Noticing the twitching of the blue slug and remembering something from one of their classes about fast-healing creatures, Pernach reaches into their pouch.
They pull out the vial of alchemist's fire they found upstairs and pours it over the twitchy slug.

Seeing the other slug get destroyed Caelyn turns back to the one harassing Pepper.
She looks to Kira calling out to her Burn it! Like in the trails.
Caelyn quickly looks back as Pepper struggles to get out of its grasp she tries to wipe the remaining greasy substance of her fingers and pulls out another arrow. Not taking to much time to wait and trying to aim for the slug to get its attention to Caelyn so it wont see Kira's attack.
Her fingers slide of the arrow as it releases towards the slug quickly followed by another shout Now Kira!
Movement: None Action: Shortbow with sneakattack from Pepper : Attack: 19 Damage: 15 Bonus action: giving help to Kira to attack the creature
Between Kira's firebolt and the effects of her acid before, the red slug shrivels up on the ground and looks like a mound of burnt, quivering flesh. (Combat over!) In another minute, the slime on the floor dries up enough that it is no longer so slippery and the party doesn't have to worry about falling into it, although Caelyn and Cyril both start to feel a burning itch on the exposed flesh of their wrists and neck (and anywhere else the slime may have touched you!) Pernach does not exhibit any symptoms - it must be his warforged 'biology' preventing infection.
Around the edges of the room are several reinforced wooden doors that lead to other branches of the laboratory, but they are locked tight and magically sealed. on the SE edge of the room, a 10' passage leads east for 15' opening into a 25' wide x 30' long room with a single 5' passage leading south from the center of the southern wall. This room contains four armored mannequins that each show signs of energy damage, such as scorch marks, fracturing from cold, and corrosion from acid. When developing prototypes for new alchemical weapons, researchers often test early formulae against these dummies to study the weapons’ effects.
The passage heading south goes 10' and ends in a closed, sturdy door. You hear a commotion from behind the door, like a wild animal running around and knocking things down around the room. A snarling sound can also be faintly heard through the thick wooden door. (Updated map!)
(Apologies for going AWOL for a bit there - let's pretend Ashe was actually useful in that fight lol)
Ashe approaches Caelyn and Cyril, inspecting the itchy areas where the slime made contact and trying to determine what exactly this is and if there's any way he can treat or cure it using magic or otherwise.
Cyril takes a quick look around at the others, checking for injuries. If everyone still seems hardy enough to go on, he'll begin heading through the passage. The rashy itching concerns him, but he quickly puts it out of his mind to focus on what needs to be done in the moment. Whatever reaction he might have had to the strange monster's slime is a problem for the future. For now, he needs to see if anyone can be rescued from further inside the complex. He pauses a short distance away from the last door, listening to the chaos coming from the other side.
"Do you all hear that? Don't know what's going on in there but it does not sound friendly."
Ashe reasons that this is the same flesh-eating necromantic disease, but an apparently more virulent version than you were taught about in your biological warfare classes. It will likely involve some higher-level magic spells to fully remove the disease. (Is Ashe going to cast anything? Are you spending any additional time or heading right to the disturbance?)

Pepper catches a second wind as the party regroups in the slimy room. (Second Wind for 7)
She accompanies Cyril to explore the rest of the halls, and ends up at the same door he does. Drawing her swords, she smiles grimly. "This sounds like something I can fight," but she looks for Pernach before doing anything rash like throwing the door open.

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
"I don't have anything that can treat this. Sorry, you two, you'll have to hang on as best you can," Ashe says, joining Pepper by the door. "We should proceed carefully, who knows what horrible disease or condition awaits in there..."
Pepper looks at Pernach meaningfully. Then she makes her look perfectly clear. "You first."
*sigh* "Yes, yes, hide behind the warforged. That's our lot in life it seems..." The tone in which this is said suggests it's not intended to be taken seriously.
So saying, Pernach is ready to boot the door and look for trouble.
"Ah, cheer up mate. At least you didn't catch a rash from the snail trail on the floor." Cyril gives Pernach a wry grin before settling back into his focused demeanor and stance, staff held defensively.
After checking back and making eye contact with each of the others to make sure they are ready, Pepper taps Pernach on the back to let him know to go, then will follow him into the room quickly.

Racks of surgical tools line the walls of this room, which contains only a single operating table. Steel shutters peer down from more than ten feet above the floor. The floor is a mess of broken glassware and dark stains. This is a dissection room with numerous observation windows from which other researchers might watch an experiment in progress—and seal the apertures in case of an emergency. The only other door is on the east wall - it is closed and a woman is attacking the door. She then stumbles about, seemingly lost or confused, before fixating on the supporting tables and cowering away from them as if they were monstrous creatures. Some may recognize her as one of the lead scientists and alchemy instructors.
