Tests and Trials Game Thread

Lurn pushes himself to his feet with a grunt and starts pulling back to the corner where Jaq is, "I'm going to be no help for the rest of the fight, but hopefully I helped soften up the drider enough."

"You did well." Jaq whispers back softly in common.

Kroshav disappears into the fog, guided by Sword, and Cladmir follows, guided by chance.

Lurn (presumably) scoops up Mikram as he stumbles back towards Jaq and Joe, both who keep a wary eye on the edge of the fog cloud.

Inside the cloud, Kroshav is left disoriented and the light from Sword is muted to nothing unless he holds the blade to his face. The magical sword sends,

<Incoming!>

A moment before something large and hard bumps into him. There is a momentary pause before the drider reacts against what can only be a foe.

Attack 1: 11 Damage: 4

Attack 2: 10 Damage: 10

Bite attack: Attack 1: 22 Damage: 3+7

None of the drider's attacks manage to find the dragonborn in the fog, in part due to Sword's warnings of <Duck! Left!>

Kroshav draws Sword, and let's her and his gods guide his hands.

Sword Attack: 33 Damage: 16 slashing, and 4 radiant from divine smite.

Sword Attack: 30 Damage: 14 slashing, and 6 radiant from divine smite.

Based on the spray of ichor and Sword's manic laughing Kroshav is pretty sure he landed both hits. Sword does confirm that the drider is still standing though and encourages Kroshav to,

Kroshav slides around a bit to the side, so that he's no longer standing in the same spot the blows came from.

((He explains to Sword about action economy, turns and rounds. ;p ))

All Cladmir can see in the fog is some diffused light and sounds of combat.  He's going to therefore assume is "low center of gravity" position and creep toward the sound of fighting. He knows that he is not in danger of being attacked by the Kroshav, so he will instead rely on striking back and whatever strikes at him.

He will also try and see if he can make any sense of where the enemy may be in this fog.  Perception:  5

Cladmir is pretty sure Kroshav is somewhere ahead of him? Kroshav is definitely fighting someone pretty close by and probably ahead?

He thinks he could probably take a swing but isn't sure what his chances of getting drider versus dragonborn are right now.

"They went into the fog to fight?!?!" Jaq comments with surprise.  Then he states loudly,    " Cladmir, yell my name if you need us to drop the spell and come aid your group."

((Lurn absolutely grabs Mikram, I think I had initial post saying as much.))  "I suppose now we just trust in our physically inclined companions."

((Doubted that Lurn would leave him either way!))

The three backliners stand and watch the roiling fog where Cladmir and Kroshav disappeared, unsure of what they should do.

Cladmir heard Jaq yelled but have no real idea who or where the enemy is and did not want to give away his position in the fog.  Realizing now a bit belatedly that perhaps by advancing into the fog he was also *hoping* for some safety in being hidden rather than any heroics, he decided that he would simply stay quiet until an opportunity presents itself.

Aye...  How far back from the fog is the corner where Jaq and Lurn are?  Lurn may focus his attention on the other direction just in case.

((From the edge of the fog cloud to where Lurn is currently standing is 35' and Jaq is 40' away. Joe is 55' from the edge.

Or, do you mean to the corridor south? That is 65' away from where Lurn is standing now, or 100' from the edge of the fog cloud. There is a door open to the south right in front of Lurn that Lurn knows leads to some inner rooms.))

((For some reason I was thinking Toll had a 30' range, but it's all good at 60, so yeah, held attack Toll since I've got no concentration up.  As for the other corridor, for some reason I thought we'd passed another intersection in the pursuit, must be mistaken.))

Joe hunkers down, ready to bolt while Jaq and Lurn focus on the fog cloud.

Within the fog cloud the drider hisses something that neither Kroshav nor Cladmir understand.
