, then rises and to turning to his associates, "Destiny or not, I would rather stick with my own choices than accept those made by a random accident. But I will remain by my team, do you all wish to stay here?"
Destiny? Stor’s eyebrows arch as the people’s representative mentions the word. Perhaps, he thinks to himself, Perhaps not. Stor leans forward in his chair “Maybe not an accident, Tamera’s hand guides aid to those in need of courage and resolve. Let’s hear him out. Master Jasperin, what do the people seek?”
He collects himself, looking around at the group of you. He jots down some notes then nods.
"The city is not in as good a shape as it could be. Expanding into the southern lands that just became available would be a nice way to have more farms and sell more to neighboring cities, especially the Capital. This could help rebuild the southern district, which was destroyed in the last attack from aberrations that stampeded out of the Wasteland."
He rifles his papers then continues...
"Although Ahimoth lies in the middle of a straight line between Arcana and the Capital, due to numerous water bodies in the way, any road coming from the west and the Capital must travel east for several miles before turning south. With the eastern lands going to an investor with deep pockets, Ahimoth could lose its healthy commercial position and become isolated from the rest of the world. Therefore, securing the fertile lands south of Ahimoth is more a matter of survival than enrichment. The city and its people depend on the influx of resources that come in through its trade routes. Thus, the Team is needed for many jobs to revitalize the region, drive away or bring to justice criminals who have started to pop up, secure roads and crops, rebuild destroyed parts of the city, and help build structures not only in Ahimoth but in the lands around the city and maybe even to the north."
Tel'ure, suprisingly, leans forward in interest. "Indeed, a worthy goal. However, I must ask about these abberations. They happens to be the subject of my current research, and an opportunity for closer study could be just what I need. Any amount of work would be worth the opportunity, for myself at least."
"Do tell. What do they look like? What of their behaviorisms?"
The gnome frowns. "They are aborations." He says. "As to what sort of aborations, that is not really a matter for these interviews. Do you have any further questions for me?"
"This is your chance to ask questions of me." The representative says with a sigh. "I gave you the base details of what the people need, why they need it, and what we want you to do to help with it." He shrugs. "No decisions are made today, it will mostly depend on your team's ability in the trials as to what happens after this." He reaches to a bell on the table. Ringing it he settles back.
A moment later the door opens, the Ironhand soldier opening it from outside and waving you out. "Come along now, there are other teams who need to be given the chance to talk with the representatives." He explains.

The carpet leads to a closed door. To either side you see the ends of the other two carpets, both also leading to closed doors. What do you do?

Tel'ure chuckles. "How considerate. An opportunity for those with second thoughts."
He opens the door in front of the red carpet.

“That’s it? You have no questions of us, is the interview process over?” Stor asks in confusion “What happens next? Do we have a say in the matter?”
