Samir, relieved that Vilus is once more on his feet, moves hastily to follow Ashley, muttering a quick request to whatever deific figures might be listening that he doesn't break an ankle (or worse) on the way out.
One after the other, Ashley and Samir vault out of the second story window, each tucking into a roll the moment their feet touch the ground before rising up unharmed. Ashley can still hear the clamour from inside, but it seems like there is still time before anyone manages to circle around the rather large warehouse
As the assault on the door continues, parts of the frame begin to splinter (6 more points of damage).
Vilus launches himself out of the window and lands less than delicately, he looks to Ashley and Samir, bloodstains still wet around his eyes and burnt fingertips, "what's the plan?" He asks with a smile, attempting to keep his voice down enough as to not be heard by the oncoming hostiles "should we go find andra at the mine?"
Joren waits for Malachi and Marion to also exit the window.
Assuming they do so, at that point, he closes the window lightly, sends his echo outside with the others, then loudly walks into the secret room himself.
At the last second, he swaps with his echo, trying to provide a last bit of misdirection (accepting that his echo then disappears as it is more than 30' away).
"I am thinking we first make ourselves scarce. I am having... I have no fear of these individuals but, Marshal Lanya is our ally for now. That will change if we are identified as assaulting and knocking out Tensmith warehouse workers, even if it is self-defense. They are running around here to the back to block our escape. Vilus can disguise himself. Perhaps Ashley or Malachi, illusion or suggestion? In any case, let us be moving. Unless one of you is having some other way to make it look natural for us to be here?"
"I believe we should move away from here as quickly as we can without drawing attention."
Samir proceeds to put action to words and begins heading off in a somewhat random direction, only caring that it take them away from the warehouse and those that are seeking to discover them.
"Wait, Samir.. guys let's go down this alley. We have enough time to get down this one and as you can see there are a lot of boxes and crates and other things to help visually block us." And she runs down the alley to give them all room to hide from the pursuers.
Malachi leaps out of the window and follows the others down to the street, making a mental note to take a closer look at the items he grabbed from the desk the first chance he could. He nods wordlessly at Joren’s suggestion and follows Ashley and Samir down the alley, pausing just long enough to look left and right for any sign of pursuers from the warehouse. "Do we dare wait for the Marshal to return, or should we go find Andra on our own?"

As Malachi lands, he realizes he can't roll without spilling his box of trinkets, and has to use a hand and a knee to finish breaking the fall. He feels the sharp pain of the hard ground scraping his skin and knees he'll probably have a bit of a bruise the next day, but a moment later he is back on his feet running after the others. (5 )
With a heavy clank, Marion lands behind him in the same kneeling pose, though she rises up seemingly without injury. Then the window closes behind her, and Joren flickers into place beside her. Together they take off for the convenient alley Ashley had spotted, and the piles of crates and barrels quickly obscure the office building from view as the shouting voices fade into the distance behind them.
Ashley leads the group through a serious of narrow alleys between tall warehouse buildings, and then they reach the edge of the warehouse district to see a wider street lined with houses and little shops. A few people seem to be in a hurry. The industrial smell of the city seems a little smoky today. There is no breeze at the moment. A dog starts persistently barking somewhere in the distance. Across the street, someone slams the shutters of a second story window. A duo of yellow-garbed guards pass by at a light jog, not even taking note of Vilus's appearance.
Deciding to track down Lanya, the group starts to head north toward the mines and the precinct. A man walks by in a daze staring blankly at his empty hands. Wild laughter can be heard from inside one building as the group passes by. A steady trickle of water worms its way down the street, stemming from under the closed door of a ceramics shop. A woman sits curled up against the mine's perimeter wall clutching her head and whispering "shutupshutupshutupshutupshutup..."
Just past her is the gatehouse and attached precinct. Out front, a senior officer gives orders to a group of 6junior officers. He points off toward the city and they run off in groups of 2 in different directions. One goes east, one goes west, and the other heads for the warehouse district. The senior officer sees the adventurers approaching and calls out, "Mayor Berg, What brings you this way? And where are the officers assigned to you?"
As they pass the woman muttering, Vilus flashes a glance at Malachi and then back to the woman with a quick nod.
As he is addressed by the senior officer he clears his throat "there was some commotion in Andra's office, something bad. Sent them to find out what it is, in lieu of that I have these fine folk who are fully capable of protecting me thank you. Speaking of Andra, I need to speak to him now, and also Marshal Lanya if you've seen either of them." Vilus keeps his tone demanding and hurried, trying to emulate the callous and contemptuous mannerisms of the man they had met.
As the group head by the seemingly strange occurrences, Ashley thinks back to when they went through this town earlier with Lanya. She can't recall anything of the sort and here there were several instances of something utterly wrong. She worries if this has anything to do with them and what they did in Andra's office. That was quite the explosion..
Samir cannot help but to notice the oddities going on. The woman outside the mine, in particular, sticks in his head. Something was happening. Logically, he could only connect whatever strangeness was occurring to the cult they were seemingly embattled with. As they walk, his eyes flicker abotu them, but always returning to the seemingly inert medallion wrapped at his wrist. Was it dead? If so, why? If they had lost such a useful tool, it could prove terribly counterproductive to their goals.
For a moment, his mind began to wander back to the vision he had experienced back in the secret room. The strange figure with a hidden face. The water. The warm, glowing threads that even now seemed to hum in the back of his consciousness. With a shake of his head he pushes the thoughts away, compartmentalizing his attention and focusing on the here and now, and the possible dangers surrounding them.
With the strangeness in the town, Joren is not sure if Razmus is now affecting the townsfolks' minds, or if Andra is beginning to blast his way into the cultists' tunnels. None of it is good. Like a distracted military encampment just beginning to confusedly understand that they are under covert attack.
He does not bother hiding his echo, moving it along apace with himself, the two of them flanking the party and watching for danger.
The officer strokes his moustache. "Ah, good, good. I just sent out some men to investigate myself, but I'm glad we have an early first response." He seems too distracted by his own business to take much note of the strangers accompanying the 'mayor.'
"I just got on duty, so I couldn't tell you if Andra is here or not, but I did see Lanya come through looking for warrant papers a little bit ago. Haven't seen her come back through, so you might be able to catch her still. I guess that saves her the trip to get your signature. Just head through the front door, stay on the main floor, and head down the hallway on your right. Door at the very end. Good day"
Joren growls darkly under his breath once away from the officer, responding to Vilus (not angry at the goliath posing as Berg, but at the situation).
"Nothing good. Something invading people's minds. Smoke in the air. I am worrying Marshal Lanya may have been captured. There is no way our actions in Andra's office was not drawing Razmus' attention. Being on guard, all of us! Things may be escalating."
His echo walks in the front with whoever is leading, with Joren in the back as rear guard. He draws his greatsword.
"I just hope we aren't the cause of it. We definitely did some damage in that room." Ashley sounds more withdrawn and not her normal chipper self and she walks in the middle of the group, worrying her hands in front of her. She thinks back to the shadow she saw in her vision and wonders if she should worry about that as well as Razmus.
Following the simple directions, the group quickly arrives at the aforementioned door. Opening it up and stepping inside, Villus looks around a room with several work desks and an assortment of scrolls and parchments both in shelfs and strewn about desk tops. This is a place where a lot of paper work gets done. There are no windows, but there is another door at the far end of the room. No sign of Lanya though.
