Just as you are talking and wondering what you should do next a loud roar of frustration echoes behind you, on the outside. A loud hiss follows a few seconds later as acid starts eating through the first set of doors.
A scrambling sound attracts your attention, then a loud banging as the door to the east is thrown open by what appears to be very , very , very dirty dwarves scurry pas you to the exit behind the statue.
One stops near you and looks bewildered at seeing foreigners. ...
"Run," he, but your pretty sure that beneath the grime it's a she, says, " Big lizard be mad. Bid Gulp says hide." She stops and seeing that no one moves waits for what seems to her dim-witted large folks.
"Run where?" Escarin asks the dirty little dwarf as he looks back at the doors, hearing them take a battering from the beast. "It sounds like a good plan to me, before the doors give up completely."

Geoff is surprised at the dwarf appearing just as he hears roaring coming from the entrance. He is slightly reluctant to leave the statue after everything that just occurred, but he knows they must continue with their mission.

"Agreed," Bryony says next to Geoff. With her own (nonmagical) staff in hand, she steps after the...well, calling them dwarves might be insulting to real dwarves. "We're running!" she tells the, er, dwarves and prepares (or resigns) herself to follow them.
After Geoff’s speech, Xorn was sure it was time to fight the ebon creature coming through the door. He had moved to an advantageous position as to be able to use the doorway against the dragon and was preparing to fight when the “dwarves” showed up.
Muttering to himself as everyone makes the decision to run, he strides quickly to follow. His hooves clopping in the ancient stone of this once majestic temple.
The Gully dwarf looks at you for a second and you can see the struggle in the little creature to process the information.
Then she smiles and moves toward a hole in the far wall.
"Big folks can"t go where Bupu go." She seems to shrug and continues. " We meet later ok ?"
Without waiting for an answer she slides into the hole, strange squishy noises makes the group very happy they can't follow her there.
Behind the group, Tyrros burst into laughter.
"Go, " he looks at his brother. " I'll distract the dragon and protect the sanctuary." More gravely he adds. "I should have died a long time ago. This I can do to repay the godess for the borrowed time."
After hearing the "Dwarf" say that they could not follow her Alex begins to look for their exit. After finding what appears to be the exit they need and hearing Tyrros statement "My friend be smart and good luck. I hope to see you on the other side." Turning to the others "We don't know what is on the other side of this door but it can not be much worse than what is out side that door." As he points to the main doors. "We need to move and keep our heads about us." He then makes his way to the door behind the statue and deeper into the temple.
Geoff is beginning to make his way out of the temple with the rest of the group, relieved that he doesn't have to get filthy while doing so, but hearing his brother's words, he is taken aback by Tyrros' comment as if he was just punched in the chest. He is not readily accepting of his brother potentially throwing his life away.
"Tyrros, don't be so eager to throw your life away! You're here for a reason, not on borrowed time! Don't worry about the temple! If you feel you need to make amends for anything you've done, then do so while living! If we end up fighting this dragon then we need your help doing so—this accomplishes nothing in the end! This is madness!"
He begins to tear up a bit, "If you insist on staying and dying, then so shall I. The wyvern scale I gave everyone means that we are stronger in numbers and should stick together, no matter what."
Seeing Geoff, and the staff, preparing to face the dragon Escarin rushes to his side, pulling him around by the shoulder he looks in his friends eyes for a second seeing his resolve.
"I know you can't leave him alone, so don't, I will stay with your brother and hold the dragon until you are all clear, who knows we might even escape, I still have a few tricks left in me. You have been given something no-one else has seen for over three centuries, proof of the old gods, you have to survive at all costs you and the staff must survive and find these disks. Bring hope to the world."

“What the hell do you both think you are doing!?” Yells Shan to Geoff, Escarin and Tyrros “Stop beign honorable and heoric and that all that men stuff that’s up in your head. You both are no more than a snack to that dragon, we need a plan to kill it and the blessed staff to do it. You idiot “ she says to Geoff “ are the civilization only hope. Do you think that thing is scaring? She has returned to Ansalon. As well as the Gods of Good are trying to reconnect with us, She, Takhisis has come to destroy and conquer. There is no time for foolish playing Huma around. Now you three come down that corridor or I, myself will turn you all into frogs and cook you legs!. MOVE! “
Xorn steps back toward the others. “Make up your damned minds. Either we fightin’ or we runnin’. Shan don’t think we can kill it. I say keep on the ground and we’ll find out if these fairy tales got any teeth. Figure it out though, which are we doin. ”
"We run," Bryony says. "Shan's right, Takhisis is back. Back to a world already broken by the Cataclysm. Right here, we're closer to tipping the scales back than anyone's come in hundreds of years. So let's get those Discs."
The redhead glances over at the minotaur and smiles. "We'll get our chance to kill that dragon, one way or another. But let's do it on our terms, on our choice of battlefield. Maybe one where it can't fly."
Geoff does not wish to leave his brother, but he knows they cannot delay and their quest is over if they all fall here.
"Tyrros, the others are right. We cannot stay here. There is still more for you to do...think about what you can accomplish by living rather than dying. I beg you to not do this, but I cannot stop you, nor can I send our friends to their deaths. I love you and the choice is yours my brother."
Geoff moves to join the others with tears in his eyes, and looks back to see what Tyrros chooses.

As you enter the room behind the statue you see a domed ceiling that arches sixty feet over the floor of this tall circular room. Vines and mosses dangle from great cracks in the ceiling; a collection of slimy molds clings to the walls. In the center of the room stands an empty pedestal, the top of which cannot be seen from the floor. On the west side of the room—just in front of the doors—a circular staircase, its flagstones slick with green film, descends into darkness.
The gully dwarves have all fled save the girl who watches you. She seems intent on seeing you to safety.
"Go, Bupu find you after the walk of the dead. Me promess." she says hands forming a strange sign over her heart.
"Thank you Bupu " says Shan " you are very brave. Are you going to be ok?" and she waits at Bupu's side until the others had started their descend and then she leaves the gully's side.
