Stun notices a strange smoky smell of something burning besides the hearth in the Tavern. As he looks down, he see's a small flame at the bottom of Eskee's pants and it seems he doesn't notice.
Stun takes a sip of his tea and pretends to sneeze in the direction of the small flame, indirectly putting out the flame.
Ooc: I can deal with the more well known swears, if you want, but I’m still on the younger side. I can elaborate if you want.
Asshrak looks up from his drink. “Bruce, if I am going to be completely honest with you, I have no idea where I came from. The quest to find the ring has consumed the better part of my life, leading me across many different continents, and worlds. Ive seen the dragon lands you speak of. I’ve seen planes of machines, burning pits of fire in hell. I’ve wandered forests, slain wyverns, and all manner of beast. Though, I refrain from killing my own breed, or dragons of pure blood. I came from somewhere across a great ocean, but other than that, I know not much about my past. You see, the ring has a magical power to make the hunters slowly lose themselves during the hunt, the reason that none have returned from looking for it. It begins with family life, then the home, sometimes even world. The ring becomes all consuming, driving many hunters to madness, before they even glimpse the ring. Then, right when it’s in their reach, they forget everything, wiped blank. I’m still in the early stages of forgetting, and getting drunk slows the process, which is why I drink so much. Though, where I come from alcohol intolerance must be high, because I just can’t seem to get fully drunk!” He slams his glass down, and asks Bruce to fill it again.
"Maverick, my friend," Bruce replies, "we have roast renen (horsemeat), fried roden (like a cross between a rabbit and a squirrel), baked chicken, and a delicacy from Suffolk called turkey. It's like a big chicken only tastier, I'm told."
Bruce serves another round of drinks. "Tell me more about this magical ring, Asshrak. Why would you go hunting for it if you forget everything while pursuing it?"
Stun sneezes and says, “Excuse me… that came out of no where.”
Eskee replies, “may the gods bless you my friend.” Oblivious to anything else that occurred.
Eskee thanks Bruce for the new round he delivers and says, “Yesss, we must hear more about this ring.” “I to do not understand why you would want sssomething that would make you forget all you know.”
"I think one of them would be enough to feed the whole lot of you," Bruce replies with a laugh, "and all we've got. I'll go to the kitchen and see if it is ready. A special feast for a special party of travelers headed out on their first adventure together." Although the candles on the tables and the light from the campfire hearth seem to be getting brighter, the room seems a tad bit darker as Bruce exits.
Basal, you see something moving in the shadows but cannot quite make it out. Could it be a giant spider? Maverick, you also see something out of the corner of your eye. Stun, you feel as if someone or something is watching you, but you see nothing when you look around. Asshrak, you also feel uneasy. Eskee, you are the only one unaffected.
The shadows seem to flee, and all is right again as Bruce approaches the table with a large platter. On it sits a large, whole roast beast on its back and headless. Two appendages are folded to the sides looking like small arms ending in a single finger. What may have been the two lower appendages stick up in the air at an angle. No claws, fur, or feathers can be seen on the brown, dimpled skin. Around the roast beast is a scattering of various white, red, orange, and purple tubers and green, leafy stems swimming in a light brown gravy. The delicious smells make mouths water and stomachs grumble. "A feast fit for a king," Bruce announces as he sets the platter on the table. "From a recipe from the greatest culinary school in Mina’ Al’ukul. Eat up, my new friends. Only one gold each to pay for the preparation." Bruce stands back and smiles with arms akimbo.
"Excuse me," Bruce says as a shadow pops up in the dim doorway. "It seems we have more guests arriving. Come in, my friends," he says wiht a wave. "What'll it be tonight? Ale from Dorvinla? Cider from Four Corners? I would offer you some turkey, but our new heroes have just taken the last one. We still have plenty of chicken and roden left . . . ." Bruce continues welcoming people into the tavern as you eat and drink and converse.
As the food comes out, due to Maverick seeing something out of the corner of his eyes he subtly uses Purify Food and Drink over the feast that was just delivered
Eskee , being familiar with arcana, sees Maverick move his hands and hears the words and knows he’s casting a spell. “everything ok?” He quietly asked Maverick.
Maverick completes his spell and then looks at Eskee and says
” I saw something moving in the shadows and a change in the lights when Bruce left the room to get the food, then a whole group of strangers to us walk in as we get the food. I get this feeling that we are being watched, I don’t want to risk anything so I purified the feast and drinks we are about to eat and drink. I have a question, I want Basil and Asshrak to eat first. Can you look with me to see if anyone has an odd reaction to them eating and nothing happening?”
Does Maverick notice if the purification of the food cleanse the food of anything casted over it.
Asshrak takes a break from devouring the meat, to turn to Bruce and answer his questions about the ring.
”Why would people risk losing themselves?! Who knows! All I know about the ring, is that the holder has the power to enforce his or her wishes on others, and becomes a god in the eyes of all rogues. The latter is the one I’m more interested in. Being a king? That’s all I’ve wanted since I saw my first procession in my hometown. I don’t know where it was, of who was king, but I remember the way everyone bowed, respected them. I want that. I feel that’s something I haven’t had my whole life. Bending others will would be nice,” he turns to the group, “but only of those who deserve it, not friends.”
He falls silent, and tears another chunk of meat off the animal.
Nothing unusual occurs while Basal and Asshrak eat. People mill about ordering drinks and food and engaging in conversation. It looks like a regular crowd coming in to partake of Bruce's hospitality.
Bruce raises an eyebrow at Asshrak's explanation of his quest. "Interesting," he comments before moving on to help other customers.
Maverick and Eskee, give us perception checks.

Stun ask Bruce with Excitement: "CAN I HAVE THE BONE?!?!?!?"
Bruce serves another round of drinks. "Tell me more about this magical ring, Asshrak. Why would you go hunting for it if you forget everything while pursuing it?"
"Yes, Sir Stun," Bruce laughs. "You may have whatever bones Maverick gives you."
“Bruce I am intrigued by the delicacy from Suffolk. How much for 4 of them?”

Eskee replies to Maverick, “Strange, I didn’t notice anything. Of course I’ll help you keep an eye out for suspicious reactions or activity.”
Maverick and Eskee watch for peoples reaction as Basil and Asshrak eat
Stun highly anticipating the bone....
"Please Basal, let me have the bones when you're done with you're meat....."
