Suddenly, at Delphinium's casting Faerie Fire, the creature lit up. It was roughly fifty feet to the right of Ward's position, up in the crook of a mushroom tree. Part of its body was obscured behind the limbs of the trunk, and it was invisible. It's head whipped around, dreadlocks flailing as it ascertained what had happened to it. The thing, whatever it was, was enormous, at least Goliath sized. Maybe a bit bigger...
Seeing Shavaris fall to some kind of fiery attack made the fairy's heart skip a beat but their shock was short lived as Ward immediately goes over to heal them. When they seem to come to life Delph breathes a sigh of relief. Then Ward was captured into a net! Is it trying to prevent them from healing? Well, that won't do at all! Delphinium heard its attack from before and had a general idea of where it was. Ward was able to point in a similar direction as well. The fairy had a good idea of it's location but still couldn't see it. Voices began to be heard all around trying to grab Delph and the others attention. Delphinium has had to learn some hard lessons of trickery and misdirection in the feywild. They were not happy memories and Delph didn't like them but for once they were coming in handy... this annoys Delphinium very much.
Zooming at the source the fairy tries to find them but cannot see them. However, there is a trick of the fey that allows them to see hidden things. You may even say it lights up the world. Judging the rough location of the attack that hit Shavaris by sound and where it sounded it came from Delphinium summons forth a bit of magic that was beat into them that is innate in most fey. It's especially a natural talent of fairies. Faerie fire. A magical spell that covers a large area as long as one can determine the location of a hidden being. It doesn't even matter if they are invisible or just a good hider. This spell will highlight them with neon orange lights if they are in it's area of effect. Almost like giving them a drawn outline of their body all around them like a sign that says "HERE I AM!" in big bold letters.
"I see yoooou." Delphinium smiles right at the creature. Being able to see the creature at last Delphinium summons their big astral blue fists and rushes the creature saying "Don't attack my friends!" Then they level a solid punch right at the creature followed by another. Three streaks of spectral blue fury slamming into the creature. No intent to kill but to make them give up, surrender or just be knocked unconscious. For one of the fists jabs in a a specific point Delphinium tries to hit often. This time feeling confident they channel a touch of extra ki into that one fist and slam the ki into the being as they punch them. In practice with the Thri-kreen this was showing Delph that they could stun an attacker without killng them, rendering them unable to fight back for a short time. They are hopeful this attack connects and stops them from attacking their friends anymore.
Delphinium used Faerie Fire
MOVE ACTION: Fly 40 feet.
BONUS ACTION: Summon Astral Fists (Enemy makes DEX save DC 17 or takes 10 Force damage)
ACTION: Attack, 2 attacks 10 for 9 force damage second attack 25 for 6 force damage
Extra: If either attack hits the target Delph makes use of one extra ki point to make them make a CON save DC 17 or become stunned until the end of Delphinium's next turn.
The wagoneers rally, and one, in the back, surges forward, pulling their wagon alongside Ironsides and Shavaris to block them with their cart and provide cover.
The creature gets clocked hard by one of Delphinium's punches, but shakes its head, makes a clicking sound, and swings a spear around like a bat, clubbing the Fairy.
“There it is, what the hell is that!!” Kerwyn shouts as he spots the creature. Speaking to no one in general he looks at his glaive and says “If it bleeds, we can kill it.”

Aoe doesn’t have time to think now, as the flashes of fairy fire make him blink… the ominous nature of the beast appearing with flecks of sparkle Against it’s invisible hide…
unsure as he backs up 30ft, aoe takes a fire bolt blast at the lit up target… “I hope we survive long enough to have some greetings with strange beings that don’t start and end with death!” He nervously mumbles under his breath to himself, wondering if this mission in fact needs a bard at all… perhaps it was more a fighter and mage type of world level issue, not a minstrel or courts…
firebolt: Attack: 22 Damage: 1
as his focus returns to the field, he gives a bardic inspiration dice (d6) to Johnathan, to be used on any single attack saving or ability roll.
First it was clocked by the tiny buzzing thing in front of it. Then a bolt of fire exploded across its chest. The creature roared, and then there was a hideous cackle of laughter coming from everywhere within the mushroom forest around them as the thing dropped down, grabbed the branch it was on, and swung, arching around toward the back of the tree and taking full cover.

Johnathan takes a look around his companions. In but an instance he sees Shavaris get knocked down, but then saw her get up again. He then sees the monster that they we warned about. The thing that laughed, LAUGHED at us. This simply won’t do. The monster decides to go hide behind a tree to try and hide from our attacks. Johnathan looks towards his companions, someone get Ward out of the net, I’m gonna give chase. And with that Johnathan rides on Spirit towards the tree and around so that Johnathan can see the monster. He looks at the monster, You think a tree can save you, cute. Let me show you a real monster. With that Johnathan calls forth the black flames around his arms, but something is different this time. The black flames firstly covered both his arms and shot two beams instead of one. Secondly, the beams weren’t pure black flames anymore. They had in the mixture of the black flames green skulls in the fire and as the beams travel they almost make a screaming like sound. If after moving Johnathan doesn’t see the monster he will then hold the beams as a held action.
As Johnathan gave chase, another of the Thri-Kreen bounded from the caravan. It jumped halfway to Ward before dashing the other half of the distance, scooped him up with its four arms, and then started back toward the caravan, carrying the Druid like it may carry a baby or... Larva... Or whatever their equivalent was.
As the creature is being assailed by a plentiful plethora of pummeling punches by Delph it suddenly seems to leap down from the tree after smacking the fairy. As it falls down Delphinium takes advantage of the fact it is in the air temporarily and unable to dodge as the fairy uses this opportunity to strike one more punch into its side and unleash their Ki violently into their body hopefully stunning them and make them fall in an uncontrolled way so they land harshly. As Delphinium does so they hear Kerwyn yell to kill it and Delphinium replies "WHAT! No! Beat it up don't kill it! What is it with you and your snail wanting to kill everything?"
REACTION: Attack of Opportunity 19 to hit 7 force damage. If this hits Delphinium spends another Ki point to Stunning Strike it again. DC 17 CON save or stunned until the end of their next turn.
“Because… that’s… what… we… do…”Kerwyn says between breaths as he runs at the creature. “Kill evil things that are trying to kill us. I’m not going to kissy lips and make up with this thing, look at the mouth on it!” Kerwyn keeps running 30 feet at the creature, his hand goes to his side and he pulls out his thrown glaive, throws it hard for two slices at the creature.
“C’mon!” He says as he looks it in the eye, “Old painless is waiting!”

As the strange laughter in the forest increases, Shavaris shakes her head getting herself out of her stupor - ain't got time for that! She watches in horror as Kerwyn falls next to her! Without thinking, she opens her pack and takes out a healing potion, draining it into his mouth.
Healing: 6
She then lets the bottle fall and dashes her way towards where the creature was last seen, using her full 70 feet of motion. Once there, she looks around and looks back at her crew panicked, "It's not around here! I don't know where the bastard went to!.. wait.."as she starts looking around where she is, she notices the creature's green blood on the ground and the trail of it heading up on the mushroom tree next to her, as she follows it up, she sees Delph, "Look out, it might be by you!!"
Ol Ironsides rushes in, his gastropod carrying him as fast as he could go. He goes by Ward and the Thri-Kreen before positioning himself between Kerwyn and the direction of battle.
He leans in... Mouth opening... Closing...
He grips his master with his mouth...
Gives him a gentle shake...
Releases him...
Nudges him with his face, leaving a trail of mucus suspended in the air as he withdraws...
Then wraps himself around Kerwyn to keep his master safe.
Delphinium is a bit flabbergasted that their faerie fire was somehow expunged let alone they saw them jump down from he tree branch. What cut them? It felt like something slashed at them not thrown weapons but rather a body behind a blade. The fairy can spot some greenish looking blood on the tree in front of them and wonders if there is two? Did one jump down while the other attacked. Did the other one go up? Delphinium wasn't sure. Following blood wasn't necessarily a sure way to find them. Delph throws a wide haymaker with one of their astral fists right around the branch it was at last just to make sure it wasn't there still. Then they look down and then up. The blue energy ball thing came from up here so it has to be up here still right? If Delph connects or senses it nearby dodging their fist they continue the attack. If they get nothing they move tot he next closest branch that could support the creatures weight which is just above Delph. They line up with the branch and rush down it throwing two astral fists out in front as they do so.
ACTION: Attack x 2, 15 with dis 11 force damage. 13 with dis 10 force damage.
MOVE: fly 40 feet
BONUS: Extra unarmed attack made with Astral fist 23 with dis 8 force damage.
Extra: If any attack hits the creature Delphinium will use another Ki point to attempt a stunning strike.
Delphinium's attacks hit nothing but air, but the clicking sound they could hear around them was becoming a growl... And also sounding like it was getting a little further away.
It sounded to all of them like it was getting further away.
The Wagoneers, with little left they could contribute, got the rolling stock moving, trying to get clear of the fighting...
Kerwyn splutters as he coughs and chokes, but wakes up, breathing! All he saw was a bright blue light and then a severe blast to his chest, a bright light and the darkness. “*Ack*, cough cough, “Th-ankcoughyou Shavaris, you saved my life!” And then she’s gone, darting away and Kerwyn loses track of her.
Then, Ole Ironsides rolls up and gives Kerwyn gooey, shiny, shimmering love, he is covered in slime as he sits up, looking for where the monster might be. He hears a strange sound come from the flail snail, a sort of snorting, half laughing, half mewling sound. “Laugh it up, slimeball.” he says to the protective snail. He keeps looking for the creature, ducking behind Ironsides’ shell.
Aoe sees the firey edging of light revealing the beast disappear, and stops cold in his tracks… his wrists raised slightly with a readied action fire bolt…. Just in case it appeared in his view.
he stood quiet, as not to call the attention of the being, holding off inspiring a second band member until perhaps a different moment soon to come…
