Nexus offers Dermot a warm smile upon seeing him return from his trip through the maze, her hands coming together in a congratulatory clap! "See, what did we say? You should have a little more faith in yourself, silly."
After that, Nexus waited with a small smile playing on her lips for the rest of the group to return from their attempts in the maze. Seeing, one by one, as it appeared that more and more came through as winners. Their collection of medals this day really growing to quite the sum!
Aldith squawks indignantly as Sharpwatch lifts her bodily from the maze and sets her down outside of it. After that embarrassing scene, she isn't keen to try it again so she simply waits for the others to finish. She smiles as her new companions come out with medals around their necks.
"Great job, Dermot," she says to the goblin. "I think we've tried almost everything, haven't we?" she asks the rest of her party.
"Rice." Mornin interjects. "...Heard something about a rice race. Never done it before, but I've also never ridden a tortoise before today. So it could be fun."

You can't drown someone with Create Water. If your lungs are containers than your bones are objects. Any Siege monster that attacks you deals double damage because it’s attacking your bones.
Kalhala is thrilled to get through the maze and joins his party, "Well, that makes three for me! Man, we sure are wracking them up!" He sees Dermot makes it through and he claps the goblin a little too hard on the back, "That a way Dermot! Nice job!"
As Mornin mentions another activity, "Rice race? I wonder what that is? I'm not sure how good I'll be at racin! But I'm willing to try!"
Shayone nods at Kenar. "The Luxon smiled on us today indeed." She turns to the others. "I think it was rice harvesting?" she says, cautiously, at the mention of the next suggested event.
"Yep, the last one we have before the end of the challenges for today is the rice one. I can show everyone the way if we're wanting to try it?" While she waits to hear back from everyone on whether or not they were finished yet, she gives Kalhala a little high-five and a warm smile. She figured he'd come out on top of things. Talented, that one. "Good job, Mini!"
"We've tried every other event. No reason to skip the last one, mm?" In his mind, Mornin thinks about how nice it is to break from hiding himself, and be apart of a group, at least for today. It may not last, but if he can squeeze one more event of revelry out of today, he will. He doesn't know what route the group will take up to the fields, but if it takes them a way away from the pies from earlier, he will excuse himself, buy one, and let Eve feast before rejoining the group.

"Yes, indeed, the Luxon is smiling on us today!"Dermot agrees, clutching the dodecahedron-shaped amulet around his neck reverently. "It's nice to know I'm in the company of fellow faithful!"
"Well, I think it's high time the champion and I tracked down Ayo,"Maggie says, gesturing to Dermot. "Best of luck to all of you, and let's meet up again at the closing ceremony."
As the ogre and goblin take their leave, you all head to east toward the rice fields, but first Mornin' stops back by the pie stand and drops a few copper on a hand pie for his faithful pseudodragon, who scarfs it down with gusto. On the eastern edge of the Jumble, the docks rise upward from the river to run alongside wooden shacks built on stilts, casting crooked shadows over the wetlands below. Some areas of the wetlands have been cordoned off to create rice paddies, which are now ready for harvest. Blue and green banners wave over one end of the docks, where two elderly goblin farmers preside over the contest. “You know how it goes!” one hollers out in a reedy voice. “Form pairs: a cutter and a gatherer! Everyone gets a section! First pair to harvest the rice from their section wins! No entry fee required; come one, come all!"
As of now, two other teams are preparing to take art in the challenge: an orcish woman and her rambunctious son, and a pair of bickering drow brothers wearing broad-brimmed straw hats. A familiar face, Irvan Wastewalker, is currently leaning against the rice paddy's fence, seemingly waiting for the next round to begin.
Kalhala listens to the goblin farmers shout out the rules and is intrigued. This is not like anything he has done before and is actually a bit unsure of himself. Due to this, he turns to Nexus, "Hey, you up for another game? Would you want to be my partner on this? I know we have some newbies with us, and we could split up, or not. I'll leave it up to you. But if you ditch me, then you have to pick my partner." he gives her a smile and a wink as he waits for her reply. Anxious to start this interesting task.
Nexus reaches up, giving Kalhala a little tap with her knuckles on the chest after he winked at her. "Course I'd pick you for my teammate on this one, dummy. We've gotta be in teams of two, and we've got six people! We can all take part easy-peasy. You use the sickle, and I'll gather the material reaped."
Nexus wasn't the best at handling weapons of any sort. They were always a last resort for her, considering her control over the arcane. Thus, Kalhala handling the reaping while she picked up the plants made sense in her mind.
Aldith eyes the rice paddies with interest. So this was what a rice race was, whoever could gather the most rice wins. It was probably pretty helpful for the village as well, she noted with some amusement, to have so many people harvesting the rice in competition. As Nexus and Kalhala paired up, she stood a bit uncertainly near the others in their group. She didn't really know any of them too well yet, and she'd always been a bit of a loner to begin with. This felt a lot like pairing up in school, and she'd always been uncomfortable doing that as well. Still, she decided to catch Mornin's eye.
"Do you want to pair up, Mornin'?" she asks. "I'm not so sure about cutting the rice, but I can be quick with my hands in gathering it."
Kenar glad to have such luck at the past events and riding high on the fun of the festival skips over to Shayone and promptly on cue nearly falls at her feet. Recovering sheepishly he reguards her with a bow “I’d be honored to be your partner on this……Um rice thing Shayone. If you’ll have me. Looks a bit messy but could be fun!”
"Sure!" Shayone laughs a bit. "It baffles me too, but it can hardly go worse for me than the tortoises, and I don't mind pairing with someone who's been so successful so far. I can do the gathering, I imagine that much bending and running around would be easier for me."
Mornin' was caught off guard by the drowns request. He was wanting to join in the competition, but he wasn't sure how he would get a partner since he hasn't talked to anyone else yet, so this was a pleasant surprise. "Oh... Yes, I can cut. No problem." He nods accepting Aldith's request.

You all pair up and figure out who is cutting and who is gathering and make your way to the starting area, getting ready for the event to begin. "Alright, teams! Once again, first group to clear out their section of rice is the winner! On your marks, get set, start cutting! Go!" The elderly goblins say in unison.
The teams are assembled, their tools are ready, and their feet are sufficiently wet standing in this rice paddy. It's a fierce competition! Kalhala, Kenar, and Mornin are all vigorously cutting away at the stalks of rice sticking out of the brown water, handing them off to Shayone, Aldith, and Nexus, who work as best they can to bundle the rice together. However, everyone soon gains an intimate understanding of how difficult rice harvesting really is. Some mistakes are made, some humorous mishaps ensue, but eventually, Team Kalhala and Nexus and Team Mornin and Aldith finish harvesting and gathering their rice and deliver them to the baskets by the elderly goblins at the same exact time!
"Alright, we have a winner! Well, two winners, or four, technically! It's a tie between these two teams! Congratulations! We present each of you with one of these fine medals as a reward for your skill!"One of the goblins croons. Aldith, Nexus, Mornin, and Kalhala are each given a medal engraved with a sheaf of rice hung on a necklace made of woven reeds. "Thank you one and all for taking part in the Wetwalks Paddywhack Rice Harvesting Contest!"
Nexus, an avid bookworm, hasn't done a lick of farm work ever in her life-time. This was merely the last event before the grand finale of the festival, and everyone else seemed to want to take part, so who would she be to curb that excitement? She quickly finds out that trudging through muddy fields, trying to hurredly pluck up the 'bodies' of fallen rice plants, isn't her forte. By the time it all ends she's fanning herself with a hand, with plant fibers clinging to her here or there. Heck, some of it even seemed stuck in her hair, not that she seemed to notice immediately.
"Sorry for all the delays, Mini---Remind me never to get in a fight with a farmer, alright? This is very, very hard work...."
Kenar sweating a lot looks to Shayone half dead from working his arms like he had never done before. “Sorry I lost steam on at the end, remind me never to underestimate a farm hand!” Then he looks to the others with A big smile “Way to go guys that was impressive!” Kenar plops to the dirt sitting on his rear completely exhausted.
Shayone is soaked up to her waist. "I didn't realize moving through the water would be that difficult! What a slog!" She sits down on the edge of the dock and begins using Prestidigitation to dry herself off. "I could use an ale after all that."
Aldith is also soaked. She wipes sweat off her brow. "That's definitely more hard work than I've done in a while!" she exclaims. Noticing Shayone drying herself off with magic, she asks, "Would you be willing to dry me off too? Thank you."
After that's done, she hurries over to Mornin' and gives him a big smile. "Hey, we did it!" she says, clapping the man on the shoulder. This is the most excited everyone has seen Aldith so far. It seems she is starting to come out of her shell a bit more.
