"Indeed, this is a very good find," Josiah agrees as he inspects the clear pool. He gives the two an amused half-grin. "We just might make rangers out of you two yet."
Josiah will also see about drinking his fill before refilling the canteens.
You refill the used canteens Josiah, they are full of clear, fresh water.
Torla, you take 10 minutes to pray. Asking your patron just what exactly is this thing. Over time you come to know that whatever it is, It is not poisonous nor holds a disease.

Torla, you take a sniff and struggle to keep what little food you have in your belly down. It is a rancid smell but a familiar one, this is the smell of Decomposition. Something was locked inside the canteen and died, over time it decomposed into this foul gunk. Whats curious is the size of the canteen, while it could hold a small creature the opening comes to a very narrow hole. Whats more, there is no sign of bones in the canteen at all.

Torla pulls the canteen away from her nose violently, holding it at arm's length and turning her head with a slight gag. "Oh!" she says, placing her free hand to her lips. She pauses, squeezing her eyes shut for a few seconds before opening them and looking at the canteen, still holding it as far away from her nose as possible. "Something has ... died in there," she groans. She very deliberately closes the canteen and hands it back to Bean. Smoothly — clearly trying to not jostle her stomach too much — she stands and walks to the clean pool of water. Before drinking, she splashes cool water on her face.
Constitution saving throw Torla to see if you are able to keep your lunch down.

Torla you try your best to keep your stomach in check but the smell of the liquid from the canteen is just too much for you to handle. You are just able to turn away from the fresh water before you wretch all over the ground. Spilling the contents of your stomach on the dirt and leaves.
The rest of you see Torla's face go pale for a moment before turning a slight shade of green, moments before she empties her stomach.

"Died in the canteen you say?" Josiah questions, his curiosity piqued. "Mind if I take a look?"
Nature: 4(to see if Josiah recalls any sort of creature here on the island that would be small enough to fit into the mouth of the canteen and also not leave behind any bones as it decomposed. Let me know if I should roll again for advantage due to Josiah's familiarity with the island in general.)
Tyrvan shies away from Torla, going slightly green in the face as he does so. He then shudders as Josiah takes another look in the canteen, "Why are all of you obsessed over what is in that canteen. It's obviously foul, yet you keep sticking your noses in it."

Josiah you look into the canteen and instantly know why Torla could not keep her stomach in check. The smell is beyond foul, thinking of the animals you had encountered on the island you cant actually think of one that is small enough to fit inside the canteen and not leave behind any bones. You come to the conclusion that while something did decompose in it, it was not an animal. More likely it was a piece of flesh.

Josiah, glances at the contents of the canteen only briefly before pulling it out to arm's length. His face is thoughtful, pondering.
"I can't recall any creature on this island that would both fit in here and not leave bones...if I had to guess, I'd say it as a carved piece of meat, although why someone would store such a thing in a canteen, I...I'm not sure."
