Malachi returns the amulet back to Samir as the party prepares for their journey and heads down the tunnel. He pulls his hair back from his forehead, ensuring the mark from Razmus is visible, and pulls out a necklace adorned with several large rat ears and places it around his neck. He looks sheepishly at the others “I took this from Marcus, figured it may come in handy. I will scout just ahead of the group and may be able to pass as one of them if we run into any trouble in the tunnels.”
Malachi moves slightly ahead of the party, trying to stay around 30 feet in front, relying on his darkvision and other senses to provide an early warning of any dangers ahead. (Passive Perception: 14)
Samir allows the others to discuss the disposition of the prisoners, choosing to hope that Rana and the others will do the right thing, as he believes that they are, indeed, good people behind the terribleness of their trauma. Meanwhile, he sets to collecting up his materials and various items, placing them into his seemingly never-ending satchel. With his satchel in place and his bolt thrower in its case and slung around his body in easy reach, he heads out with the others. As they travel he allows himself to get lost in studying their surroundings. While Malachi takes the forward-most position, Samir contents himself with being somewhat near the front of the rest of the group. In no way does he consider himself a warrior of any kind, but he does know that the magic invested in his armor can serve to help protect him in cases of danger. Along the way, he will keep up a steady bluish glow with a minor investment of will, typically causing the strap of his bolt-thrower case to light up by tracing a light coating of phosphorescent liquid on it.
Eager to get moving, Ashley gives Rana a quick squeeze, "Good luck to you and your friends, till we meet again."she then joins the rest of the group, in the middle of the group, keeping an eye out along the way for anything that seems out of the norm or any more markings along the tunnel walls.
Into the unknown the group goes, illuminated by Samir's light. Wet stone glistens, and drops of water create a distant *plink *plink. After about half an hour of walking, Samir notices a marking on the wall to his right. He points it out, and Ashley and Vilus immediately recognize it as being similar to the one they found at the first fork.
It indicates a passage to the side that they had nearly missed, with it being hidden in the deep shadows cast by the uneven rocky wall. It doesn't seem to be the main path, but Malachi hears something from down the secret side passage. A low growling breath. Malachi can also smell a mix of wet animal and blood in the air.
Vilus slows along with Malachi as the sorcerer listens down the passage, "if anything hostile resides within then it's best to be dealt with now than left to surprise us later.." his gruff voice brought low to a whisper as he speaks.
Joren also speaks in a low voice. "It may be the voice of a beast in pain I was hearing last night while standing guard. Or not. I agree. I am preferring not to pick fights with relatively innocent creatures, but it may be better than them attacking us from behind. We should investigate."
"If it is gravely wounded," Samir began. His hand begins to rise up to fidget with his glasses, only to stop as he catches himself and lowers back to rest on his bag strap. "Then perhaps the poor creature needs to be, well, put out of its misery? Hopefully it is not suffering too terribly and wem ight be able to move past?" His voices rises a slight bit at the end, questioningly. He moves to unsnap the cover on his bolt thrower, just in case.
Cautiously rounding the first corner of the side tunnel, Malachi spots a pool of partially congealed blood, with a trail leading off further down the passage.
(Everyone at this point may make active rolls for stealth, perception, etc.)
“That doesn’t look good” Malachi points to the pool of blood and warns the others. He grasps the crystal on his necklace and with a whispered word wraps himself in protective magic before continuing slowly and quietly down the tunnel.
As the group creeps forward, Joren hears the growling breath louder and louder around an upcoming bend.
Malachi peers around the bend to see that the tunnel widens considerably into a large chamber with several tunnels branching off of it. In the middle of the chamber is what appears to be an enormous bear, though it's pink fleshy body is wrinkled and entirely hairless. The blood trail leads right to it, and clamped around its right fore leg is a vicious-looking metal trap made of spike and springs. The creature looks severely wounded, and its breathing is laboured.
Samir does his best to conceal his light so as not to give them away, but in the darkness, his foot catches on an unexpected ridge. He stumbles. Everyone stops, holding their breath and straining their ears.
The hairless bear snorts and spins its head around in the direction of the noise, giving Malachi a good look at the thing's face. Like a star-nose mole, it has no eyes. The mole-bear growls and metal scrapes as it begins to shift. Hearing this, Malachi and Vilus have just a moment to react before things get messy.
Malachi and Vilus have a surprise round, and then combat will proceed as such:

Seeing it has no eyes, Vilus does the one thing he can think of to finish the fight before it even starts, he bellows out an animalistic roar at the beast and pounds the floor in front of him, hard.
In an attempt to make the group seen bigger and more threatening he uses his action to try to intimidate the beast.
Malachi steps back as the beast roars at Vilus, seemingly unaffected by his attempted intimidation. “It is injured, should we try to keep it still and remove the trap, or is it best to put it out of its misery?”
Unsure of the best approach to take, Malachi tries to keep the creature disoriented and sends a spike of mental energy into its mind.
(DC 14 Int save or 3 psychic damage and subtract 2 from its next saving throw before the end of Malachi's next turn.)
"it's injured, trapped and backed into s corner. This is the most dangerous it could possibly be right now. Do not underestimate it."
With that said Vilus gets within around 15ft of the mole bear to it's right side, and looking at the blood stained wound on its right foreleg a, Vilus' concentrates casting Toll the Dead for 2 dmg

Joren moves up from his rear position and summons his echo, sending it into melee with the mole bear. Spinning his greatsword once slowly and tapping the pommel for luck, he calls out:
"Everyone except my echo and perhaps Marion attacking at range, best. At least 15' away, staying. Letting my echoes take some hits. Still feeling sad killing this poor, injured beast, though. Perhaps we can be knocking out and removing the trap from the leg. Cultist trap perhaps?"
Joren follows his own advice, standing 15' back with the others. He attacks non-lethally from his echo's position with his greatsword, positioning his echo so that the mole bear would have to get by it to get to the rest of the party (including himself).

Ashley stares at Joren and then back at the beast, nonlethal? I don't even think I have that capability! but this beast is not going to get my friends. She holds up her hands palms towards the beast. Her soft redish fingers spread and the tips start turning blue as casts [spelll]frostbite[/spell] "Mordere di Frigus"
CON save 12 or 4 cold damage and disadvantage on its next attack

1. Party2. Mole Bear
So Malachi and Vilus can essentially act twice
