Rum looks around, looking for just the right moment to lead the others into the forge so that no eyes are on them. Either within or outside the forge building
If an opportunity presents itself, he ushers them in.
"Um... is it too much to ask if someone can untie me now?" Violet whispers when they get inside the forge. Then she giggles quietly. "I mean... not that I mind too much... but I'd rather not have to waste all my energy casting subtle spells because my hands are tied."

“These soldiers make me nervous” Kaede whispers. “Poorly trained soldiers make illogical choices, which leads to irrational and unpredictable actions. And these guys…they take the cake for dummies.”
She quietly follows Rum into the forge, leading her tied up prisoner. Once they reach the safety of cover, she’ll untie Violet.
As they enter the forge, Rum pushes Violet from behind, using his claws to slice the ropes that bind her, "Keep those eyes pointed elsewhere, or I'll scratch them out".
He then follows her in and looks about at the smiths present.
"You got any bindings for this creature?", he asks the smith to the south-west, pointing at Violet and snarling a little for emphasis.
"What?" The smith at the forge says, looking over his shoulder at Rum, and then with revulsion at Violet. "You can't be in here. This area is off limits!"
The forge starts to glow as he says this, and then he looks to his co-workers before reaching forward to grab a lever and pull. When he does this, the power of the forge surges, and a bright blast of white hot fire is ejected up through the floor to bathe the steel of the ceiling. Heat bathes everyone, and the smith backs away, his leather-sleeved arm raised to protect his face.
"Go on then." Another smith, one to the north, says as he approaches rum and throws him a hank of tattered rope. "Off with you. Get out while you can."
"Hey, that was my rope!" Violet tells Rum telepathically (using a bonus action to activate Telepathic Speech so that he can speak to her as well; the connection will last for 6 minutes)... then she realizes what he's actually trying to do. She keeps her hands hidden behind her so the smiths don't realize she's actually free. "Oh... wait, I get it... kind of... but you still owe me a new rope. I don't get why you asked them for another one when I'm already supposedly tied up, though... what's our plan here?"
Lady Kaede is holding the other end of the rope (OOC: just like fishing: a jerk at one end of a rope, waiting for a jerk at the other end) when Rum slices the knot holding Violet's hands together. To play act the part (which isn't a stretch, as she's also confused as to what Rum is doing), she just visibly shrugs her shoulders and bangs the side of her helmet with her free hand like the comms system is down.
When Rum hears Violet's voice in his mind, he mentally flinches before forcing himself to calm, using his stillness of mind technique to ensure he is not charmed by his new companion.
He then replies, "Apologies but we need to know more. We are after an item we do not recognise, and it might be in here. I wanted a reason to speak to these people".
The wave of heat hits him and he raises a furry arm to cover his eyes.
"Alas, rope has proven ineffective. Keep those eyes down", he replies and shows one of the cut ends of the rope, whilst demonstrating he has control of the prisoner. "I was hoping for manacles, as this is a forge, right? Hold on, what do you mean 'get out while we can'? What is happening here? Do you need assistance?, he says trying to get a better look around the room looking for something that he might recognise as the Blast Bellows.
"I'll try to make things a bit easier for you," Violet tells Rum with her mind-voice. "I'm going to work a spell that should make these two open up a bit..."
Violet casts charm person at 2nd level to target the two smiths who have engaged us in conversation, burning a sorcery point to subtle-spell the casting so no one realizes that she just did it. Both the smiths must make a DC 19 Wis save or be charmed by Violet.

"It's dangerous! You need to move back toward the barracks! Haven't you seen this before? It..."
He doesn't finish the sentence. There is a tremor that rumbles through the entirety of the wide open space where the Titan Forge is located. Even the mountains around them shake, and one of the smiths grabs a nearby railing to keep himself from falling as he stumbles. There is a tear, cracking sound as the terra below them shakes, then to the east there is a noticeable fissure that opens in the ground and hot magma bursts up, a shower shooting into the subteranean sky before pattering down like glowing rain.
As this happens, several of the Stormtroopers moving back toward the barracks break into a shaky run, trying to return to their muster site as quickly as possible...when a huge rock falls from the ceiling of the cavern over the sea, and water begins to pour down in a torrential stream...
Before either of the two talking smiths can say anything more, their eyes glaze over, and both smile in the direction of Violet. The first (black text) is clearly so deep under the spell that coming out may be a chore from him. The second is simply charmed...
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
In the chaos of the moment, Kaede quickly drops the rope leash that is connected to Violet and frees her from her binding. And then, the ground starts shaking…
Rum is about to reply that they are new to the camp, when the ground violently shifts. He easily rolls with the movement though and maintains his footing.
When the tremors stop, he looks to the smiths, "By the Great Dragon what caused that? You are going to bring the ceiling down upon us!".
As he speaks aloud to the smiths, he notices their demeanour change towards violet, and replies to her telepathically.
"Ask them if the Blast Bellows caused that, and where it is".
Acrobatics: a whopping 10; Violet falls from a failed Acrobatics check...
But from her position on the ground, she addresses the troopers while trying to get back to her feet... if the tremors are too much for her to stand up at all she's going to give up and levitate about a foot off the ground and ask someone to please just drag her along to save time.
"Hey guys... real quickly, did the Blast Bellows cause the quake? And where are the blast bellows now? We need to find it quickly!"
Persuasion: 27 (advantage because the two stormtroopers are charmed)

"Are we going to be able to remove the Blast Bellows without their expertise. I mean safely? It sounds like things are going badly here and time is of the essence", Rum asks Violet over the telepathic link as he starts to move closer to the other smiths that have not been so enamoured with Violet.
He makes sure to catch Lady Kaede's eye as he moves, so she can see he is heading to intercept the other smiths if they become trouble, and hopefully do the same in the other direction.
Lady Kaede catches the eye and motion of Rum, immediately sensing his plan of action. She mirrors his motion, approaching the fourth remaining smith. She still has her stormtrooper armor and helm on, so she uses the disguise to its full effect, acting like she is meant to be there, and is approaching the smith to inspect things for higher command, who is always giving orders to inspect things that need inspecting. For inspecting purposes, of course.

Spider Greko continues to scurry towards what he believes is the forge
"It's there." One of the smiths say, pointing to the structure in the center of the room. "In the Crucible. In the center."
"The shake?" The other says dumbly, dully, as if unaware. "Yes. And no. Always the shaking. But...nothing like this..."
