Maverick begins walking back to the group. “Let’s decide what’s going on and get on the road soon, we need to get away from here and find a safe place to rest so we can regain our energy. We’re not much good to anyone if we can’t function to our best. I am ready whenever you guys are.”

“Let’s decide what’s going on and get on the road soon, we need to get away from here and find a safe place to rest so we can regain our energy. We’re not much good to anyone if we can’t function to our best. I am ready whenever you guys are.” Maverick
”We should have a meeting with this console, the more information we have about these woods the better. I suggested to the father of this woods to let us escort the family to the village where the console is so that can be safe in numbers. I’ll go speak to him again to see if he agrees.” Stun says to Maverick.
He then turns to Eskee, “thanks for you insight Eskee, it was very wise. This will ultimately be their choice on which direction they want to go. Escorting them back to the city should be out of the question until the goblin threat has been eliminated. It will take to long to bring them there and back and in that time, the goblins will be aware of the threat we bring and prepare. Escorting them to the village with their neighbors will provided them security at a shorter distance and can prepare to rebuild their home.”
Stun then speaks to the both of them, “any other suggestions before I ask the father of this family?”
While the rest of the party is considering your next move, Asshrak comes stumbling out of the woods. The father halfling picks his stick back up and points it in Asshrak's direction. "Stop where you are," he says. "Who are you? Are you with these heroes?"
Maverick, the manner in which the father halfling holds the stick seems familiar and you notice in his other hand is a shamrock, a sprig of mistletoe, and a handful of oak bark.
Eskee replies to Stun, “I don’t have anything else. I agree we need to get moving.”
Eskee hears the halfling father and looks to see Asshrak stumbling out of the woods.
“Yeah, he’s with usss.” Eskee says the the halfling. “Can I borrow that?” Eskee asks motioning to the stick.
Eskee takes the stick, walks over the Asshark, and whacks him with it. (Not hard enough to really hurt him, but hard enough that he feels it) “Where the hellsss have you been?!? We’re out here fighting a dozen goblinsss and your hiding the woodsss?!?”
“Nope go for it brother. Just remember they have kids so our time will be slowed. I’m ready for whatever, I just know we all probably need a long rest. “
Stun nods as Eskee and Maverick talk to Asshrak about his whereabouts during the fight...
He then goes to the father, "Apologies about my companions, believe me, he will be heavily scolded. But back to the matter at hand, this is ultimately your decision on what to do next, kind sir. We would be happy to escort your family to the village where the console is, but if you chose not to, ill pry that the gods you pray to will bless you on your journey. One thing is for certain, we all cannot stay here, for now at least."
"Aye," the father says. "You are right; we cannot stay here. We will take you to the village where we can set up a meeting with the town council. Gather yourselves, my family. We are going to town."
At this, the children stop their playing and return to their father. The littlest one inquires, "But, Daddy, what about Dolly?"
"The father reaches down and picks up the child. "I'm afraid your dolly is gone, Sweetheart. Those mean old goblins burnt her up."
"I hate goblins, Daddy," the child says with a tear in her eye.
"Me, too, Sweetheart. Me, too," the father consoles his child. "C'mon then, let's get a move on. We need to go now if we are to get to town before nightfall."
OCC: I would like to say this response is character based and not to take it personally.
As everyone begins to walk off Maverick stops Asshrak to have a private chat. “ This is going to be a one way conversation and Im going to be blunt with you. I don’t care where you went or what you did; however, if trouble follows us or if you pull another stunt like this ever again before combat, then the first chance I get I will kill you myself. You already broke whatever trust I had in you, you can try to earn it back, which is not going to be easy, or you can just keep walking. Right now, if I were you, I would keep my distance, at least from me, I can’t speak for Eskee or Stun. But as far as I am concerned until you can earn my trust back. Asshrak, who the F*CK, is that?” Maverick leans in closer and whispers I’m not Bull shitting screw us over again and I, Will, kill you my damn self. (Maverick locks eyes with Asshrak) for now, stay the F*CK out of my way.” Before Asshrak has a chance to open his mouth to say a word Maverick turns his back towards Asshrak, pauses so Asshrak gets the point of Maverick turning his back towards him, and simply just walks away and doesn’t even look back at Asshrak.
OOC: They just got done fighting, they haven’t rested, they are about to start hiking again, their wounded, and now Asshrak just showed up out of nowhere, Maverick is just cranky, I’m sure after a long rest, healing, and time to cool off and think about the way he reacted Maverick will apologize.
As the crew gets deeper into their walk Maverick walks up next to Asshrak
“Listen there are times in a family when siblings fight. Don’t take what I said personally, I’m tired, wounded and cranky. Sorry, I didn’t mean what I said. I was more hurt because I felt as though I just ditched us. Hopefully we’re still good and it’s none of my business where you went or what you did. Just know, if you need help I still got your back.”
Maverick doesn’t say anything else, just keeps walking by Asshrak
As they are looking at Maverick he uses wild shape and turns into a squirrel and runs to the top of the trees and for the next hour stays far enough ahead of the group to scout as they walk
As Maverick scouts ahead among the treetops, he sees a family of giant badgers coming out of a den in a hillside.
Also, he notices a beautiful, delicate-looking, white horse-like creature with a single horn protruding from its forehead spotlighted in a ray of sunshine that barely penetrates the tree cover. In the shadows close to the creature lurks a green-skinned, hunchbacked, almost human looking beast with a vestigial tail at the end of its spine and long claws protruding from its fingers. It wields a broken, moss-covered tree limb like a club in one hand while the other rests on the trunk of a tree. The troll stares at the unicorn as if mesmerized by its beauty.
Off in the distance, Maverick also sees several little houses. Some of the homes seem to be almost a part of the hilly landscape.
Maverick goes back and relayed what he saw and recommends a path avoiding the troll. He explains he is out of spells and we have a child with us so combat of any type should be avoided in his opinion.

He waits for a response…

Okay, Maverick. That's a bit harsh.

OOC: Honestly just waiting for Asshrak to post before we move forward...
I don't know if Asshrak is going to the village with you guys or not. Ahrjan said he would post four days ago.
OOC: Well ive waited, so i just gonna assume he is with us but he is being extremely quiet...
Stun replys to the father, "Then we move now! Maverick, can you scout ahead to see if the path to the town is clear?"
"Everyone else, gather up what strength you have left! We rest when this Family is safe in the town!"
Stun is ready to travel.
As they are looking at Maverick he uses wild shape and turns into a squirrel and runs to the top of the trees and for the next hour stays far enough ahead of the group to scout as they walk
