“What be goin on now?”  Joe cracks an eye and shudders. “Loooovely.  Ruby can ye get rid enough web ta make us a safe passage?” Joe will prep an eldrich blast, just in case.

Once Lurn's light gets closer Cladmir and the rest can make out the webbing glimmering.

((How close is Cladmir getting to investigate it? From where they can spot it in the dim light it looks fresh and sticky, which is pretty much expected since it wasn't there a twenty minutes ago.))

Ruby indicates he can eat the webbing, but that would take a long while. He figures he can destroy it, but that would probably take some time too.

((So, are you going to clear the webbing or wait like Lurn suggested or something else?))

Joe will have Ruby scout the web, see how big it is and if there are drow on the other side.

(also Ruby is currently a she because female spiders are bigger)

"Yes, having Ruby check for Drow seems like the right move.  This seems like a perfect ambush.  Also, can she check if there are any spiders on the web any more?   It would be easy enough to burn down the web, but we don't want to kill a single spider, and start a fight with them, if we can help it."

(( Cladmir's goal was not to investigate the web so much as to find any hint or trails or clues as to where the ones that made it are hiding, so instead of moving close to the web he would focus more on looking at the walls and ceiling to make sure nothing is hiding in a hole/crevasse that may have been missed. ))

"I agree that we should not start a fight with the spiders -- at least not yet.  While we may be able to handle them it is not good to start a fight when the drows could attack us in the back."

Ruby skitters ahead and reports that the webbing is, oddly enough, a 10' cube. She doesn't feel any other spiders on the web.

Poking herself through easily enough she looks around and sees a single giant spider on the ceiling 10' to the south of the exit from tunnel the party is in. The giant spider doesn't react to Ruby.

Cladmir notes that, from what he can see, there doesn't look to be anywhere big enough for a giant spider or drow to hide. There are a lot of shadows, but he is confident he'd notice something. If there was something to notice.

(Are there non spiders on or in the web?)

Joe reports her findings, “Ah can get tha spider by looking through Ruby’s eyes. It be disorintatin, but Ah can do it.”

"Would that achieve anything for us?  Aggravating the spiders seems a bad idea if we can avoid it."

”What do ye suggest the ?!  Ah rather get out befor tha other spiders come back o worse bring friend!  Ah maybe able ta make a distract’n instead n hopes we can get by tha way, but Ah donnae have hem hopes up.”

((She feels nothing on nor in the webbing.))

Joe will send Ruby out further to see if there is anyone around.

((Which direction and how far? There is north and south in the corridor.  To the south another corridor goes west.))

"We'll have to burn our way through the web then....let's hope that doesn't make every spider attack us."

((Okay,  Ruby is IN the library.  I'm going to guess you mean towards the stairs up and down..))

Ruby skitters past the giant spider which pays it no mind. The stairs up and down are clear at a glance but as she reaches them a trio of drow stand looking towards the tunnel where the party currently hides.

One of the drow notices Ruby and says something to the others. One of them says something Ruby doesn't understand. It seems like it is directed at her.

The drow stand and seem to be watching her now.

“Thar be three drow.  It be an ambush.  Can we get outta here NOW?!” 

Ruby shakes her head and motions the drow to follow her.  She will go down a different coridor, preferably around the corner and away from us, but still within 100’ of Joe.

"Hrmm, I suppose we need to get through here, and we can take advantage of the drow being split up to ambush at different locations."

((I am picturing a spider in my head and I don't see a neck that would allow for head shaking so I am going to go with...))

Ruby skitters back and forth in an effort to get the drow to move with her. She looks around sees some doors, closed, and then back. The only corner to take them around that she can see/has seen would be back by the tunnel the party is waiting in. She knows (because Joe knows) that there is another corridor past the drow but that would take her out of range of Joe.

Ruby has the drow's attention now and one moves a few feet closer and crouches to look more closely at Ruby.

There is a corridor between Joe and Ruby right ?  Ruby will go towards Joe then around the first corner she comes across, trying to get one of the drow to follow her.
