“Suit yourself then.”Mica clasps the old dwarf on his forearm “Be safe and hurry back to us. I will blaze a trail.” He shoulders his pack and looks up to the sky “Best be moving on, we don’t have much daylight left and we want to be well away from this wreck before it draws more attention.” He starts to lead the others through the jungle toward the southeast.
"Be safe!" Echoed Meili. Hew was a guide, of course, and knew the jungles better than any of them, but walking alone sounded too dangerous. She waved and then turned after Mica, there was indeed a lot of ground to cover still.

Micaleads the party southeast, away from the wreck of the Star Goddess and deeper into the hellish Chultan interior.
As the sun sets behind the western mountain ranges, a stormfront blows in. At first, the wind and rain bring a welcome relief from the heat of the day. But as the darkness settles in, the howling wind and frequent lightning make setting camp more difficult than normal.

Danica looks over the two supply packs scavenged and nods in agreement with Ran's suggestion. "We' have enough to make do. Better they take it to survive the trek better and get out of here." Rubbing a hand against her mouth in solemn thought at Meili's pointed question, Danica tried and failed not to make contact with the shipwreck survivors before letting out a breath and glancing to Hew at his offer. Regarding the dwarf and seeing that the offer was as much in their favor as the survivors, she nods slowly and says, "If you're up to it." Knowing that not too long ago, he had been not looking too good himself. Not that she was anyone to talk. Resting a hand against his upper arm, Danica says to Hew, "Make it back to us safe. We'll wait for you." Echoing Ran, Meili and Mica's words.
After trekking the rest of the day, the elf couldn't help but keep looking up at the sky, flashing bright with lightning. "This looks nasty...wonder how long it'll last."And casts Druidcraft to find out and see if it was worth it to set up the rain catchers or if the wind was too bad. "I'll take first watch. You want second?" She asks mostly rhetorically of Meili with a nod.
Once a watch order was established and camp was officially made, Danica made sure to set up the bug repellant incense, though the wind made it difficult and near useless and also cast Protection from Evil and Good using the fetish the not entirely malevolent hag had traded them before she began her nightly prayers to Selune, thanking the Moonmaiden for giving her the strength to be able to continue with the Seekers and stand strong against the constant undead threats. Praying to her that the souls of those lost with them today would be guided to a good afterlife. Pleading with her goddess that they might find the cure for the Death Curse before it was too late...

Mica finds a suitable spot to stop for the night as the light begins to fade and sets up camp with the others, struggling against the wind and rain. He sets up his hunting trap on a likely approach to the camp, just in case, and tries to get some sleep before taking the third watch. Perception: 10.
((Apologies for being MIA. It was extremely busy at work and I didn't have much free time / lost track of how long it'd been.))
Nalomanterys seems fine to let the scouts and survivors make it back on their own, and reluctant to let Hew go given the dangerous hidden city they were headed to, he puts up no argument. In fact, he seems not to care very much at all what decisions are reached so long as the group leave the crash site as soon as possible. As they leave, he looks over his shoulder a few times, apparently searching for signs of the giant undead dinosaur, or perhaps signs of survivors from the crash.
On the trek toward the city, Nalomanterys plays with his scarf more often than usual. Finally, he opens his mouth. "Shame about that." He says in an unusually monotone voice. "I told that druid not to use ice. I, myself, was waiting for the perfect opportunity to... uhm... well, you know, fire a proper attack." He avoids eye contact and pays a special interest in the canopy of the jungle.

Obviously, he's lying.
When night falls, Nalomanterys is happy not to receive a watch. The others might notice him sleeplessly tossing and turning most of the night, finally falling asleep shortly before dawn.

The night passes without incident.
Danica, your druid skills inform you the winds were going to be too strong for the raincatchers until after midnight. So as Meilihands off second watch to Mica'sthird, the two of them deploy the raincatchers and in the morning you are able to refill your skins.
Danica:
Your trance is interrupted by something like a dream. Your subconscious mind flinches, used to the ever-more frequent night-terrors of drowning in darkness. But this is no nightmare.
You are bathed in a pale white light. A voice... not a voice. There is no sound, no words. It is more like thoughts, ideas... but ideas that are not your own... enter into your mind.
Reassurance. Your purpose is not to fade into shadow, short of your objective. There will be relief of your burden, but do not fall for false victory. You must stay the course, for the threat remains, more dire than ever. There is more at stake here than death. Life itself is threatened, as evil wrestles with evil in the darkness.
Packing up in the morning, Micayou notice something that doesn't sit well with you. Near your hunting trap, there is a boot print that that doesn't belong. It could one of Ran's... its the right kind of chainmail boot. But it's out of place and doesn't follow the path he walked into the campsite on. Investigating further, you find more... it looks like a lone figure approached as far as your trap, then turned, circled the camp once and then departed, apparently without anyone's notice. It did not come from or leave in the direction you are heading (SE).
Based on the information provided by the airship's navigator, the hidden city should be some distance away still. Micaestimates you could likely get to that area in two full days of travel if you really push yourselves. If you keep to what has been your 'typical' pace, it will most likely be three full days.
What pace would you like to set? Keep in mind, if you plan to wait for Hewbefore entering the city, hurrying up may just lead to more waiting around once you arrive.

Unburdened by any hidden agenda or (mis)haps of any mysterious type, Meili had the luxury to only care about obvious problems. Right now it was Hew and the hidden city. The task's urgency demanded to press forward, the promise - to slow down and wait. Tired of that battle, she offered the question to everyone's attention during the usual group's morning routine.
"If we are waiting for Hew anyway, no need to rush?" That seemed like a good compromise. She glanced at the Captain and added: "Would be easier on us all too after the last battle."

“Yea, no need to rush”Mica nods in agreement “but we need to be careful. We are being watched and I don’t like it.” Mica points out the tracks surrounding the camp and tries to pick out where they came from and what direction they were going when they left.
Survival: 28.
.“Wasn’t zombies or ghouls, they would have just come on us. We can try to follow the tracks to find out who it was or we can keep going on slow. We can circle back from time to time and try to see if they are following. What do you think?”
Ran places his boot near the footprint just to convince himself it wasn't actually him wandering around in his sleep.
"Well, we didn't hear our sly little visitor but they'd don't seem to have done us any harm," Ran says. "'I'd say let them be. Of course they might be a scout and they've gone to get help. If that's the case, we might as well put some more distance between us. I'd vote for continuing on."
Mica, you have an easy time tracking the bootprints. It does look like the unknown walker was doing their best to be stealthy, but they were no match for your skills. They continued away in a northeasterly direction for as far as you tracked them (assuming you did not venture too far away on your own).

"If those visitors are not after as... No, still suspicious. But searching for someone who does not want to be found in these jungles is a waste of time. Let's just go for now and try to stay extra careful."
Danica stirs from her trance and greets the morning with much more vigor than she's had before. She still doesn't look very well, but she seems to be filled with renewed purpose and inner peace. Humming in thought at the news Mica brings up about the track he found, the elf agrees with her crew. "Let's set a slow and quiet pace. If we can avoid notice from strangers trying to track us, all the better. I'd offer a bit of nature based magic to have us completely un-trackable, but considering we need Hew to meet up with us, that might not be the best idea. The spell that I cast against the Sewn Sisters prevents them from peering at us, but wouldn't stop anyone else coming to peek in on us on their behalf."Not the most reassuring thought.
“A slow and quiet pace, aye” Mica grunts in agreement with Danica “the tracks go off away from where we want to go anyway and Meili is right, it will be hard enough trying to track someone who doesn’t want to be found out here.” Still Mica looks off to the northeast before picking up his pack and heading back on the trail to the southeast. He sets a slow pace, trying to be stealthy though he does leave some marks where he thinks Hew could find them and he pauses and circles back from time to time to see if they are being followed.
Nalomanterys, red-eyed from lack of sleep, agrees that a slower pace would sit well with him. He doesn't join in the speculation of what might have left the bootprints, nor does he seem too fazed by the fact that someone circled their camp last night. "Whoever it was wanted none of us. Even if they were looking for us, they surely could not find us again in this jungle..." He says, without any authority and with no understanding of how tracking works beyond 'follow the footprints.'
