“Very well, ” Ardyn said in draconic, deciding not to press the matter any further. Switching back to common as he spoke to Erskine "It seems these Kobolds fled here and they believe that this land offers them protection,”“As to who or what they are running from they didn’t say, also the Kobolds made it clear that they want us to leave them be.”
"Well, can't blame them for wanted to move south, 's a rough place up north" Erskine says with a smile and nod to the Kobolds. "Let's leave 'em be."
Erskine hesitates before reaching into his pouch and pulling out 10 gp, offering it out to the Kobolds. "A little coin can go a long way if you find your way into town," he offers with a grin, having fully forgotten that they have no idea what he's saying
Lord Orgosh pulls out his longbow and tries to take partial cover from nearby terrain (( trees or rocks, his AC is adjusted down to 19 without his shield )). "Let us be alert. It seems those small ones may have lured some hungry beast?"
Everyone You can all clearly hear the roar now. Moving in much closer than before.
Erskineand Ardyn I assume Ardynis translating for you. At Erskine'soffering, the kobolds look at coin with confusion then in draconic to Ardynsay, "What is this? Food? We need not your pity. Leave us be." At this point the unarmed kobold appears to hear the roar coming from the direction of your camp and in a panicked tone to the other kobolds, "A creator! Hide! Flee we must and quick!"
Lord Orgosh Peering towards the noise, you're eyes slowly adjust to a small bit of movement in the sky. Glaring at it for a moment, you can clearly make out the distant shape of a dragon heading straight towards your location. You can't quite tell yet if it is aware of your presence.
Lord Orgosh at first looks in disbelief, then in excitement. "My Gods! Look everyone, an actual Dragon! Isn't it majestic? Now I know some of you may wish to panic, but let us not be the first to attack, it may just be out enjoying the night air. That said, if it is out to fight, it will most certainly attempt to eat us all, which will be made infinitely easier if we panic. Only a coordinated, calm defense stands a chance! Spread out, take defensive cover and arm yourselves with ranged weapons, preferably magical if you have them." He looks to the Dwarves, "Would one of you be kind enough to alert the rest of our party of the Dragon while we make ready the defense?"
“We should get back to camp now!” Ardyn said urgently after noticing the unarmed kobold began to panic and tell the other Kobolds to flee. Then he started to make his way back to the expeditions camp as quickly as he could.
Lord Orgosh Brottor looks to you in what seems like panic setting in, "We..we're not fighters. That's what you're here for. We didn't actually think there'd be dragons. Oh saints.." Are you attempting to hide?
Gos From your vantage point, you can clearly see the dragon incoming. Hard to judge the distance, but it looks like it will overcome the expedition and your position within a minute.
(( Just a quick scene setup question: What is the terrain actually like? I'm picturing sparse high-altitude shrubs and trees amidst rocky soli and rock outcroppings. Are there any shallow defilades we can jump into, boulder clusters we can hide behind, or thickets of trees and scrub? If none of the above, then he won't bother hiding, Dragons have insanely good vision. Instead he'll run a decent distance from the Dwarves to hopefully distract the Dragon from seeing them as they try to hide. ))
(( If a place to hide then Stealth at Disadvantage = 13 or 5 --- If not, then athletics to move quickly away = 23 ))
Lord Orgosh looks to the Dwarves. "I shall not abandon you friends, nor allow harm to come to you if I am able. I will use my bow to draw it off if it comes too close to you. That said, there is no such thing as someone who doesn't fight, when a Dragon attacks. There are only those that survive, and those that don't. Grab rocks if you must, but prepare to defend yourselves. But... as I said, don't attack first, that would be rude."
Gos tries to scramble down close enough to the group so that they'll be able to hear. "Looks like we got about a minute! Get ready!" She then tries to find a place to hide while maintaining sightlines.
Lord Orgosh What you are picturing is correct. The outcropping your currently camping in offers some decent spots to hide. It's completely obscured to anything but a creature viewing you from the SE, which is unfortunately the direction from which the dragon is coming. But keeping an eye on the dragon, it seems not to have noticed you or the other dwarves as it flies right past you. Particularly because it seems to have spotted some other prey... For this type of stealth, you don't need to take disadvantage as it's more to hide than quietly move away. Your clanking armor doesn't matter at this distance.
Conductor With your pistol at the ready, you seem to have found a adequate hiding spot amongst the rocks where the kobolds were camping. Though you see the dragon making its way straight to your location with eyes fixated on Gos
Gos Attempting to climb off the rock to hide, you slip and fall down landing on your back. Rocks fall with you making a loud crashing sound around you. Getting back to your feet, you look up and see that the dragon has spotted you and is heading directly towards your location. The kobolds are in full sprint away, not attempting to hide. You have just a few seconds before the dragon will be within reach.
Ardynand Erskine At this moment, what are your actions?
Everyone We're in a semi combat state now. You can take combat actions, but we aren't in a full initiative order as the dragon will be moving in and out of range from all of you due to your distance apart from each other as well as the kobold party moving in the opposite direction.
Erskine and Ardyn The distance between from where the kobolds were and from your expedition camp is 300ft. This would require about a thirty second dead sprint with the dash action. But as you look ahead, you see that there really isn't much in the way of hiding between the kobolds and the expedition camp. The dragon would almost certainly spot in the open. Do you still wish to proceed in running back towards camp?

Is Ardyn translating this interaction for Erskine

Huge.
