"You probably won't believe me, but verything going on here is apparently much bigger than we thought," Josiah responds firmly, motioning towards the water. "According to Bean, there is a creature trapped at the bottom of that lake that hearkens back to the dawn of creation itself, and which has the power to manipulate the fabric of time and space." He gives Imras, Torla, Tyrvan, and Brythel a long hard look.
"The four of you have all been standing here frozen for the last two hours, along with everything else around us."
Torla jumps as Bean and Josiah are immediately in different places. Bean had been almost floating in a crater of water, which now collapses on itself, sending a spray of water into the air above the lake. "Silver Bean ..." she says, looking at the gnome sitting with a book. "What is that book?" she asks worriedly as Josiah and Irmas are also speaking. It's pandemonium! "What's going on?" She looks at Josiah, his words finally catching her attention. "What? What do you mean? We were watching Bean in the lake just like you and then ... and then you moved. We weren't frozen." As if she doesn't believe her own words, she looks at her hands and arms and then touches herself to test whether her body feels normal. She looks back at the lake and then at Bean again. "Was that book what was glowing under the water? How did you get it? How did you get over here?"
Bean tries to choose his words as to not sound silly. "This book was a sword hilt josiah saw floating in the water. When i touched it i apperantly unlocked a new kind of power in this world, im still trying to understand it. Not that two hours have helped too much."
"But i have figured out a couple small things. Like this."
Bean will run up to the edge of the water and use the shape water cantrip twice. Once to form and second to freeze.
And it takes a bit of fumbling but bean waves his armes in odd circles and angles.
Creating a ice and snow replica of Korrigan the panther.
Bean will smile to himself. But a shadow falls over his mood, "oh yea, there is also a prophecy about my and josiah atleast, possibly even you guys. Im considered a Marked (definition unknown). And he *pointing to josiah* is considered a Deathless (somewhat self explanitory but not finely defined)."
Bean continues as he steps twards the group. "Well, you were right torla, it seems i do have some unknown loyalty to josiah, because i am destined to follow him."
Bean changes his expression again. Using the shape water cantrip he will form the dream elf in water and freeze her as a statue.
Bean continues. "The prophecy says we are the key, along with a dream walker. To the cold emporer's fate. The prophecy leaves it open if he rises or falls though."

Deathless is something none of you have ever heard of before.

Bean looks sheepishly twards torla. "Uh... I dont think so, i kind of see things in the world, like i have to read them. Some of them make sense immediatly like the water and the ground."
Bean will use the mold earth cantrip. Digging a 5ft sq. Hole and moving the dirt next to it to make a 5ft sq mound of dirt.
Bean continues, "but stuff like you and the group and the air, i see stuff that i can mess with, like this fine net surrouding everything. I might be able to poke the net and make stuff happen, but it doesnt feel like a god is helping me do this". Bean looks to the ice statue of the elf girl. "Unless she is a god?"
Torla, being a Worshipper of the allfather does have its perks as during your time spent in your Church, you had access to a wealth of knowledge that outsiders would not. You vaguely remember A fellow cleric telling you of a story. You thought it fiction because of how obsurd it sounded but with Beans new abilities you start to think there could be more to it.
The Cleric told you of a Woman who lived over 600 years ago during the Fell War in which undead all across the lad began to march on the living. This woman was a Paladin of the Everlight and a beacon of hope across the land as she carried with her un inmaginable power. With every step undead ran from her, Vampires and Lichs cowered at the sound of her footsteps. While she did carry a weapon, it was not the weapon these undead bastards feared, It was how the everlights power radiated from her. The first documented case of a God truly lending their power to a mortal. Her true name was lost to time but she is still remembered by the Title she insisted she be called by. "The Marked".

Torla frowns. "I've never heard of anyone being able to do such miracles without the blessing of their god. In fact, now that I think about it, I've heard of someone called The Marked before: a mighty paladin."
To reiterate, The Woman was a Paladin not a cleric While paladins of the everlight are rare they are not unheard of. She was the first to use the power of the gods.
Bean is the first to use this new found power. There is a correlation here.

Dream Walking is something that our half-elven friends would know of. It is a ability some Elves and half-elves are capable of doing in which they create a object be it a Weapon or piece of jewelry and bond part of their soul with it, Giving the object powers and also connecting them to it. When it is Attuned to someone other then the Maker, The Maker has the ability to communicate with the Attuned wearer. First only in their dreams to create the connection, Then they are able to pass along information and advice whenever called upon.
Extensive studies were conducted on it in Lithuen, The Home of the Elves. It was found that only 1 in 100,000 Elves were born with this ability. Less for half-elves at 1 in 600,000.
One had to be born with this ability. In fact when Imras and Tyrvan were created I rolled 5d20s for each character. If the combined number was over 95 then they had the ability.
Imras came in at 46 and Tyrvan at 71.

Tyrvan blinked as it seemed if Josiah and Bean blinked in and out of existence for a briefest of second before appearing in different positions.
"You mean to tell me there is practically a GOD sitting at the bottom of this pond and it can control time AND space! When can we get off this damned island!" Tyrvan runs his hands through his hair and pinches his nose, "Look I don't know about all this prophecy stuff. But I do know about Dream Walkers. And it is exceedingly rare among our kind. Even more so for half-elves like myself and Irmas. I don't have the ability, and I doubt Irmas does either. It's so rare that it is not even surprising that Irmas doesn't know what it is. There was only one Dream Walker that I knew of and she was the first in hundreds of years. But she died when I was young" He pauses and looks at the others, "To put it short, Dream Walkers put part of their being into an item they have created. This gives the object powers they would not normally have and the connection is maintained even if someone other than the Dream Walker uses the item. In fact, the very act of using and attuning to the item creates a connection between the User and the Dream Walker."

Bean add succinctly. "The cold emperor is the ice cold blue eyed devil that has been haunting us since the moment we step foot on this isle. He is the one tormenting josiah, and manipulating me."
"While you were frozen, i talked to the elf girl, she told us the part we play in the prophecy" bean is very visibly frustrated, clenching his jaw.
"But in the attack that he launched on old leo and i, he said things, things that if i tell you, he threatened to kill all of you for, in front of me, as punishment." bean is now crying in front of his friends.
"He showed me how easy it was, what he could do"
Bean points twards the two ice statues. And snaps his fingers (ending the instant freeze effect from shape water) "He did this to the male elf without trying" and the two statues will melt to slush and disolve in the water.
"I cant stand being responsible for any of your deaths" bean wails.

"It seems you and I are connected in more than one sense then, Silver Bean. You aren't the only one with a burden to bear alone for the sake of others."
Bean will look brythel in the eyes. And draw his blade and holds it handle up, "i.. I can try or die, those are withing my power to do." nodding to the dwarf, acknowledging his bravery.... Or ignorance (both are good)
Bean will slowly shift his gaze to josiah, as what he said was barley a whisper. Slowly repeating his words in his head untill a realization dawns on his face.
Bean falls down like he has been hit with a ton of bricks. And just stares at josiah. "What?" tears welling up again.
