Xorn, Bryony, Shan, and Escarin

The way up is not easy and Escarin seems to navigate the pla e like he knows it. He has to make detours once or twice and he mutters about the cataclysm destroying everything.

On the higher roundabout you stop and see a ghost working in the library. Shan needs to stop Escarin.

The ghost as the appearance of an old librarian and he also mutter to himself. 

Geoff, Kinlin, Tyrros and Alex

The king gets up from his throne and begins to move toward you. He has a hard time walking and his long cape hinders him even more.

"High Glup happy to see you. Big lizardmen not nice to gully dwarves," he stops for a second and adds, " but they strong."

"Dragon even stronger." he looks at Bupu and says "you take them to see dragon house?"  There is a hint of hope in his voice.

Kinlin

"See the dragon house " he says " sounds interesting but perhaps we should wait for the rest of our friends. You see they fall over the edge at the cauldrons, but Shanryar make them fall slowly... She is a wizard and has become really powerful since the last time we saw each other. We reunited at the Last Home Inn, back in Solace, but we had to leave because I heal that crazy man with Geoff's blue staff, but it was a brown staff when I picked it.. to be honest I don't know why I did that, hitting the man with the staff not taking it I mean, it was an interesting staff and I wanted to look closer to it... anyway... we had to leave the Inn by the latch that there is at Otik's kitchen and there Shan made for the first time that spell and we all float down safely, that's why I know that they are ok somewhere in the ruins looking for us... A dragon house you said? where is it?"

Shan

"Wait a minute Escarin " she whispers " look up... that way" she points with her free hand " there's a ghost, we could probably past him but if he gives off the alarm..."

( OOC: are there any books, even burned or rooted ones, in the floor or in the nearby shelfs? )

Geoff says to the High Gulp to add on to what Kinlin said, "uh yes, we destroyed some big lizardmen outside and at the cauldron. They may be  strong, but we're stronger. Especially with our friends — I hope they're alright, and we should wait for them, if we can."

"The dragon may be powerful, but we'll deal with it. Where is this dragon house and do you mean its lair? We need our friends help if we're going there."

There are many books. Most are either burnt or full of mold but some might be still good. What you see is that despite having many books on the floor many have been taken.

Ooc: undead in Dragonlance are usually cursed being and have their own alignement. Not necessarily evil. Zombies and skeletons are still mindless creatures. 

Shan 

“I could try to catch his attention by throwing books to the other side... or we can try to talk with him...” he says to Escarin and the others.

"I'm going to talk to him, watch my back though, I don't know how he will respond."

Escarin sets off with purpose towards the ghost, if three is no obvious response he will address him. 

Shan walks a few steps behind Escarin. 

Escarin moves toward the ghost. You need to go a bit farther in the library and one floor down. 

The ghost looks like the archetype of a keeper of knowledge. Long disheveled and thin hair. Weak stature and long fingers with visible spots of dried ink. 

He looks up from his book when you get closer. The book is unreadable but the undead doesn t seem to notice.

He smiles at you all and stands up trying to erase the wrinkles of his robes.

"visitors... Haven't seen those in .. Ages it seems.  

"It appears not, we mean no harm to you or your library. We revere knowledge and wish to learn more of the past. I was.. summoned here, there is a part of the library hidden to most that I must enter, as you are clearly the custodian I thought it only right to tell you of my intentions. The one whose space it is has bidden me to enter and I cannot refuse him. May we proceed?" Escarin bows before the librarian. 

Bryony dutifully watches the backs of Escarin, Shan and Xorn.  Especially in the event that creepy undead decide to flank the group while they're distracted by the (admittedly pleasant so far) spectral librarian.  

"My name is Darius Farlorn." the voice is soft "The gods have cursed me to stay here." There is an hint of trepidation in his voice as he goes forth "until I answer the question of a living being. Now that you know the condition we can talk."

OOC: so this is going to be a careful conversation because he is looking for a question that will set him free. Or not if one of you decides to ask something. 

Shan smiles to Darius and relax a little bit.

”And it is you who must do the question or can be any question by any living beign?” She asks with a hint of hope in her voice. 

Xorn raises his hand as Shan speaks with an uncertain grunt. Then lowers it when she finished. “Mmmm? never mind.” He mumbles. 

OOC: oops my last post didn't work sorry. 

Shan need to rephrase because she actually asks a question... 

(The question is intended, she is trying to free him. Just hope that if it is not the right question makes him to attack. She could ask where the spellbooks are but she is confident on Escarin and herself hehe ) 

Ok just to be sure. 

The librarian looks at Shan with a weird surprise expression. he manages to say " Thank you." before disappearing into oblivion. 

Shan smiles back to the librarian as it dissapears. 

“ That well better than expected. Are you alright Xorn? Did I do something wrong? “ ask to his friend the wizard, having noticing his expression before.

Bryony opens her mouth when Shan voices her question...and then the ghost disappears and she shuts her mouth, opportunity missed.  

Instead, she gives Xorn a meaningful look, sighs and goes back to watching the entrance and listening for anyone approaching while her party members go searching for whatever they hope to find, now that the only person who could have given them directions disappeared...

Escarin looks at his friend, smiles and turns back to the location he has been given and sets off. "Shan you probably did the right thing but maybe we could have tried to find out if anything would try and stop us!" He calls out over his shoulder.
