Dragon 20
The party make their way to the Lords Hall in the late afternoon.
"Welcome back, I have work for you."
"We have received word of Orcs moving through the foothills east of here. A tenday ago, a small band of them attacked the Butterskull Ranch, freeing the pigs of all things before setting fire to the barn and the smithy. Big Al the owner and five of his ranch hands were not so lucky. In their attempt to fend off the orcs, Big Al was captured and the ranch hands were killed. The only surviving hand escaped on horseback, fled to Phandalin, and delivered news of the attack but an hour before you arrived. Please travel there with all haste and offer what aid you can."
The party travel with all haste. They walk through the night and the next day before finally taking a rest just west of Conyberry. They make camp on the side of the road utterly exhausted.
The abandoned town of Conyberry is eerily silent except for the whistling of the wind as it blows through the settlement’s burned and crumbled-down structures. As the characters make their way through or around the ruins, they spot three unsaddled riding horses grazing near an old well.
