Backstory: Vageiros entered a monastery for knowledge, and he has learned much in his time. He is going to Oakhurst because somebody told him that knowledge was there in a dungeon full of monsters.
Backstory: Ankita comes from a peaceful tribe. It is quite a large one, where she has several mothers and fathers that she feels almost as strong a connection to them as she does to her biological parents. They are a strong group of firbolgs that protect the forest they live in. Taking care of bandits, raiders, monsters, elementals… you get the idea. They have to keep a close eye on this forest as it is magical with it’s own healing powers. Though no one outside of her tribe knows this, they do not feel the need to share their abilities or healing capabilities with the outside world.
Ankita is a strong, kind firbolg, though a bit naive. She has been trained how to use her staff and has begun her training in the ways of the Druid. She is embracing that and wants to learn more. Her Druidic ways are also giving her an itch to leave and explore the world and do what she can to help right wrongs.
Reason for traveling to Oakhurst: What the firbolgs had always worried would happen has finally come. The healing they had in their forest has run dry. The tribe has heard of the healing apples near Oakhurst from travelers that had past through. They know they need to investigate this situation and see if they can bring some seeds back to their forest and grow their own grove to continue their way of life. They had unanimously voted for Ankita to make the trek.
Race: Mountain Dwarf (flavored as half-dwarf and half-human, but mechanically is a dwarf)
Backstory:
I am the eldest son of the Aleron Family. The Alerons were well known for their long lineage of accomplished knights. My parents, Paul and Jezebel Aleron, once served in an elite unit, and have worked diligently to further raise the Aleron name. My parents wanted sons who could continue their legacy. As a child, I first learned how to walk and then how to wield a sword. However, despite my best efforts, the sword was never a strong suit of mine. I was quickly surpassed by my younger brothers, Lyle and Jonathon.
I spent the majority of my teen years chasing after my younger brothers. I joined them on missions, but always ended up being a liability. My parent’s patience with my growth wore thin, and my brothers began to decline my participation. Although I was loved by my family, I could always feel the uncomfortable distance between us. Rumors began to spread about me, the weak link of the Aleron family. Soon, people came to call me the False Knight, and because of this I developed an inferiority complex.
I began to withdraw from others and turned to books and crafts as my comfort. I discovered that I had a knack for both the arcane arts and craftsmanship. I finally felt like I had something I could contribute to the family name and I displayed my newfound skills to my family. However, instead of excitement my family only had concern. My parents didn’t want me to hurt myself on the battlefield, nor did my brothers want to risk bringing me along on another mission. My father told me I didn’t have to worry about the duties of the Aleron family, and that I should live my own life. Each of my family members tried to comfort me, but it fell on deaf ears. I could ignore the rumors of outsiders, but hearing my own family disqualify my capabilities stung deep.
Reason for traveling to Oakhurst:
I didn’t want to further drag my family’s name through the mud so I left the household. If I couldn’t accomplish anything there, then maybe elsewhere. Thus, I have made my way to the town of Oakhurst, where I have heard rumors about a mysterious fortress and the potential for glory. If I could build a reputation for myself, then maybe I would no longer be a stain to the Aleron family name.
Backstory: Echo is a young man who became the royal protector of a noble man's daughter because of his extreme skills in combat. The noble found Echo on the streets and took him in after watching him beat up a few drinkers from the slums.
After this the nobleman had Echo trained by a blade master named Zuko Talonheart. The nobles daughter(named Scarlett) took a liking to Echo and made plans to run away with him so they could be together with him one day while walking within the courtyard of there mansion.
However, one day there was an attack on the town that Echo lived in with the noble family and the nobles daughter was assassinated. Echo was blamed for this because he didn't protect her.
The nobleman tried to have Echo killed but he escaped and is now on the run for the murder of the nobles daughter. Through this Echo has had a hard time talking to people and dislikes royals all together.
To keep himself going he had to steal and even sometimes do assassination jobs for people who have enough to pay for his services. To this day Echo keeps the ring of his beloved Scarlett around his neck to always remember her by.
Reason for traveling to to Oakhurst: Rescue Mission: Echo was hired by the family of both the wizard and the fighter to find them and bring them home safely. "This isn't exactly in my job description but if I'm being paid for easy work like finding a few people I'll be happy to do so however, do be warned I'll expect what I'm owed when I come back."
I am a new player with little to no dungeon experience so I won't be mad if a more experienced player is picked over me.
Backstory: Half elves born as two halves, not as one. Tharanis, for his part, was born with great tend to the elvish - so great, that somtimes it's hard to see it's human lineage. But it still there. Humans, for their part, are much more chaotic from the aged elves. And Tharanis is a pure example of the human chaos inside the elvish body.
Tharanis's fother was a simple man. He was in the sail-making buisnes, a hard working man with great tend to art, who gives part from itself to every sail he make. He wanted his only son, who was born from a mother he doesn't know, to find his own art. And he did. Battles in the street. From wrestling to lesser-magic fights, he was always there, watching, learning and attempting. Even the multiple scratches and harming he suffer didn't move him from his passion - win, for the marbles.
But win has it's own cost. When the criminals from the street cames once to revenge the teen, who, in simple language, kick their ass of, they found just the remanants of the sails his father didn't finish. His father buisness, their home, their lives - all have been destroyed. And they know exactly why. Tharanis decided to dedicate himself to the sailing-making, to his father. But even elves doesn't age forever, and the body of his father was the last thing he saw before he feint off.
When he wake up, he knew everything was changed. Now, when he was alone, his mind finaly went open. Now, he can hear the voices. He can hear the tools. Time to work.
The ticking, oh the constant ticking. It never goes away, it never stops. When in front of a clock it gets worse and worse. No matter what I do it never shuts up. It started when I was 12, the constant ticking in my ears. Many thought it was just my heart beating but it was a constant tick tick tick and sometimes I could swear bells or alarms going off every hour, but the doctors and clerics ignored me and told me I was hearing things. Maybe they were right. Just once I wanted someone to hear it, for someone to understand what I was going through. That wish came true, they heard what I heard, but also what I said. I was taken to the clerics again, who actually found out what was wrong. It was nothing, they said nothing was wrong, that I am just growing up with magic in my veins. The ticking never stops and likes to keep me up at night, seemingly getting louder and louder as the night goes on. I wanted the ticking to stop pestering me, to stop following me around, when I heard of a place that can get me away from this nightmare, I took it. I fled from my family in hopes of finding some sort of magical treasure to stop that ticking.
So me and my girlfriend are extremely interested in joining however we tend to make characters as we learn more about the setting and also based on what others are playing.
I will guaranteed play a cleric and I'm sure my partner will run with a martial melee class. No we dont need any special treatment and no we be doing the whole romance thing with eachother.
Sorry if this isnt what you need but if you'd like to contact me feel free to dm me @ shad0wmasterg6#7000
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Discord play-by-post lover. Hater of westmarches. Just gimme some character driven gameplay please.
Sharzin, "The Runt", was the smallest of his siblings. While still reaching 7ft tall he could not match the strength or physical endurance of his clan members. A clan of hunters and warriors they sought out magical creatures as prey, living a nomadic lifestyle in search of these challenges. Often leaving Sharzin with playing catch up or being more of a support than on the front lines, he was also noticeably kinder and less cut throat than his clan members. Still a work horse, he lusted for recognition and a place within his people honing his skills as a survivalist and tracker, finding his place for the time being until it was time for his coming of age "pilgrimage". He was sent on a journey to "conquer the wild", unable to return to his people until making a name for himself as a true hunter. Several years into his journey, he continues to test himself and make a name for himself both in and out of combat. He will not rush this journey as he knows the gap between himself and his family, only returning when he feels adequately prepared to stand tall and face them proudly as equals.
Reason for traveling to Oakhurst: He travels to Oakhurst for glory and sees it's vast and dangerous wilderness as the perfect stepping stone for his journey.
(I kept the backstory brief here to not spoil any character development in the campaign and rolled gold instead of starting equipment, will purchase my gear if chosen)
Appearance: He is short, 4'11 to be exact, and he has longer than average hair, which is combed to the left. He has big, hazel eyes filled with innocent curiosity and kindness. He wears a big, goofy smile, nearly all the time. He wears a blue scarf around his neck, which compliments his dark green silken tunic nicely. He wears a leather belt around his waist that secures cloth pants, which are tucked into the standard lack boots. He wears a backpack that has a few pots and pans attached to the outside of it. The head of his Viol and the tip of his Yklwa peek out of his backpack too. And finally, his wooden lute. It has a straps that slings on Klement's shoulder, so it's always out and ready to play. And along the base, in elven, is written "Ikki", the name of his master.
History:
Hmmm... Where do we start with this young half elf? His story is not most intriguing, he was born into a simple life in a small, tight knit village. The only thing otherwise strange were his parents: His father, a purebreed elf, fallen in love with a beautiful human, who he left his kingdom for after his time in the military. They were excited to bring life into this world, and his mother brought two lives. Two sons, one named after his father, Aileilm, and another by the name of Klement. The two grew up in a positive, happy home, and the two brothers were very cllse, the younger Klement looking up to his sibling. They were usually around each other, the younger usually copying the older, and the older set a damn good example, going out of his ways to always help others, and was truly kind to everyone. But Klement wasn't entirely just a clone of his sibling; While his brother was tall, strong, and serious when needed, Klement was small, rather scrawny, and always goofing off. He had a bright, cheery personality that could make just about anyone smile. As the two matured, Aileilm would take after his father, training to fight early on to carry out his family's military legacy, and Klement took after his mother, learning how to play the lute, and carry out the family's ancestral songs and such. The two brothers led eventually, once hitting around 18, went on their seperate paths: one the military, the other the pursuit of knowledge. Klement would become the apprentice of a kind, Aarakocra. He stayed with him for two years, to the age of twenty, as Klement was a auick study, before eventually letting him go on his own. With his master, he discovered he was a great chef, his true purpose to help people, and a serious tone when needed. He still regularly visits his former master. Now, he's on a journey of his own, wandering the land, learning what he can about every place he visits, every species he sees, and every bit of magic he finds. Maybe he'll become as great as his master, perhaps greater. Maybe he'll settle with a party eventually. Maybe he'll soon find his destiny.... Only time will tell. (Yeah, sorry I tend to end with that last sentence.)
Reason for traveling to Oakhurst: During a small family meeting after his brother had returned, his brother had told him about Oakhurst, about the mysterious fortress and the strange mystery surrounding the place, along wigh the poor people who had been lost. This instantly SPIKED his interest as an opportunity to learn, and the chance to test himself, solving that mystery. He had his brother run everything by him again, and the next morning, he headed on his way to Oakhurst by carriage, filled with excitement.
Okay I'm gonna close recruitment and take a day or so to look these over. I'll be reaching out to yall soon. Thank you everyone for putting your characters out there.
This was a really hard decision but I have picked the adventuring party. Thank you for offering your characters up and I look forward to playing with more of you in the future.
