Trader shop: This shop is a double storey timber and brick building, with several leaded glass windows and a tiled mosaic floor. A stele engraved with geometric patterns stands beside the building. The shopkeeper is a young female Elf named Garma. "What can I do ye for?" - Potion of Diminution (50 gp) - Potion of Healing (common 10gp, uncommon 25gp) - Potion of Invisibility (150gp)
Armorer: This shop is a small, one story hut with a brick mosaic floor. The shopkeeper is a heavyset female gnome named Kadu. She also deals in fancy masks. "Welcome welcome, do you like any of my wares?" - Armor of Gleaming, Chain Shirt (350gp) - Sentinel Shield (150gp) - Face mask. This wooden mask depicts some sort of cultural god. (50sp)
Weapon smith: The shop is a single storey timber framed building, with a concrete floor. The surrounding yard is filled with scorch marks and craters. The shopkeeper is a reserved male elf named Lainni. "Come in and feel free to look!... But please, do not touch..." - Ammunition, +1 (25gp per 20 arrows/xbow bolts) - Dagger of Venom (350gp) - Giant Slayer (425gp) - Staff of Adornment (10gp) - Wand of Conducting(10gp) - Wand of Magic Detection (150gp) - Staff of the Adder (150gp)
Additionally, you are able to find all starting mundane equipment out of the Player's Handbook at the costs listed, aside from: half plate, spiked, splint and plate armour. I probably won't reply that much for the next few hours, but feel free to converse with the shop keepers, you may or may not get a response =P
"Hold a moment." Liam says quickly and firmly before Nia can dash away. Then he motions toward the gold still remaining on the table, neatly divided into two piles of 300gp each.
"Can you transport this in your bag until we get to a bank?" he asks as he pulls out a thoroughly mundane sack to put his coin in so the sums are kept separate.
Also, it just occurred to me that I still haven't decided what Liam's starting uncommon magic item should be...I should probably make a decision on that...
After some consideration, I think I'd like Liam to start with a Weapon of Warning, specifically a dagger that he received many years ago as a gift from his mentor. The dagger is finely crafted of a bronze-like metal with a pattern of scales etched into the handle and the back edge of the blade, and it grows slightly warm when within 120 feet of a dragon. (That's the Dragon creator special feature from the DMG, if the DM allows that. If not, I'm okay with that too.) The dagger's name is Vigilance, though Liam usually calls it Vigil.
Liam makes sure Nia only shovels her pile as he scoops his into his sack. Then he ties the sack securely before handing it over to Nia to put in her bag for the time being as well.
"So, should we attempt to track down the others, or just look for the nearest bank ourselves?"
He pauses for a moment, a thoughtful look glimmering in his eyes behind his glasses. "Or would you rather go shopping now while we have the time? See if we can gather some last minute supplies before leaving on this airship in the morning?"

Crispy and Chubby wobble over to the shops, and look the wares over. While they check out the weapons, armor, and supplies, they make silly comments to themselves about the group, and about their last adventure. Every once in a while, while trying to keep Chubby upright, Crispy looks over her shoulder now and again, as her past has the tendency to catch her by surprise. She's had a few drinks, so it would be embarrassing to be caught off guard this day.
"Man, what a bunch of squares." She snorts. "Some things never change, eh, Chubbs? Well, it sure beats what I used to do. Hey are you listening to me? I'm over here."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(Meanwhile, in the side adventures of Gregor)
Gregor finds himself bargaining with the armorer, not because he needs armor, no armor is for the funny dwarf man, he's in the shop for the fancy masks that seem to be more prevalent then the actual gear. His eyes catch on a particularly exotic one, made of delicately carved wood, and depicting some deity or other supernatural power that seems foreign to Gregor's (admittedly small) reservoir of arcane or religious knowledge.
"Surely beautiful gnome lady can give Gregor discount, one mask lover to another, yes?" Gregor exclaims, giving the lady behind the counter his most charming smile, and a brief and admittedly unnecessary flex of his biceps.
(Persuasion Roll: 12)
Gregor will buy the mask, regardless of the discount, and will be ready to progress to the next day in game.
Chubby, only slightly inebriated, starts to walk to the bank when Crispy catches up with him, and convinces him to use their new found wealth to procure items for their adventure. As they wobble over to the shops and look the wares over, nothing catches Chubby's eye until they enter the armorer, and speak with Kadu. Chubby's eyes are drawn to the fancy shield with an eye on it, looking back at him. After a five minute staring match, Chubby calls out to Kadu "How much for this shield?"
Kadu excitedly replies back with "150 shiny gold pieces, dear sir! You won't find a better deal in town!"
Chubby: "And how much would you give me if I sold you my brand new shield?"
Kadu: "I'd be willing to buy that off of you for 5gp."
Chubby: "It's a deal! I'll sell you my shield, and buy that fancy one in trade, and owe you 145gp. Whoa...whoa...whoa....what's with that mask you have hanging on the wall?"
Kadu: "Ahhhhh, I see you're interested in the exceptionally rare! That, my new friend, is a mask of the God Klaatu. Very rare indeed. Very special. On sale today, just for you, 30sp. Interested?"
Chubby: "What the heck, throw that in with the sale. If anything, it'll bring me good luck on my next adventure! Now, let's see....carry the one, account for the local industrial interest rate, multiply by the present cost of money, reduce for inflation....." he continues to trail off, mumbling to himself, counting fingers and toes...."I owe you 150gp!" With deft hands (amazing, considering the amount of liquor he currently has swirling around in his gut), he precisely counts out 150 gold pieces in 15 perfectly neat stacks of 10 each on the counter. Clapping his hands together with excitement, he gently places his old shield on the counter, and grabs the Sentinel Shield and cultural god face mask from Kadu.
Wheeling about on one foot (but instead of turning 180, he does a full 360), Chubby proceeds to walk out of the store, only to realize that he's walking straight ahead, the wrong way. "Right. THAT way!" Turning around this time, body swinging in multiple directions, he finally successfully manages to leave the store.
OOC: I assume selling my old shield (for 5gp) for half the regular purchase price (10gp) is cool?
Once outside the store, Chubby proudly shows off his new wares to his friend Crispy. "I'm thirsty! How 'bout we go celebrate my new cool gear by throwing back a few cold ones?"
Crispy: "Good idea, my friend! But first, let me go help you spend more of your money...errr, invest your money!"
With that, Chubby and Crispy head over to the trader's shop, and speak with Garma.
Crispy: "My friend Chubby here would like to purchase one of your potions, good sir. The purple one, over there" he says, while pointing to the Potion of Healing (uncommon, aka Potion of Greater Healing). "How much for that?"
Garma: "That's a very special healing potion, made by a very powerful local wizard....25gp. No less."
Crispy: "Yowza! That's a lot for a potion. It better work!" and with that, he hands 25gp of Chubby's gold over to Garma.
Garma: "You won't be disappointed, my friend. Very powerful indeed. A pleasure doing business with you! Can I interest you in anything else?"
Chubby to Crispy: "Here, my friend, let me hold onto the rest of your gold..."
OOC: So, in summary, Chubby sold his old shield (+5gp), purchased a Sentinal Shield (-150gp), purchased that weird mask (-50sp = -5gp), and purchased a Greater Healing potion (-25gp). Net 175gp spent. The remaining 125gp of mine is now in the capable hands (for "investing!") of Crispy.
Nia seemed like she was in heaven with a bag full of gold and shops glistening with shiny wares.
She dashed towards a shop and got herself fitted for a set of fine clothing: red leather knee boots with rhinestones glued on in patterns of flames, comfortable silk underwear, red silk mage robes with mystic runes embroidered in gold thread and also decorated with rhinestones in flame patterns on the sleeves and at the hem and in green stones was her name NIA REDFALLOW on the back in block letters. All of this was topped off with a tall wizard hat that matched the robes, flame designs, WIZARD in green stones and all.
After that she went to the weapon smith where she picked up for 20 gold, loudly proclaiming the purchase a steal, a magic staff of polished oak carved with runes and designs depicting air and a red wood wand carved with musical notes.
Nice work everybody! All transactions seem fine. Crispy ensure you pay for that dagger ;) Gregor... as charming as your efforts were, you were unable to swindle a discount.. sorry haha.
Let me know if your characters are ready for the next morning if you have not already and we’ll kick it off in a few hours when I get home tonight :)
Also please ensure your DND beyond character sheets are updated with coinage and items. You will have attuned to any magic items purchased over the long rest.
Whilst keeping up with Nia could in fact be considered a full time job in and of itself, Liam does still manage to find the time to do some shopping of his own. Seeing nothing of particular interest to him in either the armorer or weaponsmith's shops, he spends little time there, but he does linger for quite a while in Garma's trade depot.
All told, he ends up purchasing a new bedroll(1gp), a comfortable set of traveling clothes (2gp), a finely crafted silver flask etched with some random runes (2cp), a new mess kit to replace his old one that Gregor ruined during the last adventure by leaving it over the fire too long (2sp), a few (3) days worth of rations (15sp), a 50 foot bundle of silk rope (10gp), a spare sack (1cp), a nifty signal whistle shaped like a raven, which reminds him of Calcifer, his familiar (5cp), a bar of soap for each party member (10cp), a fresh waterskin(2sp), and 3 potions of greater healing (75gp). Total of 88gp, 19sp, and 18cp, or 90gp and 8cp.
Seeing how much gold he has left, he does make one additional detour on the way back to the inn the group is staying in. Stopping at a local bookseller, he inquires about the possibility of finding a particularly durable fresh spellbook (Enduring Spellbook), since he's getting to the point where he'd like to have a backup. If he's perchance able to find one, he'll pay what he needs to for it (unless it's over 200gp). Any coin he has remaining after that will be deposited in the bank, except for 18gp, 17sp, and 22cp.
Just figured it would be worth asking about the spellbook. If he doesn't find one, that's fine with me. Let me know one way or the other.

Sounds fine with me!

Dagger paid for and will equip when I get to woik. Other than that, she is reddy.
Just waiting for a yay or nay on the spellbook. Then I can finalize Liam's currency and he's set to go.
Chubby and I have spent all of our money, just FYI.
