Kroshav gets a worrying response,

<Hi! Those things I said I thought were here sound like they are digging in the snow to get in. It's not cold but Charlie is hungry. Once whatever comes in goes by we're going back out to find food, but it was a lot of snow... hurry back and stay safe!>

The Librarian stares expectantly all the next morning. She looks like she is ready for you to move along again and supplies some information,

"Both stairs up have been webbed within my vision. I have seen no drow, only a few spiders."

"We need to get to the horses soon. Cap'n, you burning web, or we trying to sneak it?"

(About how many of those can i put in my spell book?

"Let's try to make this the last outing, then.  Once we've guaranteed a full collapse and we have the librarian's help we'll be able to clear our way to the horses quick enough."

((@Dead, is she wanting to sleep? Otherwise 2 hours per level and 50gp, a level 4 would be pushing at the limit for a long rest. Any combination up to that is okay, given you got the 'spell ink' value for it. I don't remember how much ink you have?))

Cladmir woke up feeling much more refreshed and with great appreciation for the new companions who allowed him the break and did not leave him behind.  While bonds of trusts is something that normally takes time to form, everyone's action had won Cladmir's respect and he resolved to stick it out with the group no matter where it leads.

He was still confused about all this reference to "horses" however, but decided that wait-and-see is as good a course of action as any and stopped worrying about it and started double-checking all his gears.

The Librarian nods approvingly to Lurn.

"Which exit? The one you used last time or the other?"

"I suppose the drow will have roughly equal guard on both paths, so I've no opinion on where we head up."

"Which is closer to the tunnel we need to check?"

"I think we should go burn the webs on both stairs, but do that before we are really heading up there.    At least then they won't know which way we are going.   Joe, are you able to cast fire without depleting your magic badly?    Or we could do it without magic if needed."  Jaq doesn't really have a way to do fire himself, so if the others don't like this idea, he quickly lets it drop.

"Would you let one of your golems toss a torch into the side we don't go up?"

There is little difference as to the sides from this floor for distance.  They are located on the east and west sides of the floor above. From that floor you'd need to make you way to the stairs heading up to the fourth floor, with the north stairs being very near the tunnel.))

The Librarian considers Kroshav's question a moment before giving a shake of her head.

"No. The torch would need to pass through the books and poses an unacceptable risk. One of your number can light a torch in the mud room however. At that point I could cast in the torch."

"Oh, yes! I wouldn't want to ask you to risk your books. Maybe light that one and toss it first, to draw some of them towards it, then we go on the second?"

The Librarian nods.
