Caelyn will find Kira sitting at her desk, which seems to be properly sized for someone of her stature, as is the chair she's on. Upon being asked, the gnome will look up. "You got a hundred galifars?" she deadpans. "Didn't think so. In all seriousness, I'm good on materials. Thanks, though. How've you been? Recovered okay?"
At a different point, she'll seek out Ashe and ask to talk.
Ashe, relieved that his infected crew mates turned out to be okay, spends time aiding the others in their endeavors. When he gets the time, he'd like to look up materials to learn about the other intelligence agencies of the Five Nations and Khorvaire, just to get a better idea of who he may be brushing shoulders with on a mission. Surely an institution as secretive as the Academy has information like that. He'd also like to read up on Sharn, the City of Towers.
When he gets a moment alone with Caelyn, there's an obvious discomfort that washes over Ashe when Cinder gets mentioned. Normally, Ashe would brush it off and tout the classification of the mission report to get her off his back, but he decides to be honest with her. "Look... I don't know what happened to Cinder. Or if she's even alive. Last I saw her, she was running headlong into a burning building before it collapsed. As much as I'd like for my sister to be alive... she probably isn't. Maybe she made it out, maybe she's out there somewhere, happy to be free from the Academy. I certainly hope that's the case. I'm... sorry I never told you. I know you two were friends. But if she really wanted to be found, she would have come back. It's better off to just let her go..." Ashe says.
At another moment, Kira finds Ashe in the middle of reading in the library, but he's more than willing to chat. "Ah, Kira, can I help you?"
It was a mellow morning when Cyril and Caelyn find themselves more or less alone, their other friends having already left. The two sit in a somewhat newfound companionable conversation, commiserating over their shared experience with the infection and its cure and the somewhat odd after effects. Likewise, their conversation moves over elven society, although for his part cyril remembers little of his days before coming to the Bastards.
However, as Caelyn probes deeper she finds a quick reticence to speak of anything about his parents and whatever might have happened there. He will speak openly about his admiration and lingering grief over his mother's death, all the while fiddling with the silver skull pendant around his neck, but nothing concerning more intimate details or how she actually died.
During her talk with Pepper Caelyn will make mental notes specially of the mint and flower scent that she cant just place at the moment. With a bit of an ackward start Caelyn gets pulled into a hug with Pepper. The brief reaction of wanting to resist quickly disapears, she knows Peppers grip is to strong anyway. Pepper was right after all, the academy was a not really a home. It was the people she got close to that got her through the years, perhaps they were not many in number but Pepper was undoubtedly among those few. Realising she should not have even doubted that Pepper would support her no matter what she commits to the hug and wraps her arms around Pepper in silence for a moment. No words came to mind or seemed necessary. When the hug ends they share a smile and she says Im glad im not alone
When visiting Kira she smiles at her joke about money. Caelyn never really held onto much money. It served her better to spend it but it did spark a thought that it could be good to start saving a bit. Replying to her question Im feeling much better thanks. Sometimes i still think i have the itch and my skin is red but those are just bad dreams.
It has however made me realise we need to keep working to get where we want to go before we run out of time. Her eyes drift to some of Kira's creations And sometimes that might need a small cannonhe says with a laugh. Is there anything you are looking for..Caelyn turns her head towards a window ..you know, out there?
In the talk she has with Ashe she is unsure of his reaction at first but nods. I hope she is ok too, i know its hard to leave someone behind. Having learned a bit more about Ashe's feelings and knowledge of Cinder she wont press the matter. The side of her lip curls into a force smile Perhaps she is better of than us. Our paths might cross again in the future then. (@MightyOwl Having been in the academy for a long time, would Caelyn know if Cinder had magical powers like Ashe does?)
While speaking with Cyril Caelyn will try to add some elven knowledge but she to was very young when she got to the academy so most of her knowledge is from what she heard or seen here. As they move towards speaking of his parents Caelyn will try to be subtle around the subject. Noticing Cyril is not really ready to speak of anything more. Some day she will find out what the skull pendant is about but today was not that day. Instead she shares a bit about herself, in an attempt to strenghten the bond with the fellow elf, and to build some trust. Something that Cyril mentioned might be lacking towards her in their last private talk. My parents were taken away before i got here. I never found out what happened. I mean, i will.. but.. i just havent yet.She struggles a bit with the flow or her words. Clearly not used to speaking about this to any other than her close friends. Trying to read Cyrils reactions she takes a a shot in the dark We cant change our past but perhaps we can prevent others from our own faith.
"I hope so, Caelyn. I hope so,"Ashe says, looking off to the side. He gives her a nod and walks away. (@coolname, Yes, Cinder did have powers like Ashe, though she was more of a rogue than a bard.)
Ashe's friendly smile vanishes at Kira's question. He closes his book and stares at her for a moment. "... What, kill my sister? Is that what you're asking?"
"What, you got anything else you might or might not have done?" Kira scoffs. "Yeah, that's what I'm asking."
She sits down on the back of the chair, looking down. "People say you did, but rumors spread at the Academy like the bleedin' plague, and a lot of them are on some level fake. So I'm not about to take them as gospel. But most of them come from somewhere."

"Perhaps. Perhaps." Cyril's smile is soft and warm as he regards Caelyn for a moment before nodding. "You've got my promise, Caelyn, should you need help in finding out what happened, I'll be there to help. Just say when and where, and we'll do whatever needs to be done."

Ashe sets down the book and focuses on Kira. "Look, I can't tell you everything that happened. That's classified information. But... no. I did not kill Cinder. I know we didn't always see eye to eye on our duties to the Academy, but I would never have killed her for it. Last I saw her, she ran into a building before it collapsed. Before I could stop her, she was already gone... I don't know what happened to her. She's probably dead. Even if she is still alive, she didn't come back, so she may as well be dead. She abandoned the Academy and everyone in it. But... no, I did not kill her. It was just an unfortunate accident."
"That's honestly what I figured," Kira admits. "Because I just couldn't comprehend any reason someone would do that." She looks back at Ashe. "I'm sorry. About her. It's hard."
"Thanks, Kira. It's tough, but... we've got more important things to focus on, right? Making sure the world doesn't go to Khyber in a hand-basket and all that?"Ashe says, his face still somewhat serious. He lowers his voice."Can I ask you something? Say the rumors were true. Which they aren't, but say they were. Say the Academy ordered me to kill my sister. If they ordered you to kill one of our crew, Kira... would you do it?"
Kira's eyes, already large, widen even further. "What? Ashe, why--where'd that come from?" She fiddles with the hem of her shirt. "To answer, though, it'd depend on why they're ordering it. I'm not exactly close with them, or anyone here, so it's not like it's a definitive never. But there'd have to be a good reason for it."
"I don't know. Just been thinking lately. Our last mission was simply tricking people and defacing art... I don't think the future missions are going to be quite so bloodless. Things are going to get complicated. I don't know. I think I'm of the same mind as you, in regards to the question. If the reason is sound, then it'll be done... Sorry to put you on the spot."
About 3 ten-days after the hungry flesh monster escapade, Mist sends for Pernach to come to their personal space. Navigating the Trainers' residence is not easy, even though Pernach is no longer a student. Still, the warforged is soon directed to the room where Mist spends their off time. It is sparse, as expected, with no bed or chairs. But there are shelves along the walls filled with various odd trinkets and items from all around Khorvaire.
"Pernach. I see you. Thank you for quickly responding. There is a matter we wish you to investigate - it involves one of our kind. We received a notice from Sergeant Germaine Vilroy of the Sharn Watch." Mist hands a note over to you and then continues. "As a trainer in the Queen's Academy, we can not just leave to see Vilroy. So we request that you and your group go to Sharn. Take the lightning rail to reduce time in transit - we will provide currency to purchase tickets. Discover what Vilroy needs and assist how you are able. Tell no one of this trip or your purpose. Do you accept?"
The note reads: “I’m calling on you for a job. I can’t write the details, but it pays well and requires your kind of skills. Meet me at the airship dock on top of Lyrandar Tower. Bring some comrades and come armed.”

Pernach tilts their head at this last. "If I'm not able to tell anyone of the trip or the purpose, enlisting the aid of my compatriots my prove challenging. Or did you mean no-one outside of our group? Seeing Sharn should be interesting either way, during our down time I've been reading back issues of the Inquisitive. "
