Cyril eyes Caelyn's use of lock picks worldlessly but with a wry smirk, before turnign his attention back to watching the corridor. As soon as the door opens, he quickly follows her in and begins sizing up one of the paintings, one showing the erstwhile Lord Minovitas astride a massive white stallion with an upraised sword and a purportedly inspired crowd of soldiers in the background. After a moment he shrugs and sets to with a brush and a few choice colors.
Perception: 13
Though by no means an artist in the realm of painting, he gives it a game try nonetheless. With a mix of colors, he does his best to render the Lord's house a fairly alarming shade of bright pink, with rather large, bulging eyes. A new badge added to the noble's rather expansive torso now resembles a grinning caricature of a minotaur's face, and the sword upraised in his hand... well, to be honest it has become decidedly more... phallic.
Is it juvenile? Yes.
Is it uncouth? Also yes.
Is Cyril chuckling to himself the entire time? Oh yes...

Searching through the paintings Caelyn finds the one Gloriana Morilla spoke of when they met. Where Minovitas is portrayed in pristine battle regalia with his foot planted on a dead fiend, all while the nine sing his praises in the background.
She will attempt to use a scroll of permanent illusion, looking at the painting and imagining what it could become while reading the scroll. She whispers No more lies, no more deceit, a mirror image he will meet.
Caelyn will attempt to change the painting to change the dead fiend under Minovitas's feet into the two rumormongers that spoke up against him and disappeared. Trying to shape them into descriptions she has heard. The nine singing his praises in the back will change into all having one of their hands covering both their eyes and the other holding various items, some a golden chalice, others a bag of coins.
**The one that was described to us has been hit with the illusion scroll, the spare painting is being swapped, and one has been painted over. How many other paintings are there for us to muck with? **
Pernach watches the efforts of their compatriots in their sabotage mission. They look at the remaining paintings to see what best might be for them to tamper with.
(6 paintings total. 3 of you are 'fixing' a painting each - that takes about 10 minutes total. If Pernach also does a painting, it can be in this 10 minutes. At this point he can use Perception to use the paints to alter a portrait , or Arcana to use 1 of the scrolls of erase. That will leave 2 paintings - you can attempt to alter these with another 10 minutes' of work but also a chance for the guards to grow tired of the dice game and start wandering around again...)
Pepper throws up her hands, annoyed. She looks like she's maybe going to throw Ashe, but then just sort of smiles. "Luck's never been the lady for me when she's got you to gaze at," she says to him. "I guess you're tied, though. Another round for the two of you. Is Lars always this lucky?" she asks the watching guards, trying to keep them interested. "Care for a side bet on this round? I'll match each of you, whatever you care to bet, on my man beating yours. Up to a silver each of you." She jingles her pouch.

Ashe and Lars split the pot - it was 9 silvers (2 to start, plus 1 fort he second roll). so they each take 4 and leave the extra in the pot for the next game.
"You're on," one of the guard replies to Pepper. "I bet a silver that Lars Wins AND a silver for each 6 he rolls!"
Lars looks at his friend and laughs. "You may overestimate my luck, Hans. I'm just gonna bet on the game. 2 more silvers, and pass over the dice!" Lars picks them up, blows on his hand, and rolls a 3 and a 4.
"Hmmm. 7 gotta add something to that. But not a six!!" He rolls another dice and it comes up as 5. "HAHA! Yes!"

Pernach grabs some of the paints and looks at the remaining portraits. Selecting one of the simpler portraits, they start...improving it.

The resulting alterations are a bit more puerile than the magical alterations but they are quite effective at making sure the picture won't be given pride of place.
(OK - 4 paintings successfully altered in 10 minutes. For all - make your rolls in a SPOILER so only I can see the results! For Ashe and Pepper, I need a Performance or Persuade check from you both to try and keep the guards attention on the game of dice for another ten minutes. For the rest of the party, decide whether you want to continue or head back to your area, then make either a Stealth check or the appropriate roll to alter the last two paintings. Painting takes 10 minutes, but using the scroll of Erase will only take one minute...)
(Success! All paintings are now tampered or altered. Four the four artists, please make a group Stealth check. For Ashe and Pepper, make your check - and unfortunately, Pepper cannot Aid Ashe because you are not proficient in either of these skills. So everybody roll something, and make your way out. Remember that you need to use your raven figurine when you're done =)
Pepper stands up so quickly her chair goes flying. “A demon’s luck, you’ve got!” she says, laughing but also trying to look upset. It’s a tricky line to tread, she wants to alarm the guards enough they are watching her, but not so much they think her a danger.
Roll in spoiler!

As Cyril and Kira start on the last paintings Caelyn starts to move back out towards their own storage.
Trying to keep an eye on things she will move around stuff to seem busy and to not let things be too quiet in the storage space. Should any guard come to them before Cyril and Kira return Caelyn will try to spot it in time and intercept them.

Ashe looks around at Pepper and all the guards. "Hey, now, where do you think you all are going? I haven't even made my latest roll! You're going to cut me out of this round before I even get a chance to partake? Boldrei's brood, let me play! The night is still young, and Sovereigns know things are only going to get more boring after this. We work so hard for these hoity-toity nobles - surely we can have another ten minutes of leisure before we go back to slaving away?"

Kira is not an artist. And the paintings are big--she can't reach the tops. She settles for swapping out a painting.

"Kira, let's erase these last two paintings and then we can all get out of here."
