The party moves down the tunnel and comes to a locked gate. Jario you quickly unlock and relock it once on the other side.
The party battered, brused and looking worse from wear fits in your new surroundings. The street you come out on is run down the building in the area are not much better then shacks or ruins. This area has never seen good times but Jario it seems even worse then when you left just a few short weeks ago.
The whole area just has a sick feel about it as you see large painted Xs on doors in the are that are boarded up. The few people you see do not look well there is a general depression in the air.
**Welcome to night town. Places of note.**
Work house: Front for Jario's thrives guild.
The Nightingale: tavern and front to a rival guild.
Gaia's house: Missionary Church for the area trys to help the poor and sick.
Market: open air "black" market
There are random houses, shacks and old run down ruins in the area as well where the journal you are looking for could be.
The group has advantage on all stealth checks as long as Jario is in the area since you know this part of town so well.
Jairo looks about with a morose look on her face. She had grown up here. It had never been beautiful but it was still home. With a sigh she looks to her companions.
"Well that was closer than I imagined. But I'm not sure we're much better off now. This place has a feeling of despair over it which can lead to people making desperate and foolish decisions. Guard your belongings and try to move unnoticed."
She pauses biting her lip as she thinks. "First things first, we need a place to rest. Choices are: hole up in a shack, make contact with some... Business acquaintances of mine or we can try the missionary church." She pauses allowing the other two a moment to consider their options"the first whilst low key could lead us to trouble if we hole up in the wrong gang's place. The second... I'd prefer to go looking strong rather than dragged through the meat grinder - they respect strength and competency and are distrustful of outsiders so in our current state I couldn't guarantee a warm welcome" silently to herself she adds "or one at all...".
"The third option I believe is the best, folks around here aren't driven by religious fever but most acknowledge that the missionary does try to help. My vote is to head there. I'll also add that there is an... Alternative gang who operate on this area. It would be good to avoid them if possible."
Prisca looks at the X's mournfully "The plague has taken its toll here. These poor people. I agree lets try the church. The other options seem riskier" He rechecks his clothing. Best not to be near some of the more sickly looking people.
As you stand there discussing your next steps, with your passive, you notice a number of eyes starts to appear in the shadow.
Jario fearing if you hang around much longer you will become a mark in your current condition. You lead the party towards the mission.
Everyone please roll a stealth check with advantage. How these work it will determine if you encounter Trouble as you move around night town. The party average will be what I use natty 20 and nat 1 count twice.
With a 23 he is way too eager to get you to go down this real dark ally. You get the feeling he is just going to lead you to a trap and rob you or worse.
Arriving at the mission. You see bodies being burned in the small grave yard. The are 10-15 people milling about. All seem either sick or starving. As you start to move into the mission you see a number of brothers and sisters of GAIA tending the sick. There is a young man no older then 20 who appears to be in charge standing at the end of the congregation hall.
I'm working a 12 tomorrow ill start the next chapter this weekend. Have a good Friday yall.

Jario as you guide the party towards the mission. A man in tattered monk robes approaches you all.

The monk attempts to grab you to follow him
Jairo attempts to whip her arm out of reach of the monk.

Jairo responds quickly "Thank you for the offer brother, I know the way, but feel free to walk with us if a little ahead - the plague you see."
Surprised at how Dexterous you the monk falls back. You see him glance towards the shadow and a dagger on his hip.
Sorry you started me. The mission is full and out of medicine, come with me we can help you.
The monk will stand up and reach a hand out.
Prisca looks warily at the monk "Please keep you hands to yourselves. We can follow along from a distance"
The monk will walk towards the alleyway.
My temple is this way.

"Hold on a moment" He huddles with his companions and whispers "I think he plans to harm us. Lets find a way to get away from the monk"
Realizing he is caught the "monk" will run off. The party continues on to the Mission without any more issues.
DM: going to pause here till after the weekend. Have a good weekend yall.
"Good call Prisca, come on it's this way" Jairo leads them off, but places one hand close to her dagger, just in case.
