((Apologies for the delay - was visiting family for the holidays! I'm hoping it is reasonable for Liri to have seen a polar bear given the state of the world currently, but if not I'll use a crocodile again - the initial athletes check to escape grapple is the same for both))
Liri, frantically aware that she is being hauled to the edge of the waterfall, transforms into a massive white polar bear before attempting once again to break free of the weird's grasp.
(OOC: Polar Bear works! Good thing for you, the athletics check isn't needed)
Liri suddenly morphs into a ferocious polar bear, and with the rapid change in size, the water wierd loses its grip on her. Liri, make an Athletics check to determine your speed for the turn: 15+ full speed, 6-14 half, and 5 or less 0, and then you still have your action for the turn!
(( Just realised the polar bear's athletics is +8 instead of +5, so check above would have been 11, but it's irrelevant now in any case! Polar bears have a swim speed of 30ft, so do I still need to make the athletics check here again? I don't think I made the athletics check before as the crocodile - just the strength saving throw. Also, should I be doing the saving throw again here? ))
Didn't realize they had a swim speed! No need for the strength check. And yeah, make the saving throw at the end of your turn since that will be the top of the order
You dodge of the way of the weird and rush upstream as much as you can, ensuring you are nimble enough to dodge its grasp, though you do have to expend some movement getting around it as it was directly in front of you. Your massive paws grip the river floor, and you resist the flow of the water as it pushes on you
Elandra is up! At the start of your turn, make a DC 15 strength save to avoid being pushed and if you fail, make a Dex save to stay tied into the rope
Losing her grip and the cord untying again, Elandra repeats her previous action, chasing after the flailing rope, tying the end around her waist again, this time using a slip knot so that only the knot coming undone will release her, and then using it to pull herself as close to shore as possible.
Between Koric's bolts of force and Soloth's first arrow, the water wierd is slammed back into the water and its form discintigrates. When it does, the river suddenly stops rushing, despite the myrmidon's presence. Perhaps some sort of enchantment has been broken? Almost instantaniously, the clouds overhead grow darker than before and a few bolts of lightning strike down, luckilly missing the water itself or any of you. With the same king of frightening suddennes, the myrmidon turns to look at each of you, its eyes crackling with lightning. The gold of its armor begins to morph and the water seems to flow back out of it, though it doesn't appear to be getting unsummoned but rather... transformed? Possessed?
Whatever it is, you don'tt have much time to contemplate it. In that same moment, everyone's vision begins to flicker, and you feel yourselves lose control over your bodies for a moment as some sort of intensely powerful magic takes hold. Though your vision is blury, anyone who wants to can try to get a good look at anything in this moment can try to make a DC 20 perception check to do so. We are also now out of initiative
When your eyes open again, you are again in a familiar location - Sigil, the City of Doors, and the place you met your gods for the first time before setting out on this grand quest. Though it wasn't all that long ago, only having been about a week, it certainly feels as though with your travels towards Axeholm and eventual discovery at the Mere of Dead Men that it has been far far more than that. As you arrive in the room, you all notice that the thrones that the gods summoned in your initial meeting remain, as do the doors you know the gods can enter through, though something has clearly changed in this room. The throne of Lux's god Lathander lays in smoldering rubble on the floor, which for a throne made of pure light seems rather impossible by standard means for force. The shards of it strewn across the floor glow with a harsh, glaring light far different from the radiant glow you remember it having when you first arrived here
Perhaps just as interesting (though certainly less concerning) is the inclusion of two new thrones in the room. Next to Semunaya's rather simplistic throne, an ornate structure of bone is now present, and all the way on the other side of the room, on the other side of Tymora's throne, a throne of hot magma and raging flame now stands. As you all take a moment to look at it, another figure pops into the space
Nivinia, please indroduce your character! Where was Effigy beforehand, and how does he react to being summoned into this place?
Everyone else, how do you all react to everything that just happened (The odd transformation of the myrmidon, being summonded here, Effigy's presence, all the changes with the thrones)?
In addition, Soloth, as you arrive, you feel Ebondeath tugging at you, as if this teleportation has exterted some sort of force on him. Make a Constitution saving throw
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Koric stares at the transformation of the myrmidon in wonder, trying to understand exactly what's going on and when they arrive, he queries Balthar for anything he might have seen.
Upon arrival Koric looks around, quickly taking in his surrounds. In stunned relief he sags into the nearest chair. His face is passive and his gaze blank as he just concentrates on breathing.
When he is finally recovered (it takes a while), he looks at the changed conditions, wondering to whom the new thrones belong.
Both you and Balthar try your best to see through the fading of your vision to get a good look at the myrmidon, but even the owl's keen vision is not enough to get a good look at the elemental before you are whisked away to Sigil
The sudden change from swimming against a strong current to being deposited unceremoniously in Sigil disorients Liri and she lands in an enormous, sodden pile on the floor. Grunting, she pushes herself back to her feet, water streaming from her thick white fur to pool underneath her. She looks around herself in shock and confusion, her eyes flicking from throne to throne before finally landing on the rubble-strewn pile that was once Lathander's. Wary of this turn of events, she remains in her polar bear form for now, a low, uncertain growl rumbling from her throat.
As the rush of water ceases around her, Elandra briefly acknowledges the respite and improving situation before the flash of light causes her to exclaim "What in the..." before they vanish from the watery battleground
The moment of surprise as she acknowledges her new surroundings takes her aback. She quickly reaches up, and though her hair is still dripping and lank from her time underwater, she is grateful to feel that her plumed hat is back atop her head. "Thank you Tymora!"Taking in the soaking wet polar bear, she hazards the question "Err, Liri, is that you?" For the first time Elandra takes in her wider surroundings, recognizing the remaining thrones and quickly scanning the faces of her party members... Sudden realisation of the broken throne dawns, "Where... Where is Lux? What happened to Lathander's seat" There is a note of panic in the bard's voice as her mind races through possibilities and consequences. She hadn't been aware of much of the last encounter due to her own struggle for survival under the water, though the presence of so many of her companions reassures her they have not failed entirely, Lux's absence casts a cold shadow of doubt over her.
She is little changed in appearance from her last visit to this room, though her view on the task they have accepted has been heavily warped by their harrowing experiences so far. Her face has lost a little of her enthusiasm and gained the faintest of hard edges that grizzled adventurers and mercenaries are so known for the world over.

Your first arrow strike and deals a glancing blow, but the second one is unable to connect with the wierd's slippery form
Liri is up!
OOC: Going to leave this for 1 more day since it was the holidays and this is possibly a very important turn and then I will bot Liri

Horribly aware of just how close she is to the edge, Liri will disengage from the weird and move her full swim speed (30ft) back upstream again.
Strength saving throw: 11 + 5: 16

@Elandra
You are pushed back a bit softer than usual, but its still enough to rip you off of the rope and push you 10 feet down the river. Still your turn!
Losing her grip and the cord untying again, Elandra repeats her previous action, chasing after the flailing rope, tying the end around her waist again, this time using a slip knot so that only the knot coming undone will release her, and then using it to pull herself as close to shore as possible.
Athletics 13, Sleight of hand 19.

@Elandra
You are able to pull yourself up the river towards the rope, tying yourself in a bit more securely this time.
Koric is up!
Seeing the result from his last spell, Koric rushes nervously forward again and launches another volley of missiles at the same creature.
(( 8 points of force damage (in game log) ))
