Rum ducks and weaves as the Gohma descend on him for striking the Queen. The combination of his speed and agility, along with the powers of his cloak, keep him from harms way, but he knows that a lucky hit will come soon enough.

He focusses his attacks on the now hurt and fallen Queen, remembering Ro's hypothesis that the other Gohma might back down if they kill her.

"Give it up your highness, your corruption has to end!", he says, sarcasm dripping from his use of the term 'your highness', as he throws everything he has at the Queen.

He empowers his strikes with lightning, trying to once again disrupt the Queen's Ki and keep her placid. He puts his all into the assault, first hitting out with his right palm, then his left, before bringing his left elbow down hard towards the Queen. He finally sends a solid kick her way.

The Queen Gohma screams as Rum batters her, breaking one of her legs and further reducing her movement and stunning her, keeping her from escaping the onslaught.

The Hive comes to her aid.  Gohma's leap at Rum from a myriad of directions.  Webbing flies.  Rum finds himself wrapped in webbing suddenly as a big Gohma comes at him from the darkening fog.  As if summoned, smaller Gohmas leap onto Rum, trying to dig in with their fangs, but can't seem to find a point to bite into.  Sorry sees Rum getting attacked and gets off two arrows, the second piercing one of the small Gohmas but, as if controlled by a higher power, as it undoubtedly was, it leaps at Rum anyway, but is unable to sink its fangs in.  

The Queen Gohma was unable to do anything...but more Gohma's begin to appear from the dark to attack the band...

Two more spiders drop down next to Rum.  The first is a small Gohma, lashing out at Rum as the other had before after it dropped down from the ceiling.  It's unable to bite Rum...but it's a warning sign that more might drop down...and one does.  It's big.  At least half the size of the Queen.  It roars and charges Rum, obviously some sort of praetorian guard for her highness.  Webbing sprays and fangs gnash but Rum isn't hit any further.  

As Rum once again disrupts the Ki flowing through the Queen, the hive goes into over drive. More Gohma coming from left and right, and even above. Duckoing and weaving can't help Rum avoid becoming webbed.

As the really big Gohma attacks, he reaches out with his draconic gift, sending a mental shove at it, but fails to push it away and only doing minimal damage.

Greko sensing the spiders surrounding Rum decides its time to join the fight. He shifts out of the fiendish spider and into his archer form creating bright light for 10 ft and dim another 10 feet beyond. He takes out his staff swirls it over his head and slams it into the ground and yells out in druidic

 With that a bolt of light streak towards the Queen followed by a barrage of twinkling arrows from Greko's back

Since the Queen seemed to be in a bit of trouble, Tuto feels right to take care the creatures crouding his feline companion. Firstly, he whips out his maracas with a twirl, followed by a quick shimmy, translucent motes of smiling fire fling themselves to Rum to the rhythm of battle. (Tuto gives Rum Bardic Inspiration). He turns his attention up to the new giant gohma, as he does, it's senses dim, their queens demands become a muddled cry for help. All it could hear was the gentle flicker of fire, then a voice.

"Help us fight the Gohma!" (Tuto casts Suggestion at Guard Gohma, DC 15)

The Guard Gohma ignores Tuto.

A swarm of Gohmas move to overtake Ro.  Two small ones and a big one have his attention but fail to do any meaningful damage...when one small one lands on his back and bites into the side of his neck.  A fourth small one tries to figure out how to bite through his armor...

Lelith methodically kept her focus on the Gohma Queen as she fired one arrow after another, making sure she kept a safe distance away from the swarm below her with her flying ability. The Queen did not want to die but she hardly had a choice in the matter, it is a prey now and she will fall before her, the hunter.

First Attack:

To Hit: 1d20 (5) + 9 = 14

Ro reels back after exhaling his cone of fire and sees the swarm of gohmas coming his way.  A wave of adrenaline rushes over the wizard as he brings his shield up to defend against his attackers, "Bring it, insects!"

The two smaller gohmas attempt to bash Ro, but he manages to swipe them away with his shield.  Behind the two smaller ones, a larger gohma hurls its full weight onto the wizard.  This throws Ro's balance off, leaving him open for another gohma to jump him from behind.  Ro quickly chants and brings his free hand up to the jumping gohma.  A golden shield appears for a brief moment and foils the last gohma's attack.

Successfully blocking the oncoming attacks, Ro finds his window to attack.  Aimed at the gohma queen and any gohmas in his path, Ro breathes another cone of fire.

Reaction (from previous turn): cast shield to block gohma's attack

Action: using Dragon's Breath against the Gohma Queen and any other gohmas in the path (whilst making sure Rum isn't hit in the crossfire).

Both of Lilith's arrows flit past the Queen with no effect.  Ro's Dragon's Breath, however, scorches her badly.  

One of the Gohma's leaps for Tuto, but misses and tumbles off the mound where they're fighting.

Oten effortlessly snaps through the webbing that has accumulated on him and moves around the Queen to get next to Ro. Once there, he begins stabbing at the Gohma trying to make a meal out of his ally while his defender moves to Ro's other side to intervene in any further attacks on him.

Reaction: Steel Defender imposes disadvantage on next adjacent Gohma to make an attack on an ally.

Oten's attack is able to bring down two more Gohmas; the one attacking Ro, and one next to it.  

The Gohmas continue to switch their tactics like a rolling wave, picking one target after another.  A cluster go for Lelith, with two different sets of fangs sinking into her.  Kora panics, rushing to Lelith's side and laying hands on her as she does so, revitalizing the Elf as much as possible, even as the next Gohma grabs for Lelith.  Webbing flies, but Lelith is able to get away.

Rum feels the restrictive sticky webbing covering his lower body, and knows he is exposed and should try and wrench himself free, but also knows that if the Queen rouses herself it could be the end of Twilight Embers.

"Let's see if we can finish this, hey Queen".

He is still close enough to hit her, and tries to connect with a flame fuelled punch with his right hand, followed by his left. He remembers the inspiring tune Tuto plays as it urges him on. Severely off balance, he reaches out once more with his right hand. He reaches out with his Ki, trying once more to disrupt the Queen's own Ki and stun her.

He then awaits the onslaught that will follow, praying to the Great Dragon his cloak will protect him at least a little.

The Queen Gohma begins to stir as she shakes off Rum's previous attacks, even as he pummels her with his fists.  

As she does this, Rum is swarmed by an army of her offspring.  Fangs dig at him from the darkening fog. though none find their way through his cloak.  

As Rum is swarmed, Sorry, seeing what is happening with the Queen, curses and fires off two arrows, missing.    The Queen hisses and leaps, hitting the ceiling of the cavern and moving away as quickly as she can.  She literally disappears into the darkness of the cavern.  

The whole room seems to hiss as she disappears.  

There is a sound in the darkness...a wet, gross sound...

Rum finds himself attacked by more Gohmas, and the big Praetorian Guard.    

Tuto spins on his heel as the Queen moves to retreat. He hadn't gotten to hit her yet, gosh dang it! That's not fair. He holds out a dagger and springs up a couple of feet to catch her legs.

Greko moves away from all the incoming spiders 30 feet towards the back. He digs into his bag and drops 7 tiny thorns into his hand. He bangs his walking stick on the ground and points it at Rum while speaking in Druidic

Stomping the ground in a huff, Tuto pulls out a second dagger and slashes at the nearest gohma.

One of the biggest Gohma's attacking Rum is cut down by Greko's twinkling arrows.  The spiked defense grows out of the floor all around the Tabaxi, trapping him and the Gohma's together.  

One of Tuto's slashes cuts through a young Gohma with ease, while the second damages one of the bigger ones.  

As if puppeted by a brain greater than their own, the Gohmas begin to disengage and fall back into the darkness....disappearing into the shadows and fog as they go...  Two small ones melt flawlessly into the darkness, though one of the bigger ones remains mostly visible as it goes...

Lelith saw the Gohma and their Queen trying to hide, and she sneered. The Queen will not be able to hide or escape from her, however, Lelith's actions were cut short when something grabbed her tights and waist, trying to drag her down and prevent her from moving. Instinctively, she quickly casted a spell under her breath and teleported herself thirty feet in the general direction the Gohma Queen escaped to but it was pointless, that momentary distraction was all it took and she hid away even beyond her sight and abilities. Her mark was still on the Gohma Queen but finding her was another problem altogether. Lelith decided to quickly warn the others by shouting. Lelith decided to blend in as well in hopes of catching the Gohma off guard. "There are many roots, vines, webbing, and crevices in this chamber for hiding. The Gohma and their Queen likely hid somewhere. Be careful!"

Stealth roll: 19

Ro begins to move down from their position at the entrance, backing up from the point of entry and pointing at one of the nearby Gohmas.  A bell tolls, and the Gohma falls dead.

Oten fires his javelin twice, killing one Gohma and severely injuring another while his steel defender moves next to his side.  

The Gohma he injured flees, moving into the darkness to get away.  Kora goes after the next before it can run and bashes it with her shillelagh, but it still moves away and into the darkness, not doing a good job of disappearing.
