You see it bend over and sniff the ground a little, before suddenly standing upright. It looks right in the party’s direction, before slightly cocking its head.

Gregor slowly pops out his bear claw from its eye glass case, and grips it in his hand to cast speak with animals.

(do you want me to roll to get the claw out without freaking out the lizard, a persuasion roll, both, or something entirely different?)

Chubby’s Nature check (this isn’t going to be good!): 12

Crispy leans towards Nia. "That was a great swim. No fish with big teeth."

Crispy covers her mouth to stifle an incoming choked up guffaw because she knows EXACTLY what (and/or) who that is.

"Liam." She whispers loudly. "What in the world is your family doing out here??"

She then proceeds to initiate a non-threatening action of welcome based on that nat20. She gives a subtle look to Chubby that says "cover me".

Liam frowns deeply at the "family" comment but otherwise remains as still as possible, so as not to provoke this unfamiliar creature.

Gregor, you take your tooth out easily, and start to chant under your breath (takes 10 minutes to cast).

Crispy, you immediately realise the situation you're in. You study the creature, which is curiously looking at you from a distance and begin to panic. You know those two rustlings from either side were more of the same kind, as these animals always hunt in packs. Velociraptors.

Right then, the Velociraptor almost looks like it can read your face of realization as it raises its head and let's out a loud, pulsating call "Pew! Pew!"

The rustling from either side in the bushes begins again, and as you all get ready for them, what you didn't notice was the other two behind the group, poised to strike.

Roll initiative!

Nia threw Crispy an annoyed look at the 'family' comment and was about to say something when the creature let out a call. This kind of thing was generally not good and she tensed for battle.

"Sheesh, tough crowd." Crispy says to herself, then to everyone: "Hells, lighten up a bi- "

Crispy goes quiet. Danger. It's party time.

Unprepared, she struggles to unlatch both of her short swords. Must be the heat. She fumbles a bit. "Hells...c'mon!!"

Gregor pockets the claw and mutters about how this “power of nature baloonky” is practically useless in the wild.

OOC: Don't forget it also lasts for 10 min after casting Gregor! Maybe he just needs to find his rhythm :p

Ok, whoo-ee, they're some rolls.

So, order is: V5, Liam, V1, V3, Nia, Gregor, Chubbs, Crispy, V2, V4.

But first, V1 and V2 gained a surprise round.

V1 leaps out as you're all fumbling for weapons and wands, and lashes at Crispy with its large hind claws and snaps with it's sharp rows of teeth;

Bite: hit: 17 dmg: 5

V2 simultaneously mirrors it's pack mate and attacks Liam;

Claws: Hit: 20 dmg: 5

Bite: Hit: 19 dmg: 7

Initiative order now kicks in, V5 sees its team close in and darts forward straight for Gregor!
