"DO YOU LIKE SMUT?"
He rummages in a pocket and pulls forth the poetry, giving the rat man a sampling both of the Myco Poet's work, and the more refined Fungal Muse that rides on his shoulder.

The L.B. is appalled, to say the very least. After a long string of curses, he eventually calms down.

The rattus faber gives Ezra an apprehensive look as he is freed, then quickly scampers up, into the hole. Before he disappears into the darkness, he turns around one last time.
"Don't worry about the hole. Not like the guards care, anyway. If yew finds somethin' yew might think is worth our while, we kin talk. 'til then, don't yew be stickin' your hand where it don't belong."
Then, he disappears up into the shadows, and is gone.

Ezra will step out and find Damien, bringing him up to speed on the conversation if he somehow didn't manage to overhear Ezra. He'll also look around for Croup, to see if he has any insights on what a colony of rattus faber might find worthwhile.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Far below the prison the lights of Fallen London shone like a myriad of stars. It was a beautiful view, not like anything he had back home or could truly see during his years in the streets, yet Damien did not pay them much attention. Instead, he occupied his eyes searching for any sign of the supply dirigible. Their best hope was the Dapper Underworld Boss, but they had no control whatsoever of when or even if the man was truly going to help them. It was wiser to do whatever was possible. It was better to scape New Negate a moment sooner than later.
His watch was interrupted by Ezra’s voice. Surprised, the warlock listened attentively as the clayman narrated the unconventional encounter with the Rattus Faber. That was a window of opportunity, he knew. They could bargain or even coerce the rodents into helping. Their presence also gave him an idea of how Croup had arrived in his cell.
“The Faber would have helped a lot if he at least said what could be worth his while besides speaking to the Warden.”There was but only thing he could think about. “Maybe we could offer to deal with some of the Snuffers. Going by what the Undertaker said they are a problem to everyone. We may be a solution that does not risk the tunnelers.”
Notes: Damien would have been watching from the window in hopes to catch a glimpse of the dirigibles if possible. In case it is necessary, Perception check below.
"I AM SORRY DAMIEN, I NEGLECTED TO ASK HIM ABOUT THE SNUFFERS. HE MAY HAVE BEEN A VALUABLE SOURCE OF INFORMATION. I DOUBT THEY ARE BUSINESS ASSOCIATES, IF WE FIND A WAY TO DEAL WITH THEM, WE CAN TRY TO MAKE AN ARRANGEMENT. I WILL LEAVE THAT HOLE ALONE FOR NOW, BUT ONE OF THE BARS ON MY CELL IS LOOSE, I WILL TRY TO GET IT TO WHERE I CAN PULL IT FREE, UNLESS THERE IS ANYTHING HERE YOU WISH ME TO LOOK AT?"
Ezra doesn't want to down play the shiv after their efforts to get it, but a heavy bar he can swing with direct force is more Ezra's style.
"HAS YOUR VIGIL REVEALED ANYTHING OF AN ESCAPE?"

Damien sees nothing but the dimming streetlights of false-dusk, as Fallen London settles down to rest for the night, and the eerie twinkling of the false-stars above, shining their moonish light onto the black waters of the Unterzee.

“Don’t beat yourself over it, big guy. You made quite the find and on the heat of the moment, taking with the Fabber and trying to think about something to offer I am not sure I would have thought about mentioning them.” He was more likely to take advantage of the fact the rodent could not escape his grasp to torture the poor bastard. “Not to mention the connection for information remains. Remember what he said? ‘If yew finds somethin' yew might think is worth our while, we kin talk. 'til then, don't yew be stickin' your hand where it don't belong’. I take it means you just need to mess with the tunnels to get their attention, to find someone to talk with and make the offer. Something that may be better to try tomorrow, lest they feel too bothered and uncooperative.”
Besides the next day could end the necessity to put what little security they had in their cells at risk by offering service to the Fabers. Maybe we should speak with the devils. He pondered to himself as his taller friend asked about his watch.
“Sadly no.” Damien admitted taking a fast glance towards his window. “Either we are far off the time of any dirigible arriving or leaving the stalactite or the view from my window simply don’t reach the docking route. Anyhow, your idea of loosing the bars seems great.”
"THANK YOU. IF WE THINK OF SOMETHING FURTHER TO OFFER THEM, I CAN PLACE IT NEAR THE ENTRANCE AND TAP TO GET THEIR ATTENTION. BUT MORE THAN ONCE HE THREATENED VIOLENCE. I ASSURED HIM I WOULD NOT PERMIT VIOLENCE ON ME OR ANY OF THE OTHERS IN THIS BLOCK."
