The party head into the cave and keep quiet and low. They give the wolves a wide berth and crouch low near the corner leading to the bridge. Those with dark vision guide the human and halfling through the pitch black. Once they are all in place Griell, Melandra and Vishka surge forward and attack the goblin on the bridge.
The goblin drops from the bridge and falls into the water, an axe and a dagger protruding from its lifeless body. Melandra casts mage hand and guides the body to the rocks so that Vishka and Griell can retrieve their weapons.

The party gathers round as Melandra instructs her bat to fly ahead to see what awaits them at the end of the tunnel. This cavern opens up into a wider area that is half filled with two large pools of water. A narrow waterfall high in the eastern wall feeds the pool, which drains out the western end of the chamber to form the stream that flows out of the cave mouth below. Low fieldstone walls serve as dams holding the water in. A wide exit stands to the south, while another smaller passages lead west she presumes to the bridge above them now. The sound of the waterfall echoes through the cavern, making it difficult to hear.

The bat returns to Melandra and fastens itself to her robes. The elf shares what she has seen with the others, adding that the room is in fact occupied by three goblins, armed and ready.

One of the goblins shrieks out a warning and dashes into the southern cavern. The other two fire arrows; one at Griell Attack: 20 Damage: 7 and the other at Vishka Attack: 7 Damage: 5
Vishka moves back around the corner as she deals with the arrow sticking out of her torso. She casts cure wounds upon herself and tries to calm her nerves.

Melandra sends her bat into the next cavern following the goblin. Sacks and crates of looted provisions are piled up in the south end of this large cave. To the west, the floor slopes toward a narrow opening that descends into darkness. In the middle of the cavern, the coals of a large fire smoulder.

Vishka follows the direction of Kara and races toward a bulky shadow to the left of the entrance.
"Moradins balls!"she exclaims as a huge Bugbear emerges to meet her charge. She attacks Attack: 18 Damage: 6 striking the bugbear hard in its side. It roars in pain.
