It started in the blink of an eye. Violence had that tendency. The thief(Skirmisher 2) had been quick with his overhead chop, catching the barbarian flat footed and biting into his left shoulder. A feral snarl immediately ripped it’s way from the giant’s throat, sounding more akin to a beast than man, and he responded with his own two-handed diagonal slash.
Great sword Attack: 24 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
A stream of blood came from the fresh cut on Vauthok’s shoulder but it smoldering glare gave no sign that he even noticed it. “That tickled.”
((Reaction: Stone’s Endurance - As a reaction, reduce damage dealt to you by 1d12 +2 once per short rest.))
Oof! These guys are slippery. Trem was sure that Vauthok would cut his opponent in 2. Better go help him! Trem draws his rapier and stabs the Elf that's in melee with Vauthok.
Reginald hurls his last Chromatic Orb at uninjured crossbowman 3, in hopes of whittling down their ranged support. (+6 to hit, 3d8 acid : Attack: 25 Damage: 17)
(OOC : Nice, two good hits at the start of the encounter... probably will be missing every time after this, down to cantrips and ritual spells until I get a short rest. :)
Roxaria quickly assesses the situation and notes that Vauthok is closest to the skirmisher. She drops her shield and longsword and unfastens her longbow, knocking an arrow and letting it fly towards the elf in the back (crossbowman 4)
Kha's hammer impacts the side of the elf's head and they fall to the floor with a heavy thud. The orc turns to the last of the would-be thieves. "You two ready to give up yet?! You don't have to end up like the rest of your your gang here!" He kicks at the dead body at his feet with the side of his foot. "No harm in admitting when your beat."
Vauthok glared at the thief that had somehow avoided Roxaria’s attack. That probably didn’t happen very often. Luck had to run out at some point so he moved in immediately. Bringing death along with him. “Take a deep breath and enjoy it..” he tilted the blade toward the ground and rushed forward. “It will be your last!” Lifting the great sword into a upward arc with the intention of cutting the bastard(crossbowmen 4) clean in two.
Blood spills from skirmisher 1, causing him to stumble and fall dead.
