"Talk to that thing? Have you gone cuckoo?"

 "Just follow my lead and be polite."

Thomas walks forward toward the raging creature.

 Feldoran drops low and attempts to creep round to the creatures flank.

Stealth 8

 Anders hangs back and begins to ritual cast Unseen Servant.

 Floating on her disk next to Anders, Toot casts mage armour on herself.

"I don't like this Anders."

 "Stick next to me and you'll be fine."

 Elandra walks next to Thomas with her hands resting lightly on her pommels.

The creature has noticed them coming and ceases its raging. It turns to face them with a low growl.

 "Greetings friend, you seem to be in distress. Might we be of service?"

 "I am not your friend meat stick. You had best run away."

A frying pan sails through the windmill window and smacks the Manticore on the side of the head.

 "There's more where that came from you mangy freak."

 "What is it you want with the good woman?"

 "I want food... I want meat."

 "Well I aint for eating scumbag."

Adabra waves her rolling pin out of the window toward the enrages Manticore.

 "This would be very unwise. You are but a few hours from a large town."

Thomas points off toward Phandalin. "If you harm this woman there will be hunting parties looking for you within the day."

Persuasion 7

 The manticore looks away for a moment as if considering.

It spots Feldoran and snarls, "Distract me while the stinking dwarf sneaks up behind. Ha! I am no fool." It appears on the verge of attack.

 "Oh crap." Anders sees the situation worsening and starts to stride forward.

He hands his lute to his unseen servant and commands it to play as he walks. 

"Ho! Mighty manticore you can not blame us for showing caution when dealing with a creature as magnificent and as deadly as yourself!" he looks over to Fendoran and motions for him to stand and be seen.

 "Idiot." the dwarf growls beneath his breath.

He stands and raises his hands to show them free of weapons.

 "See we are all friends here. Now tell us how we can help and enable you to leave this good dwarven lady alone."

 As Anders draws level with Thomas the older man places a hand on his shoulder.

"I hope you know what you are doing kid."

He casts Guidance on the bard.

 "Me too." Anders replies in a whisper.

The unseen servant continues to play the lute as Anders steps forward, the music giving him confidence and the spectacle distracting the Manticore somewhat. At this distance Anders can see that the creature is wounded and emaciated. He suspects it is starving.

"Perhaps we could find you some meat?"

Persuasion 14 plus 4
