As the healers finish tending to her wounds Caelyn remains seated to watch main event. As Pepper takes the first hit Caelyn flinches a bit as she sees her friend get hurt by the emotionless Pernach. As she goes down Cealyn motions the healers to hurry to her as she judgingly shakes her head at Mist.
I thought you wanted us in one piece. she mumbles as she moves towards the ring for her next match
Initiative: 4
Caelyn had seen Kira around but she kept to herself most of the time so she never made much of an effort to know her. Only that she wasnt suited for this kind of goon challenge either. Both were just here take a beating and for what? The approval of Mist? They deserved better.
Planning ahead Caelyn expected the gnome to use magic like she did in the first fight. She did not want to get hit by that from up close. With Caelyns great speed she starts simply by bending her knees a bit trying to become a smaller target like Kira herself.
Waiting at the edge of the ring to give her just a bit more room to see the attack coming.
As Kira fires of the biggest flame she had seen Caelyn barely manages to move her head sideways to avoid the hit. Feeling the heat of the blast rush past her. Some loose strands of Caelyns hair that were still floating in the air from the movement get incinerated as Caelyn moves to take action.
Not wanting to slice up the gnome if it can be avoided Caelyn lunges forward placing her foot next to Kira's and using the momentum of her speed to shove her shoulder into Kira to knock her back out of the ring.
Action: Ready her reaction untill Kira makes her move Reaction: Shove Athletics 5 vs Kira's Athletics or Acrobatics. To shove her back 5ft out of the ring.
Ashe just narrowly avoids the crack of Carcan's whip, which throws off the spell he was going to cast; it fizzles out. He readjusts himself, preparing for the changeling's next move. At least he didn't need to expend some of his energy to cast a healing spell.
The short Kira proves to be quite sturdy in her stance as Caelyn knocks into her and fumbles unable to knock her down. Going out of balance and almost falling out of the ring herself Caelyn manages to shift her balance to regain a good footing.
Well i tried she says
With those words she turns around swinging both hands together using the hilt of the daggers to try to slam into Kira to take her down without bloodshed.
Action: Main hand Attack: 21 Damage: 7 Bonus action: Offhand Attack: 10 Damage: 3

The first dagger attack hits Kira, sending her stumbling back, out of the way of the second. She reaches into her pocket, throwing a vial of acid at Caelyn, and possibly anyone spectating within range.
(DC 16 DEX save or take 5 acid damage at the start of your turn until you use an action to clean it off)
Caelyns eyes widen as Kira throws out the acid and with nimble movements does a swift judo roll out of the way barely staying inside the ring. Her eyes follow the vial for but a moment after it passes her. (ill leave it up to the DM or crowd to see if anyone gets splattered in the viewing section)
Only the sounds of the acid melting away something behind her reaches her ears as she realises she must end this before a nasty spell injures her.
With her daggers still in hand she makes a wide angle with her arm to try and smack the hilt of the dagger into the side of Kira and as she stands up using the movement to aid in an uppercut motion.
Finally knocking the sturdy gnome down she helps pick her up. She lets out a sigh of relief the fight is over without giving Kira any lasting scars.

Carcan repeats the same fighting technique, dropping the whip, drawing a second handaxe, and moving in to swing twice! Attack: 8 Damage: 8 Offhand Attack: 23 Damage: 4
Thinkhammer's spell had its intended effect, although Cyril's strike still managed to hit him. Using his quarterstaff, the dwarf strikes at Cyril's head. Attack: 23 Damage: 9
Meanwhile, on mat 4, Kira's acid attack smacks a protective barrier around the ring, which prevents inadvertent damage from attacks and spells that miss. Nothing worse than to be hit by a spell from another mat while concentrating on your own match!!
Cyril's head snaps back as the dwarf's staff strikes, letting it pass by mere inches. His lips curl upu slightly in a grin as he steps inside the long weapon's reach, both hands hammering forward in a palm heal strikes at his opponent's chest.
Action, Unarmed Strike: 8 to hit, 5 damage.
Bonus action, Unarmed Strike: 12 to hit, 5 damage.
Ashe concentrates despite the bite of Carcan's axe - this wound was but a trifle compared to what Caelyn was able to inflict, but he wasn't sure he would survive the next one. Now that Carcan is close, he draws his two daggers and thrusts at the changeling.
Main Attack: 21 Damage: 5
Offhand Attack: 17 Damage: 1
The daggers pierce Carcan's lower abdomen and leg, but only just. Ashe curses under his breath, getting ready for the changeling's counter attack.
Cyril manages to connect with one of his strikes despite still not seeing straight - enough to make the dwarf tap out before enduring any more damage.
Ashe connects with both attacks, but does not maximize the damage. Still, then changeling has had enough and limps off the mat to see the healers.
Pernach and Ashe are set to fight for the top spot, with Cyril and Caelyn battling for third. Mist claps each of you on the shoulder and nods in encouragement.

Ashe looks surprised at Carcan's yield, but he does not seem to dwell on it long before he realizes he has to take on Pernach. The boy makes his way to the mat, a smile on his face. "Pernach, buddy. I was really hoping I wouldn't have to go up against you. Go easy on your frail friend Ashe, won't you? Or at least make it quick like with Thinkhammer."
After his bout with Pepper, Pernach steps off the mat, heading for the healers. While they bandage his injuries, his eyes return to their normal color, and the runes on his body cease to glow.
He steps back into the ring opposite Ashe and smiles at his quip. "You can simply choose to step aside you know."
"Not going to happen,"Ashe sighs. "Well, best of luck. And please - not the face."
At the whistle, Ashe finally gets the first draw. He places a hands on his dagger, but does not draw it. Instead, his eyes flash, his mark sizzles and pops beneath his armor, and an undulating orb of chaotic magical energy blasts out of his fingertips, hurtling towards Pernach.
Casting chaos bolt. I will be using the inspiration we received in the PMs to give myself advantage on the roll.
Chaos Bolt Attack: 25 Damage: 23
Oh damn, that's a crit. I'll choose thunder damage from the d8s rolled, and technically since I rolled doubles on one of the d8s, the chaos bolt jumps.
Ashe's left hand splays and contorts as he lets out a cry of pain. A torrent of thunder energy rushes toward Pernach and erupts as soon as it collides with the warforged's chassis, before it jumps and flies toward Mist next. At the last second, Ashe is able to redirect it so that it strikes a far wall instead of any of his colleagues. A clap of thunder fills the room.
Ashe is slumped on his knees, cradling his left arm as it twitches and hisses. "I... don't suppose that counts, does it?"
Cyril follows Thinkhammer from the mat, rubbing at his eyes with the palms of his hands. Although he has no lingering injuries, he takes a moment seated off to the side to make sure his vision is clear again. Finally feeling like he can see without issue again, he begins making his way back towards the mat, looking over to Thinkhammer with a nod as he does. His eyes move across where Pepper stands, noting her expression.
That one is decidedly unhappy with the results...
Cyril didn't blame her, he would be too. Her poor luck for being matched against the warforged. His own luck though...
He scowls as he enters the mat, seeing Caelynn as his opponent. He'd always tried to avoid the other elf whenever possible, for reasons he never particularly cared to share. And here she was. His scowl deepens a touch as the match began and he surges forward, whipping out his dagger in one hand and following up with a spinning elbow strike aimed at at Caelynn's jaw.
Giving Ashe the opportunity to leave unscathed backfires spectacularly as his aberrant mark flares. As the blast of chaotic magic strikes Pernach, their eyes flash through a kaleidoscope of colors, and the runes and sigils on their body flare almost blindingly.
After a few seconds the lights fade, and they go dark before toppling to the ground with a thunderous crash.
When the echos of the thunderous spell and Pernachs fall go silent, they fold up to a sitting position. All looks normal, except one eye is now a pale green instead of its previous light blue. "That was a strange sensation; what happened?"

Pepper, once the healers have revived her, stands off to the side, a stormy expression on her face, watching the contests proceed.
ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he).
Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
