DAY : 1 Biome : Hills (Needlehole)
You all head downstairs feeling strangely invigorated and are greeted with a breakfast of freshly baked bread and scrambled eggs, accompanied by flagons of ice cold water.
Between the extended meditation last night and his morning exercises, Chonk realizes that he has tapped into some wellspring of inner energy. It’s not overwhelming but complimentary and harmonious to his movements. As he heads downstairs, he can’t help but notice that he is fleeter of foot. When he reaches the bottom of the stairs, he hesitates and then dashes back up the stairs just to see if his suspicions are true. Delighted in this, a humbled smile crosses his face. He takes a silent deep breath and releases it slowly and walks down to greet the others. And to eat.
”Mornin’. I trust you all slept well. This breakfast looks excellent. Thank you so much!”
A subtle joy percolates within Chonk throughout breakfast. Good food. A shared purpose. He looks into the faces of his team as they chat over the meal. His team. That was new. That was exciting. It brought about a resolve within him to aid them and this world in any way he could.
"Not sure we have anything to trade with the cleric." Lefaris says with a shrug. "I would say we should look into this farm business first thing, just so we don't risk getting caught out too far from town at nightfall, if for no other reason." She seems much the same as the previous night, her long red hair done up in a tight braid between her curving hornes, her emerald eyes intense.
Sindri awakens in the morning with a fresh sense to the day. The thought of being trapped in this new land is not in the forefront, and the feeling of belonging with this new group of like-minded souls is a much stronger. Gives her a lighter bounce to her little gnome step as she gets ready in these strange clothes that Notch had given them. She then recalls the reaction the villagers had when she mentioned his name. Odd, she thought, wonder what that was all about?
Once finished, she finds Little Pwok upstairs and scoops him up. She then heads downstairs to the delicious smell of bread and eggs. Once seated she listens to the discussion on what to do next and feeds the chicken bread crumbs. She smiles at Chonk as the exuberance radiates off of him, "Sleep well dwarf? I know I sure did!"
As they discuss what to do next, she resolves to not worry so much as they continue on this new journey of theirs.
“I did indeed sleep well, Sindri. Thanks for asking. How’s Pwok holding up?” Chonk says almost chuckling.
To Lefaris he muses, “I was under the impression from our guide last night that the barkeep was going to pay us in advance.” He wipes his mouth with a napkin and continues, “So that we could use those funds to equip ourselves before attempting to unravel the mystery of the lamb shortage. He also mentioned something about doing something for and possibly gaining something from this cleric ‘in the morning’.”He looks to the ceiling in thought and finishes with, “If the cleric’s chore takes longer than what would make a trip to the farm prudent, couldn’t we do the farm tomorrow?”
As you all sit enjoying your breakfast and talking over your plans, the door opens and the guide walks in. Amusingly, they appear to have spent the evening stitching a cloth badge to their chest that reads "Guide" in recognition of their self appointed role.
"Good morning!" they offer a beaming smile. "How can I help you today?"
Before you can answer you hear a loud PWOK! and looking down you see the chicken has laid an egg.
Lefaris looks at the egg in surprise. She chuckles, shaking her head a bit. "Not exactly what I would normally have happen in a common room of an inn." She explains her laugh. She sighs and glances to the Guide. "We are looking to stop in to see this cleric right off this morning, then we will be heading to that farm to take a look into what is going on out there. Did you say the barkeep would be paying us up front for doing this farm investigation?"
"Maybe the cleric will also give us what we need and accept payment afterwards? Worth it to ask anyways."Sindri muses and then gives a little start when her chicken lays an egg. She looks up at the guide when he inquires about it and it takes a second to register, but then she responds, "Sure, I'll sell it."
Chonk volunteers to Help someone persuade the barkeep to pay for services in advance. Arguing that without proper supplies, our mission is less likely to be successful. That, and the best “puppy dog” eyes he can muster.
Sindri isn't interested in trying to persuade the barkeep, but she nods in agreement to the payment and hands over the egg to the guide. She finishes up her breakfast and takes her leave of the table, "I'm ready to head out when you guys are," she turns to the guide, "which way to the cleric?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Lefaris moves to the barkeep. "We are going to go look into this farm issue we were told about last night. Would you be willingn to give us payment up front, in case we need to purchase anything to help us in the task?"
Lefaris, The Barkeep opens their mouth to respond but a meaningful glare from your Guide and the jolly support of Chonk backing up your request causes them to close their eyes for a moment before taking a deep breath and saying,
"Of course."
With a forced grin the Barkeep wanders out back for a moment before returning with a pouch containing 100 emeralds, which they duly hand over. The transactions complete you all take your leave of the tavern and follow the guide through the village. You continue to attracts a great deal of attention from the locals as you weave your way through the narrow street to the Chapel. You hear the high pitch tink of metal work as you pass by the village smithy and note that several of the shops have closed signs due to the lack of trade with the local farm. As you move toward the edge of the settlement you catch the sickly sweet smell of tanned leather coming from what can only be the leatherworks. Before catching sight of it however, you arrive at the chapel.
It is a comparatively large building for this settlement and while the other buildings are predominantly constructed of timber, this is a stone building with a tall steeple at the front, reminiscent of the religious buildings back home. Two large double doors stand closed before you and your guide hangs back seemingly hesitant to take the lead.
Sindri picks up Little Pwok and sets him on the ground next to her. After Lefaris and Chonk talk with the barkeep and get our emeralds up front, she follows the group out towards the cleric. She makes note of where the smithy is, though, she thinks, it seems our guide is in no mood to leave us anytime soon, I think he likes his new role. She wonders why all the villagers stare at them as they walk, they are wearing the same clothes they are, don't they blend in? She is pondering this as they arrive at the large stone building.
As they stand in front of the large double doors, Sindri turns to the guide, "Why are you hanging back? Aren't you going to show us in and introduce us? It will be easier than us just barging in."
Chonk wishes everyone a peaceful night and heads upstairs to meditate then sleep.

"We could check in with this cleric, see what needs to be done. But I don't want to delay helping this people, who have taken us in so kindly."
Guroz sits nearby, with his plate of toast and eggs. Nodding to all, even with a small smile.
As you all sit enjoying your breakfast and talking over your plans, the door opens and the guide walks in. Amusingly, they appear to have spent the evening stitching a cloth badge to their chest that reads "Guide" in recognition of their self appointed role.

"Hmm I did not, but you could ask them." offers the guide cheerfully.

"Would you like to sell that?" the guide asks you Sindri as they point to the freshly laid egg.
