(As Nexus starts to move forward, hand out, Shayone calls "No touchy the mysterious magic possibly trap in an enclosed location, please!" She looks relieved when Nexus nods and backs up. Wizards.)
Nexus casts her identify spell. This is no illusion. The pale sphere bears an aura of divine abjuration. A line of text appears in her spellbook that reads, "This is a moonshield, ancient magic used to protect sacred artifacts to Sehanine the Moon Weaver. Not harmful in any way, but supremely protective. However, this one has waned significantly and would be dispelled with but a touch."
Nexus, upon the completion of her spell, seems to go silent in contemplation. She may or may not have knowledge of the moon weaver, not being particularly religious herself, but what she did know was 'Divine Artifacts' weren't something meant to be handled by the common folk. Magic of that caliber could be dangerous, or corrupting, and while she was familiar with Ayo, Dermont, and Mini, the rest of the people here were but strangers to her. Ones that yes, she had a day of fun with, of merrymaking and drinking, but ultimately she didn't know their dispositions other than what they showed on the surface.
Inhaling, exhaling--herself to think best on what to do. She eventually does turn to everyone else. A hand coming up to brush her hair back and out of the way, wisps of bone white that swayed with a gentle sway like seaweed. "I believe that we should let them take the emerald eye."
She offers little other information initially, but does look toward Kenar. The symbols they wear might be unknown to them, or they might have seen it around Jigow. Either way, she gestures for them to come over to her with a quick motion of her hand, and the rest of the group. Voice but a whisper, as she relayed the information that she received from her magic, and asks what they think should happen next.
Kenar nods at Nexus in agreement “It would be nice to win this competition but this seems far more important than a game if you all agree? As he says this he reaches out his hand to grasp the object wait for the go ahead from the others.
Mornin looks skeptical. "We came here for the Eye. Why would we want this trinket? Especially if its magic will go away once we touch it?"

You can't drown someone with Create Water. If your lungs are containers than your bones are objects. Any Siege monster that attacks you deals double damage because it’s attacking your bones.
Shayone shakes her head, raising her arms up a little in a warding gesture. "I don't know anything about gods. But I'm also not too attached to any trinkets for winning a festival prize that involved not telling the contestants they'd have to fight a shark." She sounds incredulous. "I came here to have a good time, not almost die. Just so long as it doesn't kill us, I don't care which one we pick."
Aldith swims up to the little huddle her group has formed. She listens to everyone's opinion and tries to think the matter over carefully in her own mind as well. She has to admit that she learns more toward Mornin's perspective. They came down here to get the Emerald Eye. This other trinket, shiny and interesting though it may be, seems irrelevant to their goals. Maybe it's because she has never been religious; she's never paid much attention to the Luxon. Although the name Moon Weaver rings something in her mind, it is an awfully similar title to Keeper of the Moon Tides. Could they be one and the same person?
"I don't know..." she says slowly. "I think Mornin's right. We came here for the Emerald Eye. Why would we trade our prize for...this thing? We don't even know what it really is."
Nexus, as some of the group voices their confusion as to why they'd choose the unfamiliar trinket over the eye, "My magic informed me that the protective magic -containing- this has weakened, and that it's holding an artifact of one of our good deities. I may not be particularly religious myself, but---To me, that seems like something bigger than the festival of my hometown. At the very least, I want to gain a little more information on what is contained within, and make sure that it goes to someone that can be trusted with it."
The drow turns her gaze toward Kenar once more, a question on her lips, unsure whether or not she should ask it. "...On that note, should we ask before we touch it? Maybe if we offered a prayer, we might get some sort of response given the whole....old magic holding it."
Kalhala stands there trying to listen and understand the religious aspect of the chatter mainly between Nexus and Kenar. He knows they mean well, but honestly it was all a bit much for him. He looks over to Mornin and his thirst for winning the competition is palpable. He shakes his head and sighs looking at this new discovery. This, well this was something else. It wasn't something for the local festival, this was way beyond all that. He sees Kenar hesitate as he grabs for it knowing the discussion that is taking place.
"Ah, hell with it and all the religious mumbo jumbo." Kalhala leans over, grabs the relic and gives it to Kenar. Looking over to Mornin, "Sorry fella, but this is more than just the festival, hope you stay with us as we figure out what this thing is."
The light around the pedestal fades as a spectral figure in the form of a male human rises from the amulet. He is dressed in leather armor and a tattered red cape and wears a shield. His face is framed by curly brown hair and bears a melancholic expression. He pleads, “I am imprisoned. Please help me.”
Suddenly, the ground vanishes beneath your feet, and you fall, tumbling through a vortex of golden light. You fall deeper, deeper, deeper, then suddenly stop. The golden light subsides, and you find yourself suspended in a pitch-black expanse. You feel water buoying you. A vermilion light appears in the distance, illuminating the melancholy warrior, who is shackled to the ground by disgusting strands of a fleshy, crimson substance.
He raises his gaze to the heavens and, sobbing, chokes out, “Moon Weaver, I beg of you. Guide those with the power to save me to the site where first I prayed to you.”He looks around, and his eyes settle on you. “Oh, gods, there you are! My name is Alyxian. I am lost in darkness. Long ago, I prayed to the Change Bringer in the heart of a temple of evil. I beg you, take my jewel and…”
You feel consciousness leaving you, as if the pressure of the water were crushing the life out of you. Alyxian’s voice is the last thing you hear before you pass out. “Save me. Please...”
Suddenly, all of you feel hands shaking you and voices calling for you to wake up. You slowly open your eyes and find yourself back in that cavern flat on your backs. Ayo, Dermot, Irvan, Galsariad, and Maggie are kneeling over each of you, trying to rouse you from unconsciousness. One by one, they help each of you to your feet as soon as you are ready to stand.
"What happened? There was suddenly this surge of energy from the jewel and then you all just... collapsed..."Ayo asks.
"We heard a voice, too. It was strange, muffled, almost like it was underwater," Maggie adds.
"Also, are all of you alright?" Dermot asks sheepishly.
Nexus had intended for them all to reach out to the jewel at the same time, but it seemed that regardless of that, they all received the same strange vision. Being whisked out of her own control, given a vision of a man that was a stranger to her. A man that pleaded for their help under the name of the moon weaver, Alyxian.
The vision, entirely too short, ends with her flat on her back peering up at Ayo. Disoriented, it's a moment before she can be helped to her feet in earnest, listening to their group explain the flash of energy and the muffled noises they heard.
"Kalhala---Did you see that? Kenar? Everyone else? Are you all okay?"
Nexus, after reassuring Ayo she was fine, went over to Mini to check on him too. Got to be make sure the big guy was alright!
Kenar gets up with Galsariad help but says nothing trying to process until he see that all of his party has fallen as well. “Are you all alright! Did……did you all see?” Kenar doesn't usually show fear but is now gripping his holy symbol tightly.
Shayone accepts Irvan's help in standing up. "I don't know what in the Nine Hells that was." She dusts her clothes off where she'd fallen on her ass. "A little more magic left in that thing than you thought, maybe? Why would a deity hide a supplicant's call for help?"
Mornin gets up, rubbing his head. "Don't know... what to think... Don't know much about gods. The man saw us... are we supposed to save him? How? We don't know who or where he is."

Kalhala sits up, hand to his head as he is a bit dizzy after the experience and looks around to make sure everyone is ok. "Yeah, Nexus I did. Sorry if I acted a bit rash, I didn't expect that to happen!"
He gets to his feet and thanks the other group for helping out his friends. "Anyone recognize that guy or anything he said? I would like to help if we can."
Hearing Ayo, and remembering what he has, Mornin will keep quiet until they leave this chamber or anyone talks to him. In his mind, he starts planning. There's no way any of them would suspect him. But if they accuse us of trying to keep the emerald eye, he can deflect it with "it must have fallen off the shark when we killed it. Try looking underwater?" That should buy enough time. If it doesn't, he's sure he can outpace Ayo's group.

Nexus frets over Kalhala for a moment, helping him to his feet while the others chat. Considering the various avenues they could take going forward--until Ayo spoke of the deal that had been made. Blinking in confusion, glancing beyond them toward the body of the shark.
"I was under the impression you all had taken it while we were out--Yes, I don't mind you taking it off the body if you want. Much as I would adore the chance to win against you in something Ayo, our rivalry is friendly and you know me to stick to my word. If you've not picked it up yet feel free."
Toward Shay, she responds with, "Jigow has kept its culture despite being under the umbrella of the dynasty. We should be able to find a temple to the changebringer within town, yea. Failing that, my mother is a scholar of the Cobalt Soul. She may know where we'd find the nearest one or have some information outright. Could possibly see about asking Question, too, but she's not in town at the moment...Either way, I think taking it to a temple would be wisest first. If this sort of acted to hold a call of help for the first people to find it, maybe we could contact the god it's tied to and get some guidance."

"I'm all right," she finally says quietly. "Who was that man though? Apparently, he needs our help..."
