The ghostly women drifts closer to the party members and sits down. "I need your help retrieving my body from in there"She points down the hallway. I am barred from that room and need help from someone living.
Kha glances to his shivering companion and grunts. "Where does this take us?"The orc relaxes his posture slightly, bringing his hammer to a rest on his shoulder. "And I suppose more important, what caused you to lose your body?"
Her clothes drift as if swept up in a wave. "Pardon my manners. My name is Elowyn of House Margrave. That hallway leads to my father's Sanctum. He could not let me go, even though my time was up. You see I was very ill for a long time. I made my peace with death, but I will not continue to linger in this form" The fire flickers wildly in wake of her anger. "He built this place to preserve my body. No more I say. It must end"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Eline holds desperately to Trem all the while, trying her damnedest to keep him as warm as she could. She would not lose another! Not him, and NOT like this! In her musing, she thinks upon the plight of their ghostly visitor. This was beyond her experience, as she had only ever tasted the bite of loss. This poor woman, however, had experienced such loss, but at the expense of her own self.
"Elowyn of House Margrave, I am Eline of House Rygr! My compatriots and I will do what we can to aid you, but we also seek help ourselves!" She watches for a moment as the fire flickers and dances.
"See! Here are two of our lot, beset with a dreadful illness that freezes the bodily faculties, and slowly kills! Where we come from, it is known as the Frigid Woe! Have you any knowledge or clue about this thing?"
Elowyn calms a bit and says "I feel your plight, but I have never heard of such a sickness. Please help. I cannot bear to linger this way for years to come unending"
Trem will ask Eline to hold the "torch" so his fingers don't tremble and he can see the lock clearly by it's light (asking for help action to get advantage).

Trem looks over his shoulder, does she look sincere?

((Yeah, now Trem rolls ok...))

(Yes. You can tell she is sincere)

12 Persuasion.
Elowyn calms a bit and says "I feel your plight, but I have never heard of such a sickness. Please help. I cannot bear to linger this way for years to come unending"
"And it shall not be so, Lady Elowyn! We will aid you in your plight, and free you."
Lady Elowyn stands an gives a sincere bow "Thank you for doing this"
Once the party is ready to proceed down the dark hallway they will find ornately carved stone double door.
Trem takes a piece of burning wood with him from the fire (like a torch). He checks the door for traps: Investigation check 13 (rolled in game log)
Player: Any Good Alignment // DM: Lawful Evil
Trem sees subtle runes on the door that faintly glowed a faint blue when he approached.
You can roll Arcana check or ask for someone else to roll Arcana check. DC 15
Teeth chattering, Trem asks Reginald to have a look at the runes.
Player: Any Good Alignment // DM: Lawful Evil
Reginald studies the Runes (Arcana +6 : 15) (Passive is 16)
Cats go Moo!
The passive is for investigation and with that you also see the faint runes.
With a 10 you cannot seem to decipher the meaning behind the runes.
Anyone can try rolling Arcana check to see if they can decipher the runes purpose.
Trem's Arcana check: 16 (rolled in game log, heh what's that about 🤭)
Player: Any Good Alignment // DM: Lawful Evil
1 rune is abjuration to keep ghosts out of the sanctum
2nd rune is also abjuration arcane lock
A passphrase can unlock the door or you can try to pick the lock, but due to the spell the DC is higher.
Lock DC is 20 for picking the lock.
Other party members can give Trem the help action to pick the lock if you decide to try it.
(Kha will cast guidance on Trem if he's attempting to pick the lock.)
Trem will ask Eline to hold the "torch" so his fingers don't tremble and he can see the lock clearly by it's light (asking for help action to get advantage).
Player: Any Good Alignment // DM: Lawful Evil
(Is anyone willing to help Trem with the Help Action?)
